Did Arteta not play Ben White and even Xhaka before him at times last season?

Would be a terrible move for him as he would rarely play.

Yeah, I think so. I just doubt he has a choice does he? He is still an Arsenal player at the end of the day.

Where are people getting that he was "perfectly balanced" and that he ran "a few more steps"? Genuinely. His left leg gets caught by Dubravka (which he has admitted), and the very next time he tries to plant his left leg (the one that has been caught), rather than his foot coming down straight, it's the side of his boot that hits the turf, which then knocks him off balance so that he then goes down the next step he makes. I get that people will say there was minimal contact, and I get that folk will think he could have stayed up if he tried harder, and I get that the LiVARpool stuff is amusing (and I agree to all three), but to say it's a dive, that he kept running for several steps, that VAR should have overturned it, that Newcastle were hard done by etc is clearly nonsense too.

No it doesn’t. Both feet land fine before he pulls them as he goes down. Its a clear dive and should have been overturned.

Tierney linked with a return to Arsenal now that Zinchenko is injured.

I hope not, he seems to be doing well over in Spain and Arteta is a c**t, he’ll probably leave him on the bench as soon as Zinchenko & Tomiyasu get fit again.

I think it's probably a penalty but he has dived to secure it.

There's a good view from behind in the spoiler you can see his foot is coming down when there is contact but it's made him plant his heel, he isn't able to get the right push off to continue his run properly so at that point he just dives to secure it.

It looks like the video might be down. To me it doesn't matter though, because whatever touch there was, didn’t impede him, he clearly runs (perfectly balanced it’s not like he was falling) a few more steps then goes down. That tells me he could have stayed on his feet easily and still scored. Not all contact is a foul.

The contact that caused him to go down was after he’d taken the steps. It was a slight touch by the keeper’s elbow, but it was enough IMO.

No it wasn’t because he was quite able to stay on his feet and score, as shown by him staying on his feet for a bit before diving. It was basically an open goal.

Eriksen is an empty shirt off the ball. Never seems to be criticised though.

It’s always McTominay’s fault. Will be a laugh when Ten Hag gets binned and whoever comes in next still plays him as well.

What's in a tiramisu white russian?

And are you getting in a cold water dook while you're up there? The water is fucking freezing here in Norway, but it's ace.

It’s got dark rum, Kahlua, cream in it and cocoa powder on top. Was lovely!

No swimming up here but going into Loch Lomond on the 31st and 1st Jan. A swim in Norway sounds amazing!

  8. Had a lovely Christmas Eve with my family in Pitlochry. It’s been a wee walk round and a ton of coffee and some dinner and now I can only have one drink, I made it a Tiramisu White Russian cocktail.

Mark Gatiss does a Christmas Eve ghost story wach year now which is always good. This years is away to come on at 10pm on BBC2, so that’s the rest of my evening sorted.

Merry Christmas when it comes folks.

And when did we see an angle where it hit chest as indicated by the ref? Cos I didn't

They didn’t show one. I get using the t-shirt line but that looked (from the angle we DID see) like a fairly clear motion of his arm to hit the ball away.
