I'd go back to our 4-3-3 with Adam back. Few important players have to play though:

    Legzdins

    Kerr
    Ashcroft
    Sweeney
    Marshall

Byrne (with McGowan to come on in place dependent on how the game is going)
    Adam
McGhee (with Anderson to come on in place dependent on how the game is going)

    McMullan
    McCowan

Griffiths (with Cummings to come on if a change of shape is required but not to replace Griff)

McGowan can only come on as a CM. Put him at LW and we become too predictable and the formation is fucked. We need natural width and players that are willing to run at the wing-backs.

If Adam is not available, the formation is fucked.

If McMullan or McCowan aren't available for whatever reason, then the formation is fucked.

Ideal world, if we can get the above on the pitch then I see us 'clicking'.

I honestly don't think Adam will be quite ready for this. Even if he's 90% fit I reckon they'll sit him out so he gets the international break to recover fully rather than risk aggravating it.

Some of the Livi posters on here need to realise this season is on a downward spiral, and if left to continue there's going to be no way back. The tactics, the attitude, the desire, the passing, the constant fouling, no midfield drive, they just don't have the type of players for quick midfield attacking, they continually struggle to get players forward...

I watched the Arbroath game last night, their midfield were quick, alert, attacking in numbers, creating numerous chances, their passing, and ability to get the ball up the park by the wingers and bursts from midfield were great to watch, these guys are part time and still looked quicker and fitter and much better quality than what Livi have. And it was Kilmarnock a premier class type team they were playing.

If Nouble returns in January he will be starved of service, and isolated in this team.

Shots on target = 1 straight at the keeper

     System 4-4-2  which was actually a 8-1-1

Stryjek         6/10  Fine game, slices to many pass backs
Devlin         5/10 Trier, lacked a bit composure with passes
Obileye       3/10  In a dream world at times, slow reactions .
Fizzywater  4/10 Trier, Back to making mistakes
    Penrice       1/10  Rubbish
    McMillan    0/10  Rubbish
Holt              2/10 Spent the whole game trying to defend
Williamson  0/10  Probably 1 of the worst on the park
    Lewis           1/10  Invisible and rubbish
Shinnie       5/10  Tried to get into game, no support from anywhere.
Bailey          1/10  Happy doing nothing, no desire, no effort,

Anderson   1/10  The 1 is for the shot, done nothing, will always struggle with no midfield or wingers.

Longridge  1/10  As bad as Lewis

Omeonga   3/10  Done nothing, he's quite good at kicking  players though

Martindale 0/10  how much longer ?

Kilmarnock are not a "premier class type team", they are shite and are where they deserve to be.

It was a penalty but McLaughlin's leg was flat on the ground he could easily have went over it and scored if he wanted. Although his touch round the keeper was shite so he definitely knew what he was doing and given he was crying at the ref for a bit after it was given he thought McLaughlin would get sent off.

Why would he not want to score?

He explained it on the radio. He said that’s what he was complaining about as he knows the rule but didn’t think the keeper made any attempt to play the ball and just fouled McMullan.

    Ah right, good.

He should be more annoyed at McMullen not just taking it round McLaughlin and tapping it in rather than playing for the penalty.

    You're at it.

Agree with you. I’m one of McPake’s biggest critics but today I can’t pick faults with him. If I was being hyper critical maybe he could’ve put McMullan to right wingback and through another striker on but then you lose the threat of McMullan higher up the park.

Onto next week with hopefully Griffiths and Adam’s fit to play.

Griffiths will probably be starting his death sentence commuted to a 5 year ban by next week.

Enjoyed that today. Another good performance and another sob story. Liked the Rangers strip and the songs about LG slightly more imaginative so plaudits there. No failures for us. Marshall ripping the Rangers right back a bee arsehole repeatedly. Nae neck back on form. Surely the points will come??

Just a matter of time Spud. We can't go on indefinitely not scoring. Can we?

I said to my mates at the start of the season that we'll be getting bids for Marshall at the end of the season and I've seen nothing to change my mind. Him and Ashcroft are our most consistent performers IMO.

Still playing one up front doesn't help.

Ignoring the penalty, our best chances in recent games were for McGhee, Ashcroft and Kerr.

Griffiths then Cummings are hardly getting a sniff of the ball - the obsession with playing one up top is going to kill us.

You can't go 2 up top against a team like Rangers, it just opens up space elsewhere and they'll pick you off for fun. McPake got it tactically right today IMO. If some of the players had a bit more composure we could have had at least a point.

Hey blame @Dee Man. I'm just spreading his rumours. (Not euph).

Na, that post I forwarded was a description of what went on in the dressing room after St Johnstone and at the end of the post the guy adds his personal opinion of "losing the dressing room methinks".

I'd far rather players were fighting after a defeat than meekly accepting it. It shows passion and that they care.

Let’s look for all the positives we can. The other Dees, the Melbourne Daemons, have just won the AFL for the first time since the 60’s. Wierd game - it looked like they would run away with it, then it looked like they would get gubbed and finally they destroyed their opponents. I had no idea their nickname was ‘the dees’ and have been supporting Geelong for the last couple of years as it’s about the same size as Dundee. Seems sacrilegious to change teams, but it’s not real football, so I suppose I can.

I got briefly excited when I heard 'The Dees' getting mentioned in a sports report on the radio through the week until I quickly realised they were talking about that stupid sport.

  10. Talking of toxic and physical fights, has anyone else heard there were some strong opinions expressed and a frank exchange of views in the dressing room post-match the other night? Hopefully everyone has kissed and made up and take their frustrations out on Rangers tomorrow. We're only 10 points off the top...

Mcpake has taken a big gamble by bringing griffiths to dundee he knows if it doesn't work out then he's fucked.

The common sense approach would be to leave griffiths out.

However mcpake has no fucking common sense when picking our team so expect griffiths to start.

Going by McPake's recent mind games, this article screams 'Griffiths is on the bench' to me.

All of which are in Dundee’s control. They supply the stewards. They pay for the policing. They run the cameras. Pathetic indeed.

That's a silly point. If you pay someone for a service and they don't carry it out properly it's not your fault. I was at the dentist the other week and he made a c**t of it - I'll be fucked if I'm taking the blame for it.

You'd think Lovejoy would eventually stop making a c**t of himself but nope, shovel in hand.

My wind-ups couldn't be more obvious if I tried yet the raving lunatic keeps responding with lengthy replies. Dropped on the head as a child IMO. Or taken a booted flare directly to the noggin.
