Agreed. I gave a wee polite clap to acknowledge the absolute fucking worldie of a goal by a guy who shouldn’t even get to take his tracksuit off in the majority of games. If I thought it would be the start of a comeback rather than a freak consolation I wouldn’t have bothered.

Thought that was a really good honest interview from Murray. We just need to see what changes for Tuesday now. A lot will need to change otherwise we won’t come away with anything. Despite losing two goals today I thought the problem was the midfield and the attack. Smith didn’t work up top beside Hamilton IMO and Vaughan playing behind the strikers is not as good as Vaughan playing as a second striker and he’s certainly not as good in that position as Stanton is. There didn’t seem to be much of a link between the middle and front today, the amount of long balls where Smith or Hamilton got caught off side was horrendous. It wasn’t a terrible display and but for an absolute worldie of a strike we would have won the game but it was just a bit ‘meh’ and you don’t win titles with ‘meh’ displays against teams at the bottom of the league who are down to the bare bones. I think for Tuesday Byrne has to come in for Smith. The rest of the personnel can stay the same but Hamilton up top with Vaughan just off him, with Byrne and Brown at the base of the midfield to let us get a hold of the ball in the centre of the park. I’ll also put the new hat I got for Christmas in the bin and go back to wearing the old one just in case that’s the issue.

Yeah, a real shame for him that he’s been stuck at a team challenging at the top of the championship instead of getting a chance at a team challenging at the top of league 1.

I’m in ESW as well, row U which is about two thirds of the way back. I’ll be pissed off if they do the standing all match thing again like at Tannadice. If they want to stand then fair enough but at least have the decency to go at the back where you’re not inconveniencing anyone.

100% agree with your second paragraph. First one I’m not so sure on though- I’ve not seen anything to suggest that Corr is anywhere near the level of O’Reilly.

When do you arrive/leave Tx?

I’d keep O’Reilly but I’d agree that does read like we’re waiting to see if something better comes along before we commit. Seems a risky strategy but can’t really fault the recruitment at all since Potter came in so I’ll trust them.

There’s a lot being said about the negatives (of which there were many from a Rovers point of view) so while the defence rightly get pummelled, I just want to take a minute to appreciate at least one contribution from a defender. The cross from Millen for the second goal was fantastic. Two crucial things for me moving forward; 1- how serious is Stanton’s injury? 2- how do we react to that defensive shambles next week in terms of formation and personnel? Hoping for positive news on both.

Disagree with that. The ticket is for a particular seat. Maybe years ago when you couldn’t pick the particular seat online and you just got what you were given, and maybe if the stand isn’t sold out but definitely not acceptable on Saturday.

Mental that folk think it’s ok to sit in a different seat than the one they’ve paid for. I was organised early and bought seats right behind the goal. If you wanted to sit there but didn’t buy your tickets in time tough. I didn’t realise this was actually going on on Saturday- folk would have been telt tae bolt if they’d been in the seats I paid for. The standing thing is weird behaviour but becomes a chain reaction. There was an old boy two rows in front of me who saw nothing for about the last 15mins as everyone around him was standing and he either refused to or couldn’t. And it’s also just as well we scored when we did because not long before that it looked like it was starting to get ugly between a couple of fannies with their CP company uniform who refused to sit and (I think) a woman a couple of rows behind.

Aye, we were in the same section but next to the aisle on the right so it didn’t affect us as much as those on the left but it was still pretty annoying. If you want to stand, buy tickets for the back of the stand.

Sod it, just bought mine. Rather give them the money early than get stuck with a seat out by the touchline. Also, nice to see them just opening up the whole stand straight away rather than the section-by-section nonsense they did the last time. Hopefully United will take heed for the next away game also!

A season too early IMO. Once he’s spent next season terrorising defenders in the Premiership (with Rovers, obvs) he’ll be a shoo-in for the World Cup qualifiers squad.

I celebrated getting that notification on my phone the same way I celebrated when the notification of Vaughan’s 90+5 winner against Arbroath came through. Fucking magic news, and as others have said, it really does bode well for others signing if someone who will undoubtedly have suitors from the Premiership is willing to commit for another two years before the January window has even opened.

What if we include assistant managers? I think Raith probably win that one with Colin Cameron.

That reminded me- the United player who took a full-bore clearance at point-blank range to the puss. Must have been a proper sore one!

Followed one United fan along the road back to the car who was on the phone to someone and telling them United will be lucky to even get up via the play-offs Bit of an over-reaction I thought. As lots have said already, it was a fairly even game decided by that moment of brilliance from Easton (and perhaps a save from big Kev and a tackle from Millen were just as important). Don’t think either team were at their best today, a long, long way to go yet and I’m sure there will be more twists and turns. Im just enjoying our best season for 30years while it lasts.
