  1. Technically the Six nations and the IRB are based in Dublin as well and the ICC is in Dubai. The Ulster GAA, whose ground this would be, are based in Armagh which is in the UK whether they like the idea or not The idea that it should be getting some funding from the UK government shouldn't be too controversial The idea that they can expect a blank cheque and want to spend 10,000 per seat however is just taking the piss, that's more expensive than the new Everton ground Ideally the Euros will come to Edinburgh and the Ulster GAA will be left with an unspectacular, affordable but adequate Falkirk style three sided ground that provides enough space for Ireland to stage Cricket Test matches as Northern Irish Cricket seems to have been ignored in this funding.
  2. With 9 games left we're now 13 points off 2nd and 13 points ahead of 4th so barring something truly amazing happening 3rd place appears inevitable the only question is when it becomes official So in order to artificially inject some suspense into proceedings I'm going to pretend that having it wrapped up before the split is important A draw in the upcoming Killie vs St Mirren fixture would help speed the process up but if we win the next four then it's job done regardless of what happens elsewhere.
  3. Is that if you sell your ticket 4 times or if you fail to sell it for a game you’re missing
  4. Against conventional wisdom Rangers and Celtic games are now our least well attended matches of the season. this is partly down to loyalty points, partly because it’s priced as category A like the derby and possibly because people don’t expect hearts to be competitive and partly because even if they are they don’t expect the officials to be straight. and if you’re taking children you don’t want them near that lot
  5. Well that was fun nothing like a penalty save to settle nerves and make you think that this might just be your day I saw Brendan Rogers interview and he starts with “First of all I have to give credit to.., I thought “maybe he’s mellowed and has some respect for the opposition” … my players” i thought “no, he’s still an arse”
  6. Done Times are good right now so I don’t actually need your fiver just send @Girtha tenner
  7. How the hell should I know, Im not an ornithologist, I just suggested a swallow, I didn’t expect the Spanish Inquisition
  8. Regardless of how typical the mediocrity of Hibs this season is, the broader point stands. That was a team we should have beaten at home and we didn't Just like Ross county in December but for that matter Celtic should have beaten us at home and didn't But this is all part of life's rich tapestry As Seneca the younger (Roman Senator, Stoic philosopher and secretary of Ancient Corsica Hearts Supporters Club in 43 AD -49 AD) once said "To bear trials with a calm mind robs misfortune of its strength and burden."
  9. Possibly that's an argument that's best not to get into in case there's any Aberdonians passing
  10. Do we actually know yet which of the two “challenges” the penalty was given for after the VAR At the time it felt as if the referee on the pitch had been willing to give Hibs the benefit of the doubt once but not twice It’s entirely possible he changed his mind on both calls
  11. Vargas is frustrating he’s got the pace to create chances that other players couldn’t but lacks the composure to finish them the way other players could He’s the Costa Rican Wayne Foster
  12. There was a point where we were 1-0 down and Killie were 1-0 up that was a bit worrying
  13. I wouldn’t say “gutted” or “delighted” are particularly appropriate “Somewhat miffed” covers it fairly well as far as I’m concerned Obviously I can’t speak authoritatively for the whole hearts support and opinions will vary but given that the hearts left the field to only fairly mild booing from their own supporters I’m probably fairly typical.
  14. South Africans have been following a team that wins a lot for decades and are a shower of arseholes Ireland have been really good for a while and their fans are already catching up on the Boks support in the arrogant, entitled w****r stakes It’s amazing that Kiwis aren’t more obnoxious than they are
  15. Not so much now that the away section has been squeezed horizontally Even St Johnstone can bring enough people to justify opening the bottom bit of one section
  16. The wheelchair spaces at Tynecastle are in front of the top section but behind the bottom section on those walkways that run the width of the stands
  17. The thing is that sorting them out becomes a lot easier if the people around them aren't prepared to tolerate them Extricating an utter cnut from amongst a group of decent upstanding citizens such as yourself is trivial. Removing him from a group of people that while not utter cnuts themselves are still f***ing arseholes and think the cnut in question is "a good laugh" is trickier
  18. Personally speaking I quite like the idea of being able to buy one item of a meal deal at the right price without being penalised for not buying the other two Whether making Snickers cheaper is the intended consequence I'm not so sure
  19. As far as cutting the allocation because of things like missile throwing and pyro I'd suggest incrementally closing of the first row, and then if it persists closing off the second row etc. and then restoring them after each game that passes relatively incident free Firstly it means that idiots have got further to throw things and secondly it means that if you are throwing things the people next to you will think you're an arsehole and be more likely to do something about it. Cutting entire sections from the away allocation seems drastic and cutting the entire away allocation like at the old firm games is ludicrous, unless there's a full blown riot, but dropping it by a hundred or so at a time would be more proportionate Of course Celtic would probably end up with the whole lower section closed off after a few years but even they might learn eventually
  20. Amidst all the excitement I missed that Hibernians failure to win at Tynecastle along with Rangers Comeback against Killie and Celtic's win over Dundee mean that Hibs maximum is now 64 and Dundee can only hit 65. St Mirren can get 69 so can't catch Rangers on 70 , Killie can get 70 but if Rangers lose both old firm games that won't be enough to catch Celtic This is now a three horse race Although the Champions League 2025 dreams are still alive for Killie and the Buddies I'll leave @VincentGuerinto provide appropriate photos
