  1. I am the manager of Nitten Star u20s. Neither me nor anyone connected with the u20s have posted on this thread at any point. The first team stuff is absolutely nothing to do with me, or us, do not involve us in this conversation again. We enjoy it at the club and are half way through a 3/4 year project with a very young exciting squad and we want to see that through to the end before the players move on to play in the senior game. We have been approached about first team jobs elsewhere and turned them down for these reasons, so to suggest we are desperately making up rubbish on forums to get a first team job is absolutely nonsense. Its pathetic. "if its true or not i don't know" - I would suggest you know fine well it isn't true. You realise saying stuff like that could cause rifts or issues at the club, or perhaps that was your intention here. People have far too much time on their hands, find something useful to do rather than spending time talking absolute rubbish on faceless forums.
  2. Is it confirmed the 20s season will definitely start on 17th July?
  3. In typical Scottish football style, anyone who does well and might move up a level or take on a bigger challenge gets slated, and usually by guys who couldn’t/wouldn’t be up to the task themselves. It sounds like the gentleman above would rather Craigroyston folded than an amateurs management team step up and give it a go. Not sure if it’s jealousy or simply making yourself feel better by way of trying to put others down.
  4. Dunno why folk whine like wee girls about this. It’s happened since day dot and will happen forever. If the player gets chatted up and goes your better off without them anyway. Get on with it.
  5. Any signing news or rumours for the Rose yet? Not heard much!
  6. Someone have the full LEAFA divisional set up for next season they can post?
  7. Has there been official SFA press release or comment on this whole licensing/promotion fiasco?
  8. Any truth in the rumour that there might be further announcement this coming week (Thursday) and that Rose may well go up? Might be rubbish before I get shot down!
  9. Restructured from top to bottom I believe e
  10. Exactly right, loads of options for players. Many would rather go and sit on the bench for Arniston or Easthouses rather than play amateur every week so they can feel better about themselves and pretend they have made it down George Street on Saturday nights.
  11. If ever a situation summed up the absolute shite standard of management and governance in the game in this country this is it. And absolute fucking shambles. Disgraceful.
  12. I feared that as well, and also the handball against McGachie on the half way line, I wondered if he would give a second yellow for that. I thought he was a very poor official. Btw - McGachie picking the ball up and punting it clean into the Forrest was comedy gold. I hope it’s on the highlights. Credit to the management for the changes - the front two that came on changed the game completely. Until then Broxburn won every header and cleared their lines every time, two subs changed that and started winning free kicks, corners and headers and held the ball up, they really unsettled the Broxburn defence especially McGachie. Completely changed the game. Horne could hardly walk for a long time and deserved a medal for getting through that game. Lewis Turner ran through 4 or 5 challenges late in the game from the right back area right into Broxburn half, absolutely brilliant determination. And then went from his own 18 yard box to the opposite box to score the third in injury time, incredible. That completely sums up the 2nd half from Bonnyrigg yesterday and as a team overall. Leaders all over the park. If you were asked to show an example of team spirit, desire, never say die attitude or winning against all odds yesterday was the best example you will ever see. Well done to them all [emoji257][emoji257][emoji257]
  13. Can Tranent realistically win it?
  14. I read it and thought maybe Ryan had maybe had a wee festive beverage! But I heard some guys chatting at the Roses game on Saturday who seemed to think it may end up with lawyers involved. Strange!
  15. What’s the score with the guy sending about 200 tweets to Musselburgh regarding an accusation of theft?!
  16. Good win today, was down watching with the wee man. First half missed a penalty, were really passive and a bit laboured but never troubled. Second half was men against boys and could have been more! Couple of the goals were top class build up and finishes. Stand outs for me were Kerr Young who strolls through games, Brett was class and McGachie who was unplayable 2nd half... but the boy Horne is like a Rolls Royce and everything he done was to a standard above everything on the park - class.
  17. I have been running an amateur club for 13 years in Midlothian and I would 100% agree that amateur football in this area is at the weakest it’s been in all those years. We had teams from every town playing Sat and Sun - Roslin, Penicuik, Gorebridge, Dalkeith, Loanhead etc and they are virtually all gone now. Many reasons as discussed above. But without doubt number 1 is that the players are simply not as arsed as they used to be. Simple as that.
  18. Did you find the info, and was it included in the programme? Duncan is my uncle
  19. So what is the final list of clubs in the EOS League for the new season then?
  20. Incredible. Has anyone got a copy of the league table from weeks ago when Lothian were miles behind with loads of games in hand? Game wise, what was the furthers number of games behind Kelty they were at any point?
  21. Thomas Cordery plays for Danderhall MW AFC Saturday amateurs and Salters Athletic FC Sunday amateurs in the LEAFA amateur league. Released by the clubs to allow him to take part for the day before returning to the ams to see the season out before returning to Junior or Senior football next season. He has represented LEAFA and Scotland amateurs Select Squads this season.
  22. As I've previously said, the EOS board should be proactively looking to recruit new teams. I am happy to apologise if I am in the wrong here, but it seems they are just happy to let things slowly get worse rather than go all out to recruit. Berwick and Hibs have had teams in the set up recently, maybe an approach to similar clubs on that basis? Or the other Universities that don't currently have a "senior" team competing at that level (QMU, Napier). Or of course maybe even speaking to David Ramage at LEAFA about encouraging applications from some of the amateur clubs and then maybe even working with them to support them. The criteria for me would be key - it's far to pie in the sky and although it's great to have a clear distinction between EOS and amateur, and it's always great to encourage high standards, the entry criteria should be relaxed to ensure the very survival of the association. Surely having to play at a ground with wee changing rooms and no fencing is better than no playing at all, coz that's the way it's heading. Massive 12-24 months for EOS, I hope it's positive but fear it won't be.
