That also diminishes any hope of us bringing any real quality in the league, talented youngsters will move at a younger age and for less £ to other leagues to test themselves against the best. I think the point was suggesting to group stage participation more than just qualification. With the conference league now up and running hopefully this does happen more and we see Aberdeen, Hearts and others have European football until Xmas more regularly.

Ukraine who also have an automatic qualifying spot for the Champions League have for the past 30 years only been won by Shakhtar or Dynamo.

They don't owe us anything, it's reward for qualifying for their tournament via the rules they set out. Now let's not for a minute think we are going to get even remotely close to winning this so should i then be asking Real Madrid/Man City/Liverpool/Bayern for a share of their spoils to bridge the gap because in this competition it's us that's the diddy?

The distribution in the Champions League isn't equal either, co-efficient payments aren't equal even among teams of the same country nor are the % of the market pool that each country gets for example Celtic and Rangers split just 10% of the TV revenue available to British clubs so it isn't unfair to suggest that only improves if we improve our performances in that competition

Also getting Real Madrid at home 1st is also good. They have shown in previous seasons they can be slow starters and been on the receiving end of a few upsets, fingers crossed we can be one of them and at least start with a point. The draw and the fixtures have been kind to us imo
