  5. Read my previous posts and tell me where i'm incorrect. Re your lowest common denominator argument, a "significant change" has occurred, and, as such, the matter from Scotland's perspective, requires reviewing. Unless, of course, you don't want to see that.
  6. Your use of "we" is significant. Here's what i wrote a couple of hours ago that you've either missed or ignored (the latter is your prerogative). "When Rip, Rig and Panic rushed up to Glasgow a few days before the Independence vote in 2014 with their "Vow", that persuaded and scared many people who were either unsure or uncertain into voting "No". They swanned off back to londonshire with their job done and reverted back into their master/servant roles with Scotland. Nothing will change unless we grasp whatever opportunity WE decide upon - not westminster !!!!!!!" There was a westminster connivance at play here, as there always is. Your ""we" - referring to the whole of the "four equal partner" union falls apart with the other points i've made. You replied to one if i'm correct. You seem to fall into the second "born under a union flag" group i mentioned. Your choice and, if happy with your brittania westminster ruling Scotland, then that's your right. To be wholly dismissive on the other salient points about Scotland being ceremonially shat on is, however, displaying a naivety, verging on myopia.
  7. When Rip, Rig and Panic rushed up to Glasgow a few days before the Independence vote in 2014 with their "Vow", that persuaded and scared many people who were either unsure or uncertain into voting "No". They swanned off back to londonshire with their job done and reverted back into their master/servant roles with Scotland. Nothing will change unless we grasp whatever opportunity WE decide upon - not westminster !!!!!!! We are treated with disdain by westminster, yet, when the Independence question arises, they are so desperate to keep us as part of their "four equal partners", that they sell the "stronger together" bullshit which is the new "vow". Scotland has its diehard "Indy" supporters who will not see any other option. However, we also have the "born under a union flag" brigade who, irrespective of the further downtrodden existence under westminster, will not and could not vote either SNP or for Independence. It's the majority who exist in neither of these camps that hold the key for me. It's about evaluating the future and where they see themselves and their children being in 10, 20 or 30 years down the line - living in a self-serving, self-determining country, or continuing to get handouts from the westminster purse, despite the fact that we contribute handsomely to our detriment.
  8. In 2014, we were promised that a vote to remain as part of the "four equal partners" - aye, ah ken - would mean that we remain part of the European Union. Like all uk-wide general elections, we are given whoever england wants and votes for, based on basic population numbers. We are not "equal partners" no matter where your views lie about Yes/No and, despite Scotland voting to stay as part of the EU, we're about to succumb to the behest of the ever right wing little englander vote. Notwithstanding there will be major issues and problems for a number of years, i believe we should pursue Independence where we have a government of OUR choosing, who puts OUR country first, pushing for the best interests of Scotland running our affairs. The alternative is the status quo where we're westminster's bitches whilst helping to feed the continued prosperity and fiscal growth of london and the south east. The impact will not affect me significantly due to my age and time left on this planet, but my children and their children deserve a future where it's THEIR country with THEIR interests at the forefront of the decisions taken by whichever government is in Holyrood.
