  1. Young boy. 18/19 yrs old. He'll learn with experience. Went to ground way too often last night
  2. Lanark outmuscled. Should have been out of sight by half time. Missed 3 excellent chances. Lost out to 3 set pieces. We have not been physical enough all season. Gow winner came on 91st minute. Could have written the script. We will do well to hold on to 5th place now. Hope we don't drop off after a good season overall.
  3. EK 2 Irvine Vics 4 Good game for the neutral. EK hampered by a 46th minute last man red which Vics immediately capitalised upon to go 1-3 up. EK in it throughout and should have equalised when their number 7 missed an absolute sitter. EK have improved since we played them and Vics appear to have tailed off but are still in it. Enjoyed my pie.
  4. Incredible sequence of results today has helped take a little of the sting out of our defeat. Biggest winners of the day are Ardrossan. Very long odds on the Vics and VoC results. I believe Saltcoats were 2 up in first half!
  5. Lanark 0 AWR 3 Well beaten today. No complaints. A bit of head scratching by the majority of us at the composition of our defence in the absence of our first choice CB. Poor first half, went in 2 down. Competed much better in the 2nd half and lost an unfortunate 3rd. AWR keeper never had a save of note to make whereas our keeper had at least 2 excellent stops, plus another worldy that was ruled offside
  6. He's got previous for this type of behaviour. I believe he got a 7 game ban earlier in the season following his conduct after a red v AWR.
  7. Good result. Well done. I've fancied VoC to go up as champions so could have done with an away win tonight tbh. We are there in two weeks time. Every point critical now for the top 5
  8. Next 3 games for are going to go a long way to decide if you go up. VoC, Gow and Vics. We've still got AWR, Gow and VoC to play so lots of points to be dropped by the top teams, one way or other.
  9. Lanark 3 Newmains 0 We played very well from minute 1 today ( in which we should have scored). Created lots of chances and should have won by many more. 2nd v 1st next weekend and an upcoming fixture v VoC. In our own hands..
  10. Agree with you both. Always worth the effort, regardless of the result
  11. Saltcoats 1 Lanark 7 Went behind to a real route 1 opener from a bye kick! Saltcoats down to 10 men for last man challenge on 19 minutes. We were absolutely honking until the 50th minute although did manage to equalise before half time. Then it all clicked and we scored some excellent goals. Saltcoats young keeper had 4 excellent second half saves too. Interesting incident when our striker through on goal and looking to round the keeper. Last ditch , last man challenge sees a foul given on edge of the box ( I actually thought he got the ball tbf). We are all expecting another red but ref produces a yellow. Bench remonstrates to which the ref responds - "he took a whoor o' a touch" as if to say he wasn't in a goalscoring position despite being dead centre of the D and going past the keeper. Hilarious. Despite Saltcoats losing 18 goals in last 2 games thought their big CB a decent player We have been very poor last 3 games yet have secured 9 points. Points on the board at this stage of the season is so important.
  12. It had better not be us against the bottom of the table coming off an 11-2 defeat or we can say bye bye to promotion!
  13. Lanark 1 Lugar 0 Insipid performance by Lanark. Only positives are, 3 points, a good goal from a rare moment of quality and a rare clean sheet achieved without our first choice keeper. Lowest crowd I can ever recall at home. Easter and early Old Firm game certainly took its toll.
  14. Been to see VoC a couple of times when we've been off plus we beat them early on. Also seen AWR a couple of times, once when they won at VoC and when they pumped us. They are, IMO, the best two teams in the division. Little to choose between Larkhall and Vics. Lanark are good when we are good and create lots of chances for ourselves but I don't think we are as physical as the other promotion contenders despite the new management getting us much fitter than we have been for a while. Lots of if's, buts, maybe's but, at the end of the season the table doesn't lie. That will tell us who the best team is at the only time it really matters.
  15. 4 of the top 6 play each other this weekend so points will definitely be dropped in the promotion run in. My hunch is a home win for VoC and a draw at Larkhall but, who knows. Injuries, suspensions, holidays and dare I say nerves can play such a big part at this stage of the season.
  16. The pies are great down there as is that big keeper!
  17. Disappointing performance, yet again from Lanark. We can play some nice stuff but, we are not savvy enough against teams like the Vics, AWR etc. We don't have the dig or physical presence that other teams do. Will take a huge turnaround in mindset for us to go up IMO Vics brought a good number with them today. The youth clubs must have been empty in Irvine. Half of them weren't interested in the game. Hilarious watching them IMG_0461.MOV
  18. That is built into their game plan but watch them run when they are behind!
  19. I am with you, every day of the week. I missed Finnart on Saturday by my lad told me it was awful
  20. The clocks change next week and the midweek fixtures have already been scheduled
  21. Finnart 1 Lanark 1 I was unable to attend but I believe we were below par today, as the result suggests
  22. VoC management team leaving at this stage of the season is a big shock, to me at least, particularly given their potential to finish the season as champions.
  23. Cammy Lawson been placed on the transfer list, at his request.
