  1. Yep, the social media output from the club has improved beyond recognition in the last couple of months.
  2. Hearts hybrid pitch is apparently 2% synthetic and cost in the region of £1million, so not a massive amount more expensive than ours but I think the upkeep is more as you need to UV lights etc to ensure the grass continues to grow in the winter. As has been said, our surface is definitely better than a poor grass surface which is what we’ve had for large chunks of the season over the past few years.
  3. I’m not sure what your point is, but you are correct, I rarely have anything constructive to say [emoji23]
  4. Saw him at Cairnie Fruit farm with his family a few weeks back- I thought the short back and sides with beard was a vast improvement on the 6-all-over he sported for the majority of his time with us! The fact we’re speaking about his fashion sense confirms the fact he’s a beige manager. I’m sure he’ll do ok with Brechin.
  5. Afraid not, I heard that Silva played in goal and Hendry was also playing but no more details.
  6. Apparently we beat Falkirk 1-0 on Thursday in a bounce game.
  7. My mate who has Hearts connections reckons Silva is not the tallest Goalie but he’s a decent keeper and his distribution is excellent.
  8. Is that McGlynn in the front row of the picture of Hendry?
  9. It’ll no be needing scrapped once John is finished with it. Appointment booked at WeBuyAnyMinibus for 9am tomorrow.
  10. He’s sorting the rusty wheel arches on the minibus I heard.
  11. McGlynn was the man that brought professionalism back to Raith after the Anelka and Dalziel farces. We were a laughing stock when he took over and a solid, hardworking, well respected team and club when he left. Same again then please John....
  12. Uninspiring would maybe have been a better way to put it. The name that jumps out at me is Lee Clark and all I can think of is Gary F Locke. He’s failed everywhere he’s gone. Absolute no from me. I think Cuthburt would be a massive mistake too. Seems like a good guy, might be a good coach, may make a good manager some day but he’s only worked under Barry ‘no imagination’ Smith. I was hoping to see a Lennon or someone like that who was experienced and ambitious but I guess he hasn’t applied.... From that list I wouldn’t be too disappointed with Duffy as a safe pair of hands or Robson as a gamble. But then again I was ecstatic when Hughes took over....
  13. Unless he's been spoken to as part of the management team with Lennon and we're looking at the possibility of bringing in Lennon and Moore...... I'd be happy with that. Seems unlikely right enough but you never know.
  14. A 43 game unbeaten run spread over two seasons. The first of those seasons they went 25 games unbeaten and still weren’t promoted. In the second season they went the remaining 18 games unbeaten and he was still sacked not long after Christmas. It’s a no from me.
  15. Interested to know which of Clarke’s failures makes you want him as our manager.
  16. f**k it, Wardy you’ve worn me down. Sim, get on the phone to McGlynn and promise him whatever it takes.
  17. You jest, but now we have a pitch capable of hosting such a concert. Chris (and the Italian Coldplay fanclub) is just waiting on the call....
  18. And even if Italians did care and it did ‘raise our profile’ in Italy, what benefit would that bring to us? Will we start shifting thousands of replica shirts in Italy? A few hundred more subscribers to Rovers Abroad? A bus running from Rome every Saturday?
  19. I don’t think Cuthbert is the man for the job (at this time anyway) but I tell you what, that post match interview is the best and most honest manager interview I can ever remember. Well done Kev for not hiding behind excuses and cliches.
  20. Thanks Zen, didn’t realise there was a separate ‘cups’ section. But if it’s all the same to you I think I’ll just continue to pretend yesterday didn’t happen.
  21. As a relative newbie here there's a good chance I'm being dense..... but do we have separate threads for cup games or do we just ignore those?
  22. Gardening leave doesn’t make any sense in this context. If he’s resigned then we won’t be paying him anymore- when (former) employees are on gardening leave they are still on the payroll. It’s not like, for example, Formula 1 where he could resign and then go to a rival and tell them all our secrets. I can’t think of any reason we’d want to keep him on the payroll to keep him quiet or keep him away from rivals. Having said all that, I have no idea why you’d still be talking to someone who has publicly resigned.
  23. That’s bizarre, a mate who lives in Hamilton was playing tennis with him the other night. Apparently that’s where he lives now but he travels to Italy to commentate on Italian tv every weekend!
  24. Can’t disagree with any of that but surely if you are an ambitious manager who believes in yourself you wouldn’t see the negatives? Someone who believes in themselves will surely think the only full time team in the league with the biggest crowds in the league and a good quality (if small) squad who are currently sitting top of the league would be a good place to be?
