  1. It was late at night and a lot of folk were nearing the end of their tethers, for a number of reasons. I think we can all put it behind us.
  2. The tweeter writes for Not The Old Firm, which I tend to think is a pretty good website. Here's hoping that's true and we can all calm the f**k down.
  3. The bit about the injury crisis: two goalkeepers were fit and healthy. If we'd had ten goalies all training together, the situation would likely have remained the same. The bit about Waters being our best left back for years: he was fucking gash. Mateo Muzek was better. The bit about us replacing Waters with an injured player: we replaced him with Richard Tait. The bit about us finishing in the top four: we're obviously not going to. Aside from those bits, you did very well. Nice one m8.
  4. This is what worries me a bit: the 3-5-2 was one of our better performances of the season, and McGrath/Morias did well in alien wingback positions, but that's not really a solution. I did wonder if we could use the new defenders to go with five across the back - perm it however you want, Tait in the middle with Mason on the left; Finlayson in the middle with Tait at LWB and Fraser or Morias on the right - leaving Ethan and Cammy in midfield, McGrath in his proper position and two strikers up front. Until we realise that 3-5-2 is typically a bombscare and we have to change again.
  5. Cov fans (on Twitter and Instagram... I know, I know) seem to rate him. Guess we'll find out his condition tomorrow night, if he's anywhere near our squad.
  6. As an aside, though, given that all parties - including the player himself - has failed to mention this injury, I'm now wondering if Coventry's prognosis was simply wrong. The player himself has tweeted that he can't wait to meet everyone and get started. Surely he wouldn't have put that if he was swapping one treatment table in the Midlands for another in Paisley? (I'm fully grasping at straws here, in case that's not clear. Surely to f**k we're not that incompetent. )
  7. I'm honestly not sure why you're still beating this drum. Our squad is already thin as hell. Are you suggesting we should have attempted the first round of games with even fewer players? The Magennis leaving rumours have been circulating for a while; not ideal that he's gone, but he's been injured anyway; yes the fullback appears to have been a huge f**k-up. ButI still can't believe you think we should have waited to the end of the window to do more business. It's literally nonsensical.
  8. May have got excited prematurely: there were reports at recently as last week that he was out for eight weeks with medial knee ligament damage. So goodness knows what's going on.
  9. Brandon Mason joins. At last, some defensive cover. Mental that we've got this far into the season without it.
  10. Presumably why there's an option to buy him built into the deal. If he was really rated at Ibrox, they'd just be loaning him to us. As you say, that's not to say he's not good enough for us, and we desperately need cover.
  11. What pisses me off is that I can handle being shite on the park. We've been shite on and off, mostly on, for large stretches of my life. That's just a game. But I hate our club being rubbish off the field: that's people's lives and jobs and reputations. Communication is easy. Not being dicks is easy. So how do we manage to foul this up time and again? I was so happy when football came back. It was a shot of normality that I really needed. But we keep finding ways to completely f**k it up.
  12. Yeah, agreed. No doubt you're in a better position to command bigger fees for players. That McGinn sale was our biggest ever transfer fee. I'm 100% comfortable with the arrangement, at least until we actually get our fucking act together as a football club. And yes, Tom English is ridiculous. I wonder if he was watching last night.
  13. That's a wanky statement, tbh. They fucked up their media management last week, and they've compounded it with this. St Mirren not covering themselves with glory either on or off the park at the minute. That five-year contract is interesting, though, especially if there's a sell-on clause: if he pulls up trees in his first two seasons, there's no reason to suggest he won't attract interest from down south from clubs keen to find the next McGinn.
  14. Been saying for ages the only defender we could bring in would have to be an old journeyman or a young kid, because of the lack of opportunities. Weirdly, there would already have been plenty of chances for a back-up defender and I assume there will be many more. I hope he's better than Baird or there'll be hell on.
  15. I was worried your twattery wouldn't get the audience it deserved in a dying match day thread.
  16. Alexa, show me an example of a post biting a c**t right on his fat arse...
