  1. Surprisingly accurate. Although I can manage a bacon roll. Yeah…. Kind of comes across like that’s what I meant, but I really didn’t mean it like that. I refuse to comment any further on breakfast choices as my initial (tongue in cheek) post was that someone commenting 3 or 4 times to say someone else’s breakfast was a weird choice was a bit OTT and I’m in danger of reaching the same total on the same subject.
  2. At least you’re standing firm. I thought the opposite- if your mum is there to bring your bacon roll to your room then great but grown-ups have other things to do at the weekend.
  3. There’s a lot of nonsense on this thread but I think my favourite is the guy who insists, over several posts, that it’s weird to eat cereal for breakfast every day.
  4. Where have you popped up from? This isn’t true. Power in Pratt street down apparently. Floodlights on because they have their own generator. But with no stadium lights or cctv etc police wouldn’t let game continue.
  5. Champions league standard floodlights obviously sooking too much juice, none left for the rest of the stadium. Embarrassing.
  6. Can we talk about what the DAFC crowd display team is please?
  7. I was critical of Zanatta after the Hamilton game, not of his ability (of which he doubtless has lots) but of his work ethic- head going down when he lost the ball, not tracking back, pulling out of challenges etc. Basically all the things that Armstrong was good at last season. I didn’t manage to see the game yesterday so can’t comment on tracking back throughout the game but the goal certainly proved me wrong with regards to the other points. It would have been easy to let the defender clear it and it would have been easy not to stick the boot in to make the interception but he did brilliantly to make the chance for himself. Well done Dario, you’re winning me over anyway [emoji1360] There are definitely some areas of recruitment where the like for like replacements have been (on paper) downgrades, but JMcG always builds a team rather than a collection of players so that doesn’t concern me as much as it did when I initially heard who we’d signed. I still think we could do with a more prolific striker but we seem to be scoring anyway so I’m happy to see how it pans out. Certainly can’t see us troubling the relegation spots anyway.
  8. Dunno what you’re talking about Zen [emoji6] I’d like to blame autocorrect but was probably just subconsciously thinking about us getting humped.
  9. Strange thing to complain about considering you can view the stadium map and pick your exact seats online in a couple of minutes. At least the gadgie got them eventually. Fingers crossed he wishes he hadn’t bothered come 2pm on Sunday [emoji6] Aberdeen look an improved side this year though so I doubt they’ll have too much trouble getting past our injury-ravaged side.
  10. Who shat in [mention]Ro Sham Bo [/mention]s coco pops? Funny how we can be such a different team this year with just a few key changes. Defence is far superior, Dick, Berra and Lang all appear to be good bits of business. Still not really convinced with most of the other signings. Poplatnik looks useful, but I think one of the major things missing from the others is work ethic. Didn’t see the game today but Zanatta frustrated me last week as I always felt he was likely to shy away from the challenge. Successful McGlynn teams have always been built on every man on the pitch giving his all for his team mates. It doesn’t feel to me like we’ve got that just now. Hopefully it’ll come.
  11. I’m another who was in the McDermid end for a change and quite enjoyed it. The ground certainly does look nicer from that end. If we were able to have 1500 fans in each end I’d say keep it. However, I thought it led to a bit of a reduced atmosphere singing and chanting-wise. At 4-0 up and playing like Barcelona I would have expected a fair bit of singing etc but, certainly from the north end, that wasn’t the case. If we’d all been in together would it have been different? That’s the only negative though, was a positive in all other regards I thought.
  12. This is spot on. Obviously in hindsight the subs were wrong, but how many of us were sitting there after 65mins thinking that we better tighten up because Hamilton were still in it? At the time, getting the younger lads involved when there’s “no danger” of losing the game seems like exactly the correct move to make. And if Verian or Fotheringham scores their fantastic chances they had, then we win the game, the youngsters gain confidence and it’s absolutely the correct decision. Fine margins....
  13. Can’t even see it from the away end. Obviously we want to favour the home end but surely both ends could see it if it was flat against the wall of the railway stand rather than angled towards the south stand? Although if it’s usually wrong then it’s not that big a miss for the away fans.....
  14. Rovers fans this week: We’re absolutely solid at the back but no idea where the goals will come from. Rovers team today:
  15. That’s what I wondered. New person that’s taking time to get up to speed? Or the same person/ team that’s just running out of steam a bit after being absolutely on the ball for the last couple of years? Either way, the ‘club’ has proven that they know how to do this stuff, I’m sure they’ll take the constructive criticism from this summer on board and get back to doing it well.
  16. Agreed. The club and Raith TV have been given lots of plaudits by us fans over the past 18months in particular for all the things they’ve done well. It’s only fair that we also speak up and let them know when they’ve not done so well, and the (lack of) pricing announcements for walk up tickets and Raith TV packages definitely falls into that camp. On the plus side, since Raith TV announced ‘the lounge’ but with no details of what it actually contained there has been lots of speculation and discontent that this would mean lots of the excellent content we currently get for free would be moving behind a paywall. That would have been a disaster so it’s great to see it confirmed that the highlights and interviews will still be on YouTube.
  17. Haven’t been to any of the friendlies but bought tickets for Saturday. In the email from the club it says to arrive at your designated time- I didn’t choose a time when purchasing and there’s no time on the pdf tickets. Have I missed something or is this just a hangover from the friendlies when you did have to specify an arrival time?
  18. I can't over estimate how glad I am that we're not in the same league as fucking Alloa this season.
  19. Another one adding my appreciation of the kit used last night. Miles better than the actual home one. Nice touch with the sponsor too [emoji1360]
  20. Not really a fan of that either, but I didn’t particularly like the 08/09 half and half either. A Rovers home top should be all navy blue in my mind. Anyway, ordered one for the wee man and if we have another successful season I won’t give a monkeys that the new strip isn’t up to much.
  21. Yeah praying for a signing so we can have something else to talk about....
  22. It’s certainly been blown out of proportion that’s for sure. I was hoping we could treat him the way we treat every other player who does something similar, and the way our players are treated by other fans in similar situations. So we can’t boo opposition players at a football game now? It shouldn’t be a big deal but it’s been turned into one.
  23. I don’t feel the “monkey in the gloves” chants or similar are particularly relevant- that’s banter which is obviously open to the wrong interpretation when sung to particular groups of players so best avoided altogether. The Jamie Hamill situation was what was on my mind- he gets abuse from us so why is it not ok to abuse Todorov for behaving in a similar fashion? And just to be clear, I’m talking about the odd boo or “fucking cheat” shout here, not painting bedsheets with obscenities or burning effigies of the man. Point taken though gents, maybe our former player has made that option more open to the wrong interpretation. I’d still rather live in my naive world where you can call a spade a spade than in the very cynical world you guys live in where you can’t dish out deserved criticism to someone who doesn’t look like you for fear of being labelled a racist.
  24. If Shane Sutherland had been the one that got Davo sent off we wouldn’t be having this conversation which is a really sad state of affairs. Maybe I’m just naive and think we should be able to live in a world where there is no discrimination at all and you should be able to call a c*nt a c*nt without giving thought to what variety of c*nt he is and whether that has an influence on whether it’s ok to call him a c*nt or not.
  25. Nah, not having that. There is absolutely no defence for Davidson’s reaction. Not condoning that in the slightest. However, the guy has conned the ref into sending off our player for an innocuous challenge. We’re supposed to be getting that sort of thing out of the game. If Todorov was Scottish the young team would be giving him absolute pelters the next time he came to Starks. Likewise if Davo hadn’t made an arse of himself the focus would be on Todorovs cheating and he’d be getting pelters. Positive discrimination is still discrimination. Give him pelters for being a cheating twat, none of this “oh we can’t shout at him in case we’re seen as racist”. His ethnic origin should have feck all to do with anything. I’m an old boring man so I’ll not do anything so uncouth as boo a player but the young team should be getting ripped right into him.
