  1. Game in Paris still not restarted. Would be best if it was abandoned as that was send out a even bigger message. I’m sure the officials will be doing everything to get the game restarted but both clubs should just say ‘f**k it, we’re not being officiated by this lot’. UEFA will shit themselves from taking action against these clubs. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if they tried.
  2. Exactly my thoughts. Got that sinking feeling that we’ve just gifted 3 points and 3 goals to East Fife and Forfar. Might be wrong of course and the SPFL may find that we’ve followed the protocols and it’s just bad luck. Can only hope. Personally think awarding games is ridiculous btw given the fact that everyone has had to try to adapt to such a massive upheaval, including frequent changes to guidance. St Mirren and Kilmarnock have been done for breaches of protocol where there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that these breaches led to COVID infection.
  3. I suspect the game on Saturday will be off given Clyde’s COVID situation
  4. That was in the League Cup which was the accepted competition rules. No reason why it should happen in the league. Plenty of opportunities to rearrange games.
  5. Good point but I guess it’ll be one league game rather than the two it would have been if this weekend was a league game. Still crap though. We’ve now had Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Falkirk, Clyde, Forfar and Albion Rovers with outbreaks. There will be others.
  6. I just hope they make the decision early before the travelling fans leave. Oh wait.....
  7. If you’re going to have COVID cases, it’s probably good timing for Falkirk. Much better to lose players for a League Cup game than the league. Still bloody unlucky though.
  8. The lower league are a different ball game to the Premier League where it is perfectly possible for players to stay within a relatively small group. Lower league players are mostly part time and have day time jobs to do. It’s therefore almost certain that some clubs will have outbreaks. I’m surprised more haven’t to be honest. We’ve had Forfar, Albion Rovers and now Clyde. More are bound to occur.
  9. Game of two halves that. Rangers just did enough to go in 1-0 at half time but Benfica were poor. Second half was all Benfica who got better as the game progressed. However, Rangers did make the most of the few breaks they had. Great goal and off the bar after the Benfica keeper made an arse of Morelos’s shot. Penalty? Probably but a draw was probably about fair.
  10. In all seriousness, regarding the Glasgow Cup, I think it might be an idea if owners made it clear that we are not happy about this. Might be a waste of time but why should we sit idly by and watch a wafer thin squad have to compete in this crap in the current circumstances, particularly as it appears to be last year’s competition. It’s just madness. If there is no financial penalty for withdrawing, this is what we should be doing. Don’t know if there’s any mileage in this but I’d gladly back a representation to the club about this. Anyone else ? Maybe Danny wants to get play these games ? Be surprised.
  11. Wouldn’t argue with most of that. You should not have lost that game. And yes, we are very lucky to have a top class striker. He is excellent and his attitude and commitment has always been top class. I’m not sure though that you’d win most games when you get your normal defence back. More games maybe, most games perhaps not.
  12. Absolutely. We should be withdrawing from that nonsense. Tournament that has been irrelevant for decades, if it was every relevant at all. Especially irrelevant as we’ve not been a Glasgow club for a generation now.
  13. I thought your team played some lovely football at times. You were miles better than Clyde for most of the game. I’d be surprised if you weren’t challenging for a play off spot. The first Clyde goal was clearly a shocker from a Montrose point of view and the second was a header that Goodwillie should never have won, although he’s surprisingly good in the air for a guy that isn’t very tall. Third was a great counter attack and finish when you were pushing forward. Montrose’s second goal was excellent. Great build up play and a cool finish. Petrie has done a great job at Montrose.
  14. Well, after the first half, I didn’t expect that. We were much more competitive in the 2nd half. Syvertsen made a huge difference. He was able to do what most couldn’t in the first half, hold onto the ball and bring others into play. Think he is starting to show the promise he did before his knee injury. Has taken him some time to get back up to speed. Hopefully Goodwillie has had his wee barren spell, which he does have from time to time. Great hat trick today. Took them all really well. Fingers crossed he goes on a wee run. The ref did his best near the end to give Montrose an equaliser after a bad foul on Goodwillie high up the park. Why he didn’t give a free kick I’ll never know. He booked the Montrose player afterwards, presumably for the foul but he let the play go on when there was never an advantage for Clyde. Montrose nearly equalised from the resulting play. Maybe I read it wrong and he booked the Montrose player for something else but seemed ridiculous to me.
  15. Oh dear. That was utterly dreadful. How we’ve got in at 1-1 I just don’t know. Montrose dominant for the whole 45 minutes. They should be 2 or 3 up.
  16. Kevin Nicoll resigning according to the official site. He was done 2 years ago so scratching my head at that.
  17. Killie well worth the win in the end. A bit better from us after 2 or 3 shambolic performances. At least we didn’t look as though we were going to take a hammering, unlike Saturday. I found the co-commentator annoying too. First couple of games we just had the one and he actually concentrated on the game, which is what they are there for. Tonight sounded like the Clyde equivalent of Rob McLean and Alex Rae. On second thoughts, nobody can be that biased.
  18. Now it seems we’re hoping for own goals and penalties
  19. You’re lucky ! I wasn’t going to but was at home with nothing else on so decided about 14-50 to open a beer and watch it. Wish I hadn’t bothered. Beer was nice though.
  20. Didn’t think it could get worse than last week. But it has. Just dreadful.
  21. Yes he is. He’s quite obviously a serious fraudster
  22. Maybe why he plays like a child.
  23. To be fair, I don’t think they love him now. They’ve realised he’s pish and should be punted back to Brighton. Irish or not. I wouldn’t even have him at Clyde he’s that poor.
