  2. Why don't Accies want to play us?.... Steve Clarke has expressed his frustration at Kilmarnock's two January midweek postponements after revealing the club's request to face Hamilton next week had been turned down. Killie hoped December's rearranged Premiership match could take place in the final days of January with Accies seeing their match with St Johnstone cancelled due to Scottish Cup replays. Having lost home games against Saints and Dundee due to cup clashes, Clarke had aimed to fill the time with another league match before facing league leaders Celtic. With the request turned down by Hamilton, Clarke was asked if he was worried about the fixture backlog. He said: "Not having the St Johnstone game is OK – but to lose the Dundee game too is what frustrates me. "It's a situation that could be easily avoided by having just one replay date and everybody should play on it. "Then we wouldn't have the situation where we have lost two league games to cup replays. "Fixture congestion is now something that concerns me because our game at Hamilton was called off last month so we now have three fixtures to fit in. "There is already a midweek schedule for the end of February – we play Hearts on a Tuesday night – then there is a two-week international break. "Then these three postponed games will need to be put in before the split. It's a little bit troubling that we don't have dates for them. "I believe we asked Hamilton to play next week because their game against St Johnstone has been called off. But Hamilton didn't want to play which I find strange, but there you go. We'll just need to find the dates and squeeze the games in as we can. "Whoever schedules the matches needs to have a good look at how this happens. The SFA and the SPFL have to come together and work out the best way to fit these fixtures in. Certainly one replay date would save some confusion."
  3. This must be a bit worrying for you guys..... https://stv.tv/amp/1406974-archibald-partick-thistle-squad-too-big-for-new-signings/?__twitter_impression=true
  4. At the Hampden semi final V Ayr Utd...... Another I found searching my phone's gallery.....
  5. Tommy Adams even did part of his trek for Lewis in their stadium last year before kickoff.
  6. Wishing Jeff Strasser a speedy recovery, incidentally the FCK fans are over this weekend for our game at Pittodrie....... A Bundesliga 2 game between Darmstadt and Kaiserslautern was abandoned due to a "medical emergency" involving Kaiserslautern boss Jeff Strasser. The two teams had played out a goalless first half when former Luxembourg defender Strasser, 43, was taken ill. "We are all reminded on days like today that there are more important things than football," said Darmstadt president Rudiger Fritsch. Kaiserslautern tweeted that Strasser had been taken to hospital. Strasser has been in charge of Kaiserslautern since September. He played for Kaiserslautern as a defender during his career. His other former clubs include Borussia Monchengladbach and Metz.
  7. So The Rangers value Alfredo Morelos at £10m. I hope they're paying him the wage of a £10m player [emoji108]
  8. Rumour that Greer wants back down south to be with his family, I believe he's only up here Thur, Fri & Sat or for midweek games as it is. Possibility of release by mutual consent before window closes.... Only speculation so far thou.
  9. Rumour of a central defender signing, one of the two Black guys in club tracksuits at yesterday's game..... Apparently it's Sébastien Aymar Bassong Nguena.
  10. Hopefully Erwin kicks on now...... Steve Clarke praised Lee Erwin for his attitude and application after the striker fired Killie into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup. Erwin came off the bench to score a late penalty to see the Rugby Park men edge past County at home and book their spot in the next stage. It was Erwin's first goal since August and Clarke has sensed a renewed belief in the 23-year-old in recent weeks. He said: "I'm delighted for him [Erwin]. He’s been working really well since we came back from the winter break so we’ve had a couple of good weeks training. "Lee has shown up really well so I don’t know what’s happened over the break but he’s obviously gone away and re-assessed himself. He’s come back and shown his qualities in training and that’s what I told him before I put him on. "I said ‘go on and do what you do in training’ and don’t get too uptight about it. Hopefully that goal will start the second half of the season for Lee and he’ll do better in the second half than he did in the first half. "He’s a striker and strikers live for their goals. They don’t think about missing, they just think about getting a hold of the ball. Kris Boyd our regular penalty taker was off the pitch and Lee had the confidence to take it, which is good."
  11. Yeah, Bell injured his knee in training on Thursday, was due to start today but now ruled out.
  12. Killie V St Johnstone game is OFF on Wed night. Saints rearranged Scottish Cup tie to be played instead....
  13. From what I've heard SC is only having a look at present with a view to possible changes in the summer.....
  14. Rangers manager Graeme Murty says he DID make contact with Steven Naismith in the January transfer window. But the Ibrox gaffer said he decided against bringing in the experienced striker because he didn't want to have too many options in attack. Heard it all now.... Ahhh, the banter years [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-contact-steven-naismith-graeme-11881483.amp?__twitter_impression=true
  15. Reading goalkeeper George Legg is in training this week so Clarke can assess him.....
  16. Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke believes Ayr United boss Ian McCall would be better off concentrating on his own side following his comments regarding Rangers' Jordan Jones bid. McCall had claimed Northern Irish winger Jones was not worth half the reported £350k put forward by Graeme Murty's Light Blues - an offer that fell well short of Clarke's valuation. The Honest Men boss guided his League One outfit to victory over a Killie side featuring Jones in an early season League Cup tie. Jones' display in that particular fixture failed to impress the man in the opposition dugout. Of Rangers' offer for the 23-year-old, McCall said: "I think they were well off the mark - I'd pay £150,000 for him. "He was their main threat, but he didn't really do anything - there was no end product. "For me, paying £350,000 is a lot in Scottish football." Clarke has now hit back at those comments, insisting McCall's focus should instead be on repaying the faith of the Ayr board after the club suffered relegation last season. He said: "Ian gave an opinion but it's not one I would agree with. "He's entitled to that opinion but it might be better for Ian to concentrate on Ayr and make sure he repays the faith the directors have shown in him." There's been nothing apart from the initial bid, I don't understand what all the furore was about. Steve Clarke on Rangers' interest in Jordan Jones The former Chelsea coach also dismissed the "furore" surrounding Jones' immediate future at Rugby Park, insisting it's normal practice for talented players to be coveted by other clubs. He added: "There's been nothing apart from the initial bid, I don't understand what all the furore was about. "It's a normal part of football business, Rangers made an offer for a player that we value quite highly here at Kilmarnock, we felt it was too low and turned it down and that was that in a nutshell." Jones' teammate Rory Mackenzie is also attracting interest from Kilmarnock's Premiership rivals. Mackenzie's Rugby Park contract expires at the end of the season but St Johnstone are hopeful of securing the wide man six months early. Clarke, however, is keen to hold on to the 24-year-old and give the Scotland Under-21 cap the chance to earn a new deal. "It's part of modern football," he added. "Rory is in a situation where he can speak to other clubs. "I believe he has spoken to St Johnstone who want to take him now. "We'd rather keep him until the end of the season, and between now and then he has the chance to impress and earn another contract."
  17. Appatently 2 guys in on trial, one is the Villa lad Clarke worked with, can't spell it never mind pronounce it lol. No idea who the other is. Edit.... It's Aaron Tshibola. Cost Villa £5.3m when they signed him, surely can't be too bad.....
  18. Rory knocked back an American college scholarship choosing football instead, he's been the Killie FC golf tourney champ for years. He's also currently studying to be a lawyer once he hangs up his boots.
  19. He took a lot of unwarranted stick at times, a scapegoat if you will, but he's a likeable guy who does have a very good engine.
  20. I have to agree Dindy, Rory has become stale with us, a move is probably best for all three parties.
