I’m happy with that, we’re still conceding too many goals and I think Hamilton and Howie will be part of a back three alongside one of the others (Dunachie?) and that looks fairly solid. We can work on the forward areas as we move through the window. A similar return for Jordan Allan and we might be cooking to at least move up the league.

Craig Howie?

I‘m more pessimistic than most when it comes to the January arrivals. I think we can talk a good game about eight or nine arrivals, but in the crunch and when other teams in better situations are recruiting in the same pool, we won’t get some of the names were in for.
I believe it’ll be more like five or six through the door which means jettisoning the players just not good enough and trying to add real quality to supplement what we have.
I’ll see how close I am but my guess for some names out would be Parry, Craig, McCulloch, Mulvanny, Gunn, Forbes and maybe Carswell? The latter feels like he’s not quite going to be a good choice at either CB or CM, especially with Hamilton coming in. I’d think we’d send King back and keep Stevenson and Leslie.

Ryan Shanley escaping the Edinburgh City situation for Falkirk, he’s one I had hopes for if we’re injecting some cash in January. Wonder where that leaves Jordan Allan?

That’s one of the three hinted at by Maitland out of the door. I’ll bet Mulvanny will be one of the others, he’s barely played.

Scottish Hockey players 'locked out' of national stadium - BBC News
I’m sure that was one of the options mooted on the search but it was basically a done deal for the hockey so it wasn’t pursued.

Shouts for US captain? There was a lot of speculation around Woods but he seemed to shoot that down at his presser in Bahamas

Lots of post match reaction online showing Rollins and Drew raging at the ending, Rollins having to be held back by Michael Cole during Punk’s entrance. Interesting to see how much, if anything, talent knew before the return and what reactions are genuine and which are a work. Which is how this sort of thing is meant to work I suppose.

While you’re all on the topic of worst Clyde players of all time I’d like to pop on and say Scott Gair is one of my favourite footballers in Scottish football history.
If someone could find the highlights of the game he comes steaming out of defence, misses the ball then hides under his own shirt, well that would just make my Columbus Day.
Oh Christ Scott Gair

Great defending from the ‘skipper’ there

No Leslie in from the start is an interesting call to say the least. Bring back McLean

I’m particularly enjoying the EK fan(s) expressing their undying gratitude to the Chicken Man for ‘staying loyal’ and avoiding a job he had no chance of getting anyway. The only question is what tinpot outfit’s scarves they’ll have in their top drawer this time next year.

Appointment set - fingers crossed - to be announced tomorrow evening before training.

Treat this with the level of salt you wish - Lan Live tend to like to blow smoke up Kennedy - but if this is the case, then it’s setting us up for a classic ditched at the altar scenario here and we’re left with back-up choices.

Not a fan of a lot of what this account says but it feels bang on here. The DPWT’s identity seems to be increasingly as a feeder for the PGAT. It was always the case to some extent but to effectively say to a lot of the dregs in America to come over and take some spots in Euro tournaments doesn’t quite sit right with me.
It’s the same as the ‘elevated event’ stuff - there’s no reason why the likes of Wentworth, maybe France or Italy and one of the Middle East tournaments couldn’t have those fields as well but it feels as if it’s the Scottish is the only one because most of the US players are over here the week leading up to the Open anyway.

Sir Patrick Scullion has the Shire punching above their weight in 15th place in the lowland league. We could bypass the interview due to his legend status at the club surely?
Never mind that scrub, Sir Richard Waddell has been punching above his weight for the Caley Braves, surely an ideal candidate!

I think there has been rather too much confidence about our position coming into this month. We’re in a massive amount of trouble here and have to find six points on a team that at least have a knack of winning at home which is more than we can muster currently.
Maybe it’s just my pessimism breaking through but it will need a remarkable turnaround to avoid the LL now.
