  1. It’s a long time since I’ve taken the car to East End- where is best for parking for away fans? Are the streets up Garvock hill fair game to dump the car or is that just going to annoy the locals?
  2. It’s either that I saw it on Instagram, then delt with my kids knocking shit out of each other, then stacked the dishwasher then brought the bin in then decided to post on P&B and got the number wrong….. or I decided that 1300 wasn’t that impressive so decided to add 100 to it to impress you Pars fans and hope you didn’t notice that I was exaggerating. You decide which.
  3. 1400 tickets sold for the away end according to our social media. Not bad going. Hopefully another few hundred before Saturday.
  4. Very much looking forward to this. The announcement of an allocation of 900 does seem odd though. Last week not many tickets had been sold but all of the seats forward of the stairwells were unavailable so we’re not getting those 3 full blocks, but even then a quick count suggests there are around 1200 tickets available in those 3 blocks. Currently the block behind the goals is pretty much full with the next one not far behind and the end one starting to fill from the back. I think we’ve probably sold around 800-900 already.
  5. When I bought mine last week we'd only sold about 150 I think. Hopefully sales pick up quickly once the Hibs game is out of the way.
  6. Never mind the stadium being only 2/3rds full, the stand they’ve allocated us is only half full and they won’t sell us any more tickets! Can’t imagine it would cost a massive amount to open the top tier, it’s not like there are more toilets or food kiosks up there (are there? I can’t remember but think they’re all on the bottom). But I guess the stewarding costs mean they think it wouldn’t be worth while. On a similar note, I was buying tickets for the Dunfermline game the other day (when I looked I reckon we’d sold about 150tickets) and they’re not selling the two blocks closest to the main stand. Presumably they’ll open those if we sell the other blocks.
  7. I remember going to Easter Rd about 20yrs ago and only the bottom tier being open until shortly before kick-off when they realised there were more of us than the bottom tier could hold so they opened the top. Seem to remember a bit of a rush to get out of the bottom and up to the top for a better view.
  8. I think Davie is spot-on with his reading of the situation. Comms intended for listeners rather than viewers can sometimes sound a bit odd when they are put with pictures. And comms from a live broadcast can sometimes sound a bit odd when edited into highlights. However where Davie gets it wrong is his opinion on his own talents- his live broadcast audio descriptions actually translate pretty well to video highlights so he doesn’t have to fear that he sounds disrespectful or anything like that. My preference is for no comms on highlights so it’s good to hear that they will continue with that approach but the comms on the last couple of videos certainly haven’t spoiled them and it was good to hear the unbiased analysis of, for example, Vaughans penalty award. While we are on the subject I’d just like to add (because I don’t think it’s said enough) how much I enjoy Davies interviews. If you told me he’d trained to be a journalist I’d believe you. Most club media guys rattle through a list of predetermined questions. Davie has obviously got a pre-prepared list of questions he wants to ask but he’s got that rare ability to really listen to what the interviewee is saying and relate his next question back to the answer so that the interview flows like a conversation. It’s a rare skill in someone who is not a professional journalist and a really big part of what makes Raith TV so great. Well done to all of Raith TV for their fantastic content but a particular pat-on-the-back for Davie Hancock for being such a fantastic “voice of Raith TV”.
  9. Julian Baker supported FRabbit on some of their later tours I’m sure. Her stuff is pretty good- as much as it’s great to pass our musical wisdom onto the younger generation it’s sometimes nice to take something from them too. Hence why, with my teenage daughters influence, I’m now a Taylor Swift fan If you ignore the poppy stuff then her songwriting is very similar to Scott’s- mostly stories of heartbreak, real and imaginary. Give it a try, especially the Folklore album.
  10. Unless Hibs fail to get through their European tie this week….
  11. Even if we don’t go through, looking at the other groups it seems unlikely that the Pars will get through as a best runner-up with 8 points.
  12. Really good chance of qualifying as one of the best runners up on 9 points if we win on Saturday.
  13. Agree with that mate. I should have written “found guilty of certain crimes”.
  14. Agreed, banning people because their face doesn’t fit is not where we want to be as a society. On the other hand, banning people who have been found guilty of a crime by judges in a court seems entirely reasonable.
  15. That Airdrie kit is howling. This however...
  16. Haven't liked a single one of our previous yellow kits but that is a belter.
  17. Nothing to do with your opinion, just that the joke went right over your head. Think about the context of the strip commemorating a ship wreck and then think again what two Orange bands on the sleeves would look like….
  18. I thought Gullan had a really good game yesterday and he would have been my MOTM too. I also thought Mullen was an absolute stand-out for the first 10mins or so when we had all that pressure and then disappeared a bit. Agree that his deliveries were good, I think he’ll be a good addition. And lastly I also thought the removal of the young team from the south stand detracted from the overall atmosphere, at some points it wasn’t easy to tell if it was our fans or Pars fans making the noise and there were virtually no chants or songs coming from the south stand which my 8yr old was disappointed with, he likes to sing along. Really enjoyed the game though, two decent teams and a good way to spend a Saturday evening.
  19. No sausage rolls or steak and haggis pies in one of the kiosks (at about 4.15!) but the steak pie was tasty and the kids liked their hot dogs- a definite improvement on previous catering I’d say. In defence of the long queues, I’d say being a tea-time kick-off, maybe more folk than usual for that size of crowd were wanting food?
  20. The main advantage for a game in July should be strolling to the game in the sunshine and sitting in the south stand in just a t-shirt and not being Baltic. Instead I’m digging out the big jaiket from the cupboard. Can’t blame Viaplay or Raith for that though.
  21. I was telling a young lad at work about that goal a couple of months back. I said it was about 40yards out and only a few yards in from the touch-line I then went and found the video to show him and since then he’s thought I’m a blethering hoor. That and the Casa goal were absolute bedlam.
  22. If they were South stand seats aye but I’m not sure there would be a massive market for seats that no Rovers fan has sat in for 25years.
  23. You’d like to hope it’s a ‘spend to save’ investment. If better talent identification and injury analysis can help avoid signing more Keatings’ or Frederiksens and identify more O’Riordans and Hendrys then it may pay for itself.
