  1. If we are going two for each position, then you'd expect a gulf in quality between some of the players. Like, maybe Longridge fills a gap in the squad, but you'd hope he's understudy to someone much better. Isma, Lewis Morgan, someone like that. If we can get Miller in, then he provides cover in a couple of places for just one wage, which is useful.
  2. We were and I hope he gets absolutely nowhere near us. Useless fucking lump. Edit: United aren't fucking about, mind. Imagine taking on the Championship with May and Shankland up front. Make it all the funnier when they get beaten by Morton on penalties in the playoff semi final.
  3. Yeah, was gonna mention Stewart. Not sure how they've managed to ruin him quite so much. I'd definitely take May. I'm not sure how much better we could realistically hope for, tbh.
  4. It'll be interesting to see the nick the squad is in - physically and mentally - after coming back from Spain. It was the Spain trip last year when things allegedly started to unravel for Stubbs. We're ahead of ourselves, year-on-year, if the established players don't detest the manager and aren't already resenting the pile of absolute jobbers who've been brought in.
  5. Yeah, I'm assuming he's away. Shame. I worry that we don't have enough room in the squad for two left backs - more likely we get in someone like that Gary Miller who could maybe fill in there if needed, as well as in other positions. And yeah, I hope Erhahon doesn't get exposed like that again. Won't help his development getting roasted in a position he doesn't like.
  6. Strong possibility, though he has said he's going to limit loan numbers if possible. I always feel like fullbacks are fairly safe loan acquisitions, so a left back and wide player would be ideal. Hopefully not many others on loan after that.
  7. It's going back a bit, but we've binned off (or written off) strikers in the past who have gone on to better things - nobody shed a tear when Magennis and Iwelumo left us (I know Josh Magennis was on loan, but the point stands.) He adapted to a lot last season, had a lot of niggling injuries, and emerged with a lot of credit. I'm very glad he still has another year to go and I think he'll surprise a lot of people. For the record, I was also quite excited about Callum Ball, so feel free to bookmark this.
  8. I've genuinely got a good feeling about Cody Cooke. His attitude is clearly first rate, and I think he'll have taken a lot of confidence from his performances in very testing playoff games. Not least making Connolly completely lose the plot. If we set up right and concentrate on getting balls into the box, I reckon he could be an 8-10 goal striker this season.
  9. Aye, bolt from the blue that one. It's fine; he kept us up, we can all move on, I hope he's happy. Don't know much about him - where does he play? We could definitely do with a versatile back up in a few positions - the Hodson role, if you will.
  10. It's clear that Hartley's metabolism was the source of all his managerial prowess.
  11. Plus, you never know if you're going to get the one who simply doesn't give a f**k, who turned up in his second spell with us and then subsequently with Morton. PS: Hibs, congrats on all the monies. Decent club, good guys, hope you do something meaningful with it.
  12. All true. As for the bit in bold, I guess we'll never know. We've all heard the rumours, there's no point repeating them, but something doesn't quite add up here.
  13. I've always been the first to say he should get another crack of the whip; new manager, new start, etc - especially because the only way we're getting value from our fee is if we help him turn into a player. But that's now four managers who haven't fancied him, including the one who bought him and, apparently, the one who took him on loan at Kidderminster. TTG, I reckon.
  14. We will. Would you like a compilation quote post of all the claims you've made about St Mirren over the past few weeks?
  15. It's bizarre: first we appoint a manager that nobody's immediately ripping the piss out of, and now we're (hopefully) nicking a player that our relegation rivals aren't happy about losing. At least we've had some bad news today re Mihai or it'd all be getting a bit too positive for my own comfort.
  16. Of course. Sweet. (Just to clarify: I knew he had pedigree, obviously, just wasn't sure if his injuries had taken their toll to too great an extent.)
  17. A real quality player but just wasn't fit enough last season. We saw towards the end of the season how good he can be. So a good signing for a team like us, then, if he's got fitness?
