  1. Last picture clearly taken during the Loneliness and the Scream- that big fucking symbol is on the stage for Billy to smash The last ever song performed by Frightened Rabbit.
  2. 5 years ago today since the TMOF live gig at the O2. I think that was the last ever Frightened Rabbit gig?
  3. This sort of shit boils my piss. Us wee team supporters do not have a 'big team'. We're quite happy watching shite football without getting involved with any of that horrible bigoted shite and we despise both arse cheeks equally thank you.
  4. Some top quality research from bet365 there! They’ve named 8 Raith players. 3 of them are no longer Raith players (one of whom never even played a single minute). One is out on loan and two are injured. Of the two who could possibly play, one is an 18yr old who has not played a single minute for us. I don’t think I’ll be putting any money on any of those thanks.
  5. Hopefully all the shite about us worrying about relegation can be put to bed now. 12points away from 9th with 12 games to go. We are definitely safe from the relegation playoffs.
  6. It’s barely been above freezing for the last 3 or 4 days. 3hrs of 5degC isn’t going to thaw the pitch out. Take that chicken out of the freezer and put it in the fridge for 3hrs and see if it’s defrosted.
  7. Is it normal to annnounce extensions to contracts which run out at the end of the season before the January window is closed? I wouldn’t have thought so. I’m certainly not getting my knickers in a twist that we’ve not announced any re-signings yet, I’m sure Murray will have a good idea of who he wants to keep and there will have been at least initial talks taking place.
  8. It doesn’t work like that though. We need to develop them because they are significantly weaker than what we have in our first choice eleven. So by definition giving them game time makes us weaker. Maybe if we could get to the stage in games where we were two or three goals to the good we could think about bringing these guys on to give them experience but we don't so we’d be sacrificing results today to maybe improve our options tomorrow- but with the risk that sacrificing todays performances means we play in league one tomorrow. It’s not possible. Which is why the preferred option is to send the guys out on loan to gain experience.
  9. Don't agree- when you don't have the quality to bring on why would you change it for the sake of it?
  10. Plans for stadium redevelopment have been on the go for a long time before Silverbear were on the scene. All he said that connected the two was that Silverbear were keen on our plans for stadium redevelopment. I’m not sure what I got from the interview to be honest. As others have said, he certainly has a skill at answering a different question to that which was asked. My two main take-aways are; 1 - there is no fire-sale. Players won’t be given away to try and ease the financial burden. If the manager thinks players are not worth the money we are paying them then we’ll look to move them on, and I dare say if someone came in for one of our better players we may sell but there doesn’t seem to be a pressing need to do that. 2 - Sim will not simply sell to the first bidder. He’s keen to ensure the correct people with the correct motives are in charge, and he’s happy to remain in some capacity once he’s sold his shares.
  11. I’m more worried about Vaughan and Lang having to play on a shite surface (if it is shite- it might be like a bowling green).
  12. Strongest team in the Scottish Cup, experimental team in the Trust Trophy.
  13. Mental that a team as box-office as us can get more than half way through the season without having a game picked for the TV.
  14. Have I missed one or is this our first televised league game this season?
  15. Anyone read the Michael Pedersen book ‘Boy Friends’? It’s primarily about Pedersen's friendship with Scott and how he tried to cope with and make sense of his death. I’m about three quarters of the way through it right now and it’s really interesting (and obviously very sad). Well worth a read if you want to know a bit more about Scott, but it’s also interesting to read about the relationships Pedersen has had with with his other male friends, and if you’ve lost anyone close to you then the vivid descriptions of his grief with probably hit home too.
  16. I think folk are taking the ‘happy with the squad’ quote too literally. Despite what some folk are desperate to believe, Murray is not a moron and there is no way he’ll be ‘happy’ with our lack of goals so far. Reading between the lines I think the answer to the question is not that he doesn’t think he needs anyone else, rather that he hasn’t yet found a suitable person to bring in. If he says he’s happy with what we’ve got then it keeps fan expectations low and keeps player morale up. If he comes out and says what we all (including him) can clearly see (ie we desperately need a striker who can score goals) but then is unable to find one he then has unhappy fans but more importantly a squad who knows that he’s said publicly they aren’t good enough which is never going to motivate them. There’s no way managers can be 100% honest all the time, sometimes you’ve got to look past the literal and read between the lines a little.
  17. Thanks for you input, it seems well reasoned and was delivered very eloquently. Shall we just revisit it at the end of the season?
  18. I have to say, I’m not a fan of what appears to be our new annual tradition of releasing a horrendous rumour just before new year that has the whole fan-base aghast and in disbelief that such stupidity could really occur. If it follows the same trajectory as last years horrendous rumour and comes true at the end of January then…… then…… well I don’t really know. Pretty sure we’ll be fucked though.
  19. There are a few things that worry me about potential foreign ownership, not least the similarity to the Anelka model of bring in unknown foreigners (of course we are just assuming that’s what the business model will be) but contrary to what you’ve said, the one thing that excites me is the possibility of moving away from Starks. Its a terrible old stadium to watch football in these days- no opportunity to watch from the side of the pitch with an uninterrupted view and an atmosphere, away fans never near enough to home fans to create an atmosphere and always a load of empty seats, never mind a disused stand that runs the full length of one side and a disused terrace that runs half the length of the other. Location is good for the train but that’s about all it’s got going for it. An edge of town stadium with a (expandable) capacity of about 5-6k, as long as it had 4 sides, which included conference facilities, maybe hotel, restaurant, bar facilities etc and community use would be potential income stream for the club as well as being a nicer place to watch football and hopefully allow a better atmosphere. That would get me excited. Who knows what any potential investors would have in their plans but I hope it’s a move away from Starks.
  20. I think you’re right. Ads take a bit longer to load so you get the page, start to scroll and then the ads load and the page jumps. Awful probably overstated it. Frustrating might have been a better choice of adjective.
  21. Completely understandable decision, however I’m another who thinks the browser version on mobile is awful. Constantly jumps around, really not pleasant to use (safari on iPhone in case it’s maybe different depending on device/browser). Browser on desktop is perfect with Tapatalk somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately I’ll probably use the site less now, hopefully in the future there’s a way to make a more mobile-friendly browsing experience.
  22. I’m intrigued- what’s the connection that got us a mention?
