  1. We get wee sly digs from some other fans about where our money is coming from and why we aren’t asking more questions or feeling uneasy about the level of investment. Open and honest interviews like that are why we as a fan base are relaxed about the the direction the club is taking. Of course we may be wrong but it certainly feels like the investment is built on a solid platform with sound business acumen rather than some individuals dumping some money in to get some quick success before leaving us with a load of debt.
  2. Agreed, it’s absolutely bowfing, even before you factor in the sectarian connotations.
  3. I don’t think we’ll see it again- far fewer did it this week and the ones that did got boo’d and when they went up to (I think) Jack Hamilton he clearly told them to leave the park. I think it’ll probably be lesson learned.
  4. The save from big Kev with his feet at the near post and the composure from Gullan to sell the dummy before releasing that rocket were absolutely superb. The rest of the match…. Not so much. But who gives a shit, the hoodoo is broken and this team have some steel about them. Being a part of the Rovers family right now is a great feeling.
  5. Past experience says Murray doesn’t like to play ‘experimental’ sides in games like this, he tends to stick to his strongest team. For that reason I think we’ll stick to Dabrowski, Dick, Murray, Watson, Millen at the back. However, the embarrassment of riches we have in the forward positions makes me think he may rotate the starters and subs for the 3 positions behind Hamilton.
  6. What’s happened to the k107 Saturday sports show? Am I being daft or is it not been on this season?
  7. Sorry, pre-morning-coffee I missed the tongue-in-cheek nature of your point.
  8. Scotty, you’re not seriously suggesting that the creator of the tifo should have done some research to ensure the accuracy of the train are you? Does it really have any bearing on the tongue-in-cheek point they were clearly making?
  9. Anyone know how many Rovers fans there were? A wee mention for some common-sense policing/stewarding today. When it became obvious that there were far more of the young team up the back than there was seats to accommodate them, instead of just making them all go back to their allocated seats they opened up the section at front so they could all still stay together. Thought it was refreshing to see that level of common-sense to avoid escalating any aggro.
  10. Dunfermline fans claiming that “it’s just another league game” while simultaneously saying that they’re confident because their team “are in the habit of turning up for the big occasions” is an amusing take. FWIW, now that the day is here the pessimism is setting in. My daughters first trip to East End- don’t think we’ve won there in her lifetime, let’s hope she’s not the jinx
  11. Final block now on sale and looks like a dozen or so tickets sold for it. Good effort lads, let’s hope the team turn up in the same way that we are
  12. It’s a long time since I’ve taken the car to East End- where is best for parking for away fans? Are the streets up Garvock hill fair game to dump the car or is that just going to annoy the locals?
  13. It’s either that I saw it on Instagram, then delt with my kids knocking shit out of each other, then stacked the dishwasher then brought the bin in then decided to post on P&B and got the number wrong….. or I decided that 1300 wasn’t that impressive so decided to add 100 to it to impress you Pars fans and hope you didn’t notice that I was exaggerating. You decide which.
  14. 1400 tickets sold for the away end according to our social media. Not bad going. Hopefully another few hundred before Saturday.
  15. Very much looking forward to this. The announcement of an allocation of 900 does seem odd though. Last week not many tickets had been sold but all of the seats forward of the stairwells were unavailable so we’re not getting those 3 full blocks, but even then a quick count suggests there are around 1200 tickets available in those 3 blocks. Currently the block behind the goals is pretty much full with the next one not far behind and the end one starting to fill from the back. I think we’ve probably sold around 800-900 already.
  16. When I bought mine last week we'd only sold about 150 I think. Hopefully sales pick up quickly once the Hibs game is out of the way.
  17. Never mind the stadium being only 2/3rds full, the stand they’ve allocated us is only half full and they won’t sell us any more tickets! Can’t imagine it would cost a massive amount to open the top tier, it’s not like there are more toilets or food kiosks up there (are there? I can’t remember but think they’re all on the bottom). But I guess the stewarding costs mean they think it wouldn’t be worth while. On a similar note, I was buying tickets for the Dunfermline game the other day (when I looked I reckon we’d sold about 150tickets) and they’re not selling the two blocks closest to the main stand. Presumably they’ll open those if we sell the other blocks.
  18. I remember going to Easter Rd about 20yrs ago and only the bottom tier being open until shortly before kick-off when they realised there were more of us than the bottom tier could hold so they opened the top. Seem to remember a bit of a rush to get out of the bottom and up to the top for a better view.
  19. I think Davie is spot-on with his reading of the situation. Comms intended for listeners rather than viewers can sometimes sound a bit odd when they are put with pictures. And comms from a live broadcast can sometimes sound a bit odd when edited into highlights. However where Davie gets it wrong is his opinion on his own talents- his live broadcast audio descriptions actually translate pretty well to video highlights so he doesn’t have to fear that he sounds disrespectful or anything like that. My preference is for no comms on highlights so it’s good to hear that they will continue with that approach but the comms on the last couple of videos certainly haven’t spoiled them and it was good to hear the unbiased analysis of, for example, Vaughans penalty award. While we are on the subject I’d just like to add (because I don’t think it’s said enough) how much I enjoy Davies interviews. If you told me he’d trained to be a journalist I’d believe you. Most club media guys rattle through a list of predetermined questions. Davie has obviously got a pre-prepared list of questions he wants to ask but he’s got that rare ability to really listen to what the interviewee is saying and relate his next question back to the answer so that the interview flows like a conversation. It’s a rare skill in someone who is not a professional journalist and a really big part of what makes Raith TV so great. Well done to all of Raith TV for their fantastic content but a particular pat-on-the-back for Davie Hancock for being such a fantastic “voice of Raith TV”.
  20. Julian Baker supported FRabbit on some of their later tours I’m sure. Her stuff is pretty good- as much as it’s great to pass our musical wisdom onto the younger generation it’s sometimes nice to take something from them too. Hence why, with my teenage daughters influence, I’m now a Taylor Swift fan If you ignore the poppy stuff then her songwriting is very similar to Scott’s- mostly stories of heartbreak, real and imaginary. Give it a try, especially the Folklore album.
  21. Unless Hibs fail to get through their European tie this week….
  22. Even if we don’t go through, looking at the other groups it seems unlikely that the Pars will get through as a best runner-up with 8 points.
  23. Really good chance of qualifying as one of the best runners up on 9 points if we win on Saturday.
  24. Agree with that mate. I should have written “found guilty of certain crimes”.
