Yeah, I and a friend almost got scammed by this but luckily Monzo blocked the payment and were aware that this was a common scam.

Apparently this has been around for ages, and personally I find it mind blowing that a company as big as booking.com can have cyber security that is utter dog shit and seemingly can’t be bothered to do anything about it.

They don’t even own up to it. I knew nothing about the scam at all till the hotel (the real one!) came back and said the booking was fine and it was a scam. Booking..common I had been in touch with, never mentioned any of it at all.

Yeah this was what I had for the first 10-15 mins or so then timer appeared with countdown

Just purchased my tickets for me and wife using the phone, was a bit of a pain trying to actually select seats as the stadium view was pretty bad certainly worse than the old system for selecting seats

Will have to try use a desktop for next time

The desktop is just as bad. I was using my work one and it was an absolute nightmare, the page froze after every click of the mouse so I was waiting for the map to move for a few minutes every time to navigate it. Much worse than the old one.

Just to add - if you get the choice wait on page or exit page, I always waited and eventually the page does load. It just takes a very, very long time.

It's the frustration though, having put time aside to buy the tickets but then having the wait and the possibility of being kicked out and having to start again

My timer just went from 2mins to 3mins 30 secs

I know, mine went from 10 back up to 12 mins 🤣 lying b*****ds.

Still after the experience of buying the Euro tickets, I’m pretty chill about this one.

(though to add, I hope it hurries up as I have a zoom meeting at 11am).

I've now been updated to having a 10min wait after being in at 10am, so 25 mins total and I'll be stunned if I'm not kicked out the queue before the countdown is finished

It's not like it's going to sell out

Think yourself lucky, I joined the waiting room at 9.56am and I have a 12 min wait 🤣🤣

I’m not bothered, as you say it’s not going to sell out.

This information ought to be distributed via email for everyone to review several days prior to making the reservation.

    This could be a shambles!

In fairness it was sent out by email last week.

  6. Apologies if this is posted elsewhere but just in case anyone is booked up with a hotel on booking.com.

Apparently they were hacked towards the end of last year. I managed to not know about this and got some extremely authentic emails, from within the app itself, which purported to be from the hotel I’ve booked for the Euros.

It had all my details, knew the cost of the hotel, everything and when I messaged the hotel from in the message area of the app, it was the hackers who replied.

The message seemed weird and looking at the link address they gave me it was leading to a replica of the booking.com site but at the wrong website address, so I guessed it was wrong.

Just as a warning in case anyone else gets the emails as well. Despite it being last year, the scam seems to be ongoing.

Imagine what they would say about it if Liverpool got a winner without a shot on target.

They would say it tells of the magic of premiership football and why it is the world's best.

    I truly hope this happens!
