The reaction it gets from some on here makes me think they have something to hide I personally don't mind it but would, along with Nutella and peanut butter classify it as "child's food". In close proximity to Hampden itself? There was f**k all open nearer than Shawlands when I was last there in 2012 for the Cup Final. You've missed my point entirely regarding McDiarmid Parks proximity to Perth City centre entirely......I was suggesting the very people championing Hampdens location are very likely to be critical of McDiarmid Parks. Not as a proposed location for the National team. FWIW I think Hampden is the best choice of the two given but lets not paint it as something its not.

It is doable but it's hardly "slap bang in the middle of Glasgow" though. The lack of pubs and restaurants nearby is also an issue (Shawlands closest?) imo. I'm sure Aberdeens new stadium will be "doable".........doesn't make it ideal though.

Almost slap bang in the middle of Glasgow but not really at all. Have you ever walked from the City centre to Hampden before? Not that I was advocating Murrayfield but the difference between Haymarket to Murrayfield and Queen St/ Central Station to Hampden is night and day. People are quick to pile in on McDiarmid Park for being "too far out of town" when it's probably closer to Perth City centre than Hampden is to Glasgow City centre. Besides, where the National team plays is irrelevant when you consider the utter incompetent morons that run the game in Scotland. Until this changes the mens game (don't want to taint the womens game as they seem to be fairly progressive) will continue to tread water.
