  1. Last time Livingston were at Tynecastle they stank the place out with a display so defensive that even a cartoon version of Craig Levein would have thought it was a bit much. Hearts had 77% of possession, 24 Shots, 10 on target (Livi had three and zero) and played 667 passes but it took until the 79th minute for Vargas to get the goal That was a long and frustrating afternoon for Hearts fans, and we won so it must have been even less enjoyable for the visitors Hopefully this is going to be better, but I might take a book just in case
  2. Home advantage against Motherwell is overrated. Opponents do better at Fir Park (1.63 ppg) than they do when hosting Motherwell (1.38 ppg) although St Mirren are a lot better at Home so it's still worth having But more to the point if Motherwell make it you'll still have at least a 4 point lead over 6th place with 5 games to go
  3. If Dundee stay up you're going to Paisley Home Fixtures without switches Hearts:17+3(Dundee,Rangers,St Mirren) = 20 Kilmarnock:17+3(Celtic,Dundee,Hearts) = 20 Rangers:17+3(Dundee,Kilmarnock,St Mirren) = 20 St Mirren:16+2(Celtic,Kilmarnock) = 18 Celtic:16+2(Hearts,Rangers) = 18 Dundee:16+2(Celtic,St Mirren) = 18 Hearts will need to go to Dundee, Rangers or St Mirren a 3rd time but as Rangers and St Mirren are needing to switch one home game already it's going to be Dundee. Rangers won't go to Kilmarnock a 3rd time and Dundee are hosting Hearts so that leaves St Mirren And by process of elimination Kilmarnock visit Parkhead again Home Fixtures After switches Hearts:17+2(Rangers,St Mirren but not Dundee,) = 19 Kilmarnock:17+2(Dundee,Hearts but not Celtic) = 19 Rangers:17+2(Dundee,Kilmarnock but not St Mirren) = 19 St Mirren:16+2+1(Celtic,Kilmarnock, plus Rangers) = 19 Celtic:16+2+1(Hearts,Rangers plus Kilmarnock) = 19 Dundee:16+2+1(Celtic,St Mirren plus Hearts) = 19
  4. If the top 6 isn't confirmed on time then instead of keeping everybody waiting till the spare game finally gets played the top 6 could be determined on "points per game" and we'd all have our fixture list by Monday A precedent has, after all, been set for this kind of thing. In fact given that Ross County vs Rangers doesn't feature in the calculations we could get our fixtures on Saturday night
  5. To be fair "She Walked through the fair" was public domain and Page takes Graham's interpretation of it and bit's of Bert Janch's "Down by Blackwaterside"and pushes the ideas far further out into more ambitious and experimental territory than Graham's relatively safe and sane version did. If you've got a problem with people doing that then I can only urge you to avoid Jazz That said, trying to do that stuff on electric as opposed to acoustic seems like a crazy idea and a lot of that 12 minutes is very much in the "you had to be there man" territory so it belongs on the thread This is a far better version
  6. You are now P&B’s official Portuguese lower leagues correspondent
  7. If Hibs beat Motherwell and make the top 6 then they’ll only have three diddyship fixtures left they need a Dundee win as well to give them 15 points to play for
  8. See if you can find your match here https://www.flashscore.com/football/portugal/campeonato-de-portugal-group-d-2018-2019/results/
  9. Marley Watkins Killie wonderstrike at Tynecastle will live long in history He'll tell his grandchildren about the day he marginally delayed Hearts from wrapping up 3rd place
  10. Opta running their predictive models get a 40% chance of Man City winning and about 30% Liverpool, 30% Arsenal It's obviously easy to quibble with the specifics but the general takeaway that each team is more likely to fail than succeed seems about right
  11. Looking at the bottom 6 If Dundee are in the top 6 then St Johnstone will travel to Aberdeen a 3rd time St Johnstone:17+3(Aberdeen,Hibernian,Ross County) = 20 Hibernian:17+2(Aberdeen,Motherwell) = 19 Livingston:16+3(Hibernian,Ross County,St Johnstone) = 19 Motherwell:17+2(Livingston,St Johnstone) = 19 Ross County:16+3(Aberdeen,Hibernian,Motherwell) = 19 Aberdeen:16+2(Livingston,Motherwell) = 18 Otherwise it looks as if Aberdeen will end up with 18 home games If Motherwell make it Dundee and St Johnstone will each have a third vist to Hibs or Aberdeen Dundee:16+4(Aberdeen,Hibernian,Livingston,St Johnstone) = 20 St Johnstone:17+3(Aberdeen,Hibernian,Ross County) = 20 Livingston:16+3(Hibernian,Ross County,St Johnstone) = 19 Ross County:16+3(Aberdeen,Dundee,Hibernian) = 19 Hibernian:17+1(Aberdeen) = 18 Aberdeen:16+1(Livingston) = 17 If Hibs make it then Livingston will host Motherwell while Hibs are getting the extra Home Game Motherwell:17+3(Dundee,Livingston,St Johnstone) = 20 Ross County:16+3(Aberdeen,Dundee,Motherwell) = 19 St Johnstone:17+2(Aberdeen,Ross County) = 19 Dundee:16+3(Aberdeen,Livingston,St Johnstone) = 19 Livingston:16+2(Ross County,St Johnstone) = 18 Aberdeen:16+2(Livingston,Motherwell) = 18 But given the season they've had Aberdeen fans probably see that as a mercy
  12. Obviously there are plenty of Man City Fans who were there in the old days and can remember inflatable bananas and finishing behind Walsall in the second division. It's difficult to begrudge those people the good times they've enjoyed in recent years But nonetheless it's about time they move aside and let someone else have a go
  13. Watching the highlights of this now and it's very difficult to have any sympathy for Dundee But that's just because they're all dressed as referees
  14. For example St Mirren’s chances of finishing 3rd are still alive but are now dependent on getting a better result against Celtic than Hearts get against Livingston on the Other hand while a St Mirren defeat would confirm Hearts in the top four it would also see the end of our title hopes
  15. Manchester United winning this and then losing next week in Bournemouth is the ideal option
  16. After todays result a defeat for Dundee on Wednesday would see Hearts title hopes officially ended Just one more reason for Hibees to get behind the Kings XI
  17. Has anybody analysed the whole home and away fixture situation after the split i think we’re due two home games and we’ve only hosted St Mirren and Rangers once each but if Dundee make the cut they’re due a trip to Tynecastle as well
  18. Arsenal moved north of the river 111 years ago and are still occasionally getting grief about it
  19. I don’t think Rangers are going to lose to Dundee on Wednesday either but the BBC should probably acknowledge the possibility
  20. First things first Hibs fans will need to cheer Rangers to take points off Dundee or it doesn’t matter
  21. Sometimes it happens in March, sometimes in April, sometimes on the final day, Sometimes it's a footnote, sometimes it's the only consolation in tough times occasionally it's cancelled but it's here today Happy "Finishing above Hibs Day" everybody
