I was a bit surprised that McCall didn't try to sign Darren Brownlie (a player he seems to admire once describing him as best centre half in the league). Only 30 and recently joined Cumnock. Clyde have more than enough centre halfs?

As for Byrne, it would have been nice to have him as he is clearly a very good player but other areas of the pitch are a higher priority. Shouldn't be too many tears and snotters down Firhill way.

I worked with a close family member of Ballantyne's who told me McCall phoned him to ask him to sign two hours after he had signed for Airdrie. He would have signed for us as wanted a full-time gig in the championship but only had a part-time offer from Arbroath. He ended up full-time in the championship anyway and we signed McMillan. All's well that ends well n'that.

Cammy Ballantyne heading our way according to someone on the Airdrie chat. Would be a good signing if true and perhaps an indication that McMillan is on his way.

Accies away is usually a stick-on for me as I'm only up in EK. I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford the £26 but I find the feeling that I'm having the piss taken out of me somewhat off-putting.

Last year's strip (a kit is something wankers play "footy" in) was a cracker and there is absolutely nothing out there that could make your "abomination" look decent.
