  1. This is the way. McAllister isn't great though. Controversially, his best performances have been at centre half.
  2. You're sailing close to the wind with this national team chat...
  3. To be fair, it wouldn't be an easy role to fill with the investigation still hanging over the party. The vast majority of candidates wouldn't want to be associated with it. I expect that's why it's taken so long to replace the catastrophically bald one.
  4. Was just on the club website. Kudos to the club for the injury update. Its good to be kept informed.
  5. I really can't stand the 'he gives 100% and you can't fault his effort' argument. Is that not the minimum we should expect from all the players?
  6. Ashford showed so much promise I remember him scoring on his debut (away to Hamilton) and thinking we had a player. I then got more and more frustrated as I had to endure watching him up front instead of Adeloye. I got progressively more scunnered with him. He never really matched his debut performance thereafter as he failed to hit a barn door and missed many a sitter. Sam "Allergic to goals" Ashford. Good luck in your future endeavours.
  7. Reading is still here. Although he hasn't looked like the traffic cone I remember. That's high praise from me.
  8. Can we take all the national team chat out of this thread? Its a bit boring. I'm here for the Super and only the Super. Thank you.
  9. Agree, Ashford is now so far down the pecking order given the veritable smorgasboard of talent we have out wide. He could well be fifth choice. Similarly, I'd loan Bryden out to a League One team so he can hone his craft. He would score a decent load at that level and come back the better for it. He needs games. McKenzie could well be shipped out as well. Although it depends what we do up front. Ecrepont is another one that Bullen doesn't rate. So he could also be shipped out. Bullen made it very clear that he believed the lack of competition is the reason that Reading's form fell off a cliff. I still think a left back is an outside bet but Finn would have to go.
  10. Our squad is pretty big as it is. I'm delighted Chalmers has signed as he is class. However, we are carrying almost 2 options in every position. That's not going to be cheap. We need some of the dead wood offloaded. I'm expecting outgoing and incoming. Losing Murdoch & Dempsey exacerbates it so we'll definitely bring in a central midfielder. Thereafter, I fear it'll be 1 out and 1 in.
  11. I suspect more than a few votes come from a particular blue arse cheek.
  12. A bit of expectations management from some and a disaster for others. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you!
  13. The worst thing about Calum was during Covid when I had to watch streams and he literally hyperventilated when the opposition were in our half. He also had no idea what was happening... Dobbie with a phenomenal shot there and it was like a pass back. I quickly discovered the mute button. I don't watch the "press conferences" because of his asinine questioning. On the upside, as I try to continue to be positive - at least our new player signing videos aren't like hostage or kidnap footage anymore.
  14. Aye, the best part of our external communications! I think Dave Smith does a lot of things right but f**k me that was an act of self harm. It's up there with appointing Hopkin for me!
  15. A hot thread, just logged on for today. Is it worth me reading back?
