  1. I see Rory is whinging about the set up being like ‘crazy golf’ once again Is it just me who prefers watching the occasional tournament like that where guys are punished and tested rather than just bombing it everywhere with no consequences and ending 22 under or whatever? It’s surely more of a test of your temperament and shot selection which makes a good player. It’s why I don’t like a lot of PGA Tour golf, it’s just quite samey a lot of the weeks. Bay Hill and the Players next week are good for a bit of variety.
  2. I went down to the food stands and they were completely dead, didn’t even put two and two together
  3. Doesn't really have any impact now though does it? Been told they're getting kicked out at the end of their bf agreement and tons of bad press from it including the women's team chucking it en masse I suspect they hope it’ll be the start of the road back with NLC to negotiate a lease at Broadwood but who knows? Whatever happens next is entirely on the board’s appalling judgment but this step was the obvious first one of many. As a side note, does anyone more informed than me know whether the finance director Andy Allan is still involved with the club? He appears as a director on Companies House but isn’t in the club directory or listed as a board member on the website?
  4. A one sentence statement to hopefully begin the long road back from this whole nightmare. Although the Raith fans were fairly sure we wouldn’t be able to terminate it that easily, so let’s see
  5. I had also wondered about this. I didn’t receive any letter so clearly wasn’t on DGW’s mailing list…
  6. I don’t think our transfer policy matters a great deal when you don’t have anywhere for them to play tbh
  7. Just checking that you’re happy to host the games in your back garden when that sponsor kicks us to the curb?
  8. Do we actually know for sure that the board made that decision last week? I know there was a lot of allusions to it, but I can’t get my head around what’s changed between then and now to provoke a volte face so quickly? Surely if you were in favour of the signing this week, then you would have been last week?
  9. Hamish Watson tests positive for Covid and is out for the France game tomorrow.
  10. I like Auburn’s Smoke Monday as my personal fave.
  11. Shuster is a pain in the arse, he did this in the last Olympics as well
  12. I agree that Ricky Waddell isn’t quite the choice I’d go for - especially if we remain in L1 - but I would veer on the side of the younger manager with a little bit of juice if we do decide to move away from Lennon. Who knows who would even apply for our job tho if the budget is going to be cut further next season? As for Lennon’s future, I agree with the principle above that his coaching/man management is clearly decent to get us where we are currently, but it’s how much we can separate the recruitment from his responsibility. On the one hand, we all bemoan the recruitment team - and I do too - but we keep getting told that signings were approved by DL ahead of the start of the season so if we believe that, then he can’t get a pass on that point. FWIW, if we stay up, I think we’ll extend him.
  13. Looking at that, the last scenario listed is by far the most likely route IMO for GB to progress. They’re second last in DSC but only a wee bit behind Japan so they need to have a good draw shot tomorrow and give themselves a chance to finish above both in that table.
  14. This is the table for all of the permutations, still looks like a tall order with the lack of available options for GB. Canada are the worst in DSC apparently so those scenarios are in our favour.
  15. Not yet I don’t think. If they both lose - playing the two top teams - and GB win then I reckon we’re fourth?
  16. Imagine this is probably just manoeuvring but holy hell if it happened
  17. Yeah that end felt like a missed opportunity, Edin was feeling it, just put stones in the house
  18. The Darvel thing isn’t happening. Their manager flatly denied it on this forum earlier today.
  19. I’ve never been convinced Muirhead has it in this company, the opening five ends of this haven’t acted massively against that. I’m not sure the Canadians are actually playing that well either.
  20. Yeah tomorrow is a big game, especially given that run of games we’ve got coming up following that, tough to see many points being racked up there. I keep waiting for Alloa to go on a run because their squad looks stronger on paper than the other sides, but not happened yet.
  21. I had flashbacks with that last stone draw from earlier
  22. It’s basically the curlers or bust now I think and as we’ve seen, that’s hardly a guarantee.
  23. A very big game for our season, I feel. Win it and we have a clear gap to 9th that we just might be able to ride to the end of the season. Lose it and the dogfight is well and truly on. Without having seen any of them, my sense is that the January window has strengthened Dumbarton and this is going to be a tough ask. I’d love to dig out another three points but I’ll plump for the traditional nerve-shattering draw with us camped on our goal line for the final ten minutes.
  24. Lovie confirmed. Bring on 17 games of that magnificent beard.
