  1. That's got to be a blow for Livi. I've heard it's the assistant manager who pulls all the strings there.
  2. You'd imagine Adam would ruin him but Gowser would absolutely fight dirty. I'd like to see it.
  3. So glad someone giffed that. I can well imagine Gowser being the sort of guy who'd just whinge at you endlessly until you cracked.
  4. He has that magic quality of being a third-choice keeper who's happy to be third-choice.
  5. Fair enough. I'm personally a fan of a lazy striker, but to be fair he wasn't really doing that especially well either, so happy to go with Jim's decision. I think you can see he wants to play with busy strikers who work the channels and close defences down - the win at Parkhead was the model for that, and in Dennis and Brophy we have two players that will absolutely do it well. I'd say this is comparable (in a way) to Danny Lennon leaving. Plenty of people love the guy, everyone knows it's for the best, but we'll only know it's really the right decision if the replacement is above par.
  6. Morton been well on top, much the better side IMO. That was deserved.
  7. Can only assume Lyon is so bored of playing in this game that he's desperately trying to talk himself into a second yellow.
  8. Actually thought you started this half not too badly; you've just got f**k all happening in the final third. The game's absolute murder to watch, mind.
  9. The real tragedy being that he never got the four-stands ovation that he deserved when we played you guys this season.
  10. I think Jim's mind was probably made up around the time he was specifically talking about our forwards not quite being up to scratch, probably around the tail end of the nightmare run at the start of the season. As much as I like the guy, it probably is the right decision. Obviously the dynamic could shift slightly if Obika starts knocking them in for a rival (if/while) we're labouring with Erwin next season. In fact, I'd say that scenario could put a lot of pressure on Goodwin, so he must be very confident in our transfer plans this summer.
  11. "Their support made me and my family happy." Lovely interview with the big man. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/jon-obika-pays-emotional-tribute-24124861 @ATLIS - it's been covered above, but if you do sign him, you're getting a wonderful human being.
  12. I'm assuming that's autocorrect in action, but, wonderfully, still makes complete sense. 'He's said it once, and has since confirmed it...'
  13. Lovely stuff. This is going to be precisely the kind of content I'm craving for the next couple of months.
  14. This. I watched Dundee-Raith game, and I've seen Killie twice over the past couple of weeks. Killie have obviously got significant weaknesses that Wright wasn't able to address because the squad needs ripping up (tl;dr their keepers are shite)... but they will have far too much for Dundee, whose squad is full of the sorts of players who look good at Champ level but would be basically pointless in the top flight. Killie's ropey defence will have a far easier time against the likes of McMullan, Gowser, etc.
  15. I still love Dennis, but he's got a real tendency to do a lot of work in the channels, which means he's not where he should be when balls come in. This might due to be frustration on his part, but I'd rather see him be a little more lazy.
  16. Yeah, no question of that. He's going to be a big miss. Off colour at the start of the season, but he wasn't alone there.
  17. Our biggest problem this summer is going to be the unending threat that McGrath could go. Potential buyers possibly holding on to see if we'll weaken and let him go for less, all the while we can't replace him on the off-chance he stays. The uncertainty will be horrendous to live with, but I don't think there's any getting around it, short of him signing an extension. There's a good chance of an RoI call-up for their summer training camp, too, which will raise his profile further still. If he is to move on, then a big, early bidding war would definitely be best all round.
  18. Mason's just said his goodbyes too. It was a neat reminder that he was still at the club.
  19. £400k + 30% will do it for McGrath. My actual wild prediction: Hibs will take him for 150k + Scott Allan + the sell-on.
  20. I do wonder if Jim might consider going Brophy+Dennis+Erwin+Jamieson next season. I think Erwin's getting better and while he'll never be a goal machine, I think those hoping he might get paid off are going to be disappointed. If I was pushing the boat out for any position over the summer, it'd be for a big, complete experienced CM.
