  1. That reminded me- the United player who took a full-bore clearance at point-blank range to the puss. Must have been a proper sore one!
  2. Followed one United fan along the road back to the car who was on the phone to someone and telling them United will be lucky to even get up via the play-offs Bit of an over-reaction I thought. As lots have said already, it was a fairly even game decided by that moment of brilliance from Easton (and perhaps a save from big Kev and a tackle from Millen were just as important). Don’t think either team were at their best today, a long, long way to go yet and I’m sure there will be more twists and turns. Im just enjoying our best season for 30years while it lasts.
  3. Meeting my Uncle and cousin (United fans) in the Balmore beforehand. United boozer but away fans welcome apparently (unless they’re setting me up to get my head kicked in).
  4. Don’t listen to him. Byrne is pretty shite. Hasn’t really added much to the team. Tell you what though, we need the numbers in the squad though so we’ll do you a favour and just keep him, ok?
  5. Stomach complaint for Hamilton tonight apparently. Fingers crossed he’s fully fit for Saturday, we really do miss him when he’s not available.
  6. We’re winning the fucking league aren’t we boys!!!??
  7. Agreed. For the first time ever I feel like we have the option to do true squad rotation between the midfield and forwards without any real drop-off in quality.
  8. 1172 tickets sold according to the club. 600 remaining and all the free bus places gone. Not bad going with 5 days still to go.
  9. All sections haven’t been sold. They release the centre section first and that is all sold. Then they released parts of the section next to the fair play stand in stages. There is still about a third of that that they haven’t released yet. The final section they released was about a third of the section on the other side of centre. There’s still a lot of that and the final section closest to the George Fox that have never been released for sale. Maybe they won’t release them but they’re definitely not sold to Rovers fans yet. The Fair play stand is also not sold to home fans so I’m sure even if we do sell out the shed we’d get some tickets in there.
  10. Currently only 14 tickets available for Rovers fans to buy. What a shambles of a way to sell tickets. (I’m not sure why I’m so obsessed with checking the tickets sold…)
  11. They seems to be opening very small parts of each section at a time instead of just opening the whole section. If you’re buying a ticket now you’ll be stuck right in the corner, if you hang off they’ll maybe open the other section which is more central. Pretty crap way to do it.
  12. He did yeah. More info here; https://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/service-area/city-development/sustainable-transport-and-roads/football-event-parking The shed only holds about 1800 I think- would be a tremendous effort if we need to get the Jim McLean opened as well. United only seem to be opening small sections in the shed at a time as well which is a bit odd.
  13. Looks like we've sold about 600 tickets for the United game so far. Being honest I thought we'd have sold more than that with the free buses and us genuinely having the chance to go top of the league. I suppose there is still a week to go, and we've had a lot of away games recently, and it's very close to Christmas etc. Hopefully we can break the 1000 mark with another weeks worth of sales.
  14. I reckon if Murray is fit he comes back in for Corr. I think Brown will come back in so that we can play 2 sitting midfielders and Vaughan will be the one to drop out (as mental as that sounds). Im also a bit apprehensive about this one
  15. There’s been quite a lot of chat (stemming from an interview(s) of John Simm) that we put down a different ‘underlay’ than Livi did. It sounds like this wasn’t by design, rather it was a ‘happy accident’ and we ended up with a ‘rugby spec’ sub-layer which improves the pitch when compared to Livi’s. You’d have to ask players who’ve played on both if there’s any noticeable difference.
  16. Worth re-igniting this discussion I think (after getting sidetracked by the sectarian nonsense). I think this post is absolutely spot-on. The whole strategy of the club is built around community involvement and being able to use the pitch for as many revenue-generating hours as possible (and expense-saving hours for training). It would be as big a disaster for the direction of our club as having to build 2 massive stands was in the 90s. It’s a shame that our pitch, which is generally considered excellent, is tarred with the same brush as the cheaper options laid elsewhere.
  17. I’m another one who hasn’t been to Tannadice since the 90s and bought tickets this morning. Hopefully we can get that away end pretty full and create a great atmosphere.
  18. Interesting stats, thanks for sharing. The late goals are needed because we start the second half so poorly most weeks! If you look at the table for ‘HT to 75’’ then you’ll see we’re rock bottom with zero goals scored and 11 conceded. It’s a much-discussed phenomenon amongst Raith fans, no one has any idea why it happens but it’s been a feature since before Murray arrived.
  19. Stanton grabbing the ball out of the net and running back to the centre circle instead of celebrating when we’ve just scored an equaliser 4 minutes from time tells you all you need to know about the character in this team. Ian Murray has built and moulded something special here.
  20. Don’t remember Inverness fans being such weirdos. Maybe having an arsehole of a manager is rubbing off on them.
  21. I totally agree with the first part (the impact on the experience for others) but bear in mind, there are people who ARE arsed for the atmosphere but still don’t want to be hit by a flare (or pie or bottle). My daughter is 14 and to be honest isn’t really arsed for the football per se, it’s the atmosphere she goes for. But she’s terrified of a flare getting chucked and hitting her like happened to Christina on Friday. They do add to the atmosphere but unless we can get their use regulated with safe zones like was discussed on the podcast and/or stop the wee fannies from chucking them onto the pitch/into the crowd then I’d rather they weren’t used.
