  1. There's a terrible article in today's online Herald about which Scottish-based players that Rangers should sign to get them up to second in the table. Behind a sign-in wall but if you use incognito mode you can access it. https://t.co/12MPy4Tns5 It's like pub chat in The Louden Tavern FFS.
  2. Gotcha. So it's not more people, it's simply to keep folk coming because after the preceding fixtures it is likely to be a largely irrelevant game for County. Fair enough, but as you say it's not great for ST holders who will feel that they've paid in advance.
  3. Came here just to complain. Actually I have a relatively serious point to make. One of the first rules of marketing is that if your product has an intrinsic value, you don't just give it away for free. I'm trying to think of reasonably relevant examples (and failing tbh) but if a cinema simply allowed folk in for nothing, without any tie back into something else, then surely folk would expect them to repeat it. So if more folk come to the Hamilton game because it's free, what's to stop them thinking "that wasn't bad, I'll do that again next time it's free".
  4. If you can't get Hearts tickets there's (allegedly) a boy in the Celtic ticket office who will run off a couple of fakes for you. Just get there early and it'll be fine.
  5. Decent post split fixtures. Might give the St Johnstone game a miss though.
  6. It's not a gift though, it's a commercial deal with a return on their investment. OK so it's not a conventional investment but regardless, they are fronting the cash and getting it back on rent. Sensible, sustainable, based on growing the club organically, not spunking cash on Fabrizio Ravenelli or his modern equivalent.
  7. Hugely impressed with the way Thistle are going about things at the moment.
  8. Just looking at the table and we're in the same sort of position that County were in last season... and to be honest, at that time you were kinda thinking that they were the guys most likely to end up there. I really hope we can do it.
  9. Sad that wee Scott McDonald hasn't got a look in for one of the caretaker roles, but I guess he's too busy refereeing matches and commenting on Celtic games.
  10. Don't honestly know what to expect. My initial reaction was disappointment that we are signing a guy who can't get into an English League 2 team, but on reflection, having watched a bit of League 2 live and on the telly, most games just cut out the attacking midfield and boot the ball back and forth. Maybe this is a chance for him to fit into our style of play. We'll see. The YouTube clip above doesn't suggest he's a Lionel Ainsworth type winger though.
  11. Ghana. We got a message that the graduates from the boys club needed some strips so we sent some out and got this photo back.
  12. We've signed Mark Ridgers. Obviously on the back of his performance against us in that survival shoot out at Tynecastle in 2013 where he let in four goals.
  13. Well what would be the point of that? As you've explained in your second sentence Regan has executive authority, so it's like a shareholder writing to the non-exec directors on the board of a company asking them to sack the MD for appointing a racist HR director. In that case you have the option of selling your shares if you're pissed off, or if you're a customer you have the choice of buying elsewhere. Except we all know football is different because we don't have that leverage, so Regan can sit in his office at Hampden safe in the knowledge that if he looks after his blazer wearing acolytes, he has a job for life. That pisses me off, not threads like this.
  14. If this affair has proved anything, it's that the SFA simply don't care what the football community in Scotland think about what they do. Time after time, they either do the unthinkable or at least attempt it. The only time that the fans managed to get them to change direction was over Rangers (who can forget Regan's "civil unrest" statement?), but even that was down to pressure on individual club chairmen and not the blazers. So the question is, how can the fans stop being angry and start getting even, without affecting Scottish football as a whole? I genuinely haven't a clue, but any suggestions would be welcome, short of breaking the law.
  15. Hard being a Jags fan at the moment, then I look around at what else is happening in the world and thank my lucky stars that I was born and brought up in NW Glasgow.
  16. Google maps says Tynecastle to The Acropolis, Athens = 2390miles Firhill to The Acropolis = 2386 Rugby Park = 2389 Somerset Park = 2391 Who's going to be mean enough to break it to him?
  17. Who knows? He had a two and a half year contract in Poland that has run out. He's a free agent.
