Apparently fans were chanting “f**k the EFL” in all league cup games last night.

I genuinely don’t see what they did wrong, they gave Bury more than enough opportunities to sort it out before expelling them.

It’s almost as if football fans tend to be thick as f**k.

I accept that the league work hard to keep clubs operating when they're in dire straits and have seen them work hard to do so when the club I follow was in trouble.

I do think however that the league is sadly lacking on a number of fronts & feel that criticism of their performance is valid.

Just my opinon but I'd say it's possible to drive a coach & horses through the owners & directors test, their decision to appoint Shaun Harvey as Chief Executive was risible in my opinion (*for more on that see the paragraph below on Shaun),  the league signed a media deal in 2018 that the majority of league clubs were opposed to & the league seems to have done very little address the level of debt that has been obviously  at dangerous levels for many years.

*Harvey was schooled by Richmond and Bates & has left a trail of financial destruction in his wake, Scarborough wound up, two administrations at Bradford City, administration at LUFC & left the club financially crippled. Prior to the league setting Shaun on as Chief Exec the football league rules disqualified  club owners / directors who had been involved in two insolvency events, it would be a bit embarrassing for the football league if the bloke banning owners actually failed their own test. Lucky for Shaun there is a clause in the football league rules which means insolvency events at football clubs pre June 2004 are ignored which is very convenient for the football league and Shaun & means he'd pass by the skin of his teeth.http://www.football-...4~166912,00.pdfHis role as Chief Executive of LUFC during Bate's crooked debt shedding administration exercise in 2007 was nothing short of scandalous. He was responsible for the match day programme and the club radio station Yorkshire Radio, Bates & Harvey used them both to criminally harass and libel ex Leeds United director Melvyn Levi. Harvey thought it was fine to use the matchday programme to accuse Levi of blackmailing the club, they printed Levi's home address in the programme and invited fans to confront Levi about these allegations (this is just one example in a series of events of the use of the clubs media to libel and harass an ex club director, if you read the guardian article you will see that Judge Sir Charles Gray found that Levi wasn't guilty of any of the allegations made by LUFC / Bates / Harvey)

Watched Leeds v Brentford on the red button last night.  Just a standard Leeds performance really.  One that'll see them top at Christmas then finish 4th, losing the play off semi final to someone like Derby or West Brom.

Lots of huffing and puffing but no real quality.

I thought Leeds were worthy winners last night,  Costa nutmegging the Brentford centre back before delivering the pass for the goal didn't strike me as too shabby

I'll leave the promotion contender chat to others, strikes me as madness at this early stage in the season.

Strange one considering they had a no bad start to the season. Maybe disagreeing over budgets, players? Don’t know just speculating

I read he hadn't been paid for 4 months. I don't follow the club closely but from the outside he looks to have done a decent job in really difficult circumstances

Transferred to Burnley last week for an undisclosed fee.
Also Roofe away to Anderlecht for £7m so we need a back up keeper and a new striker before 5pm Thursday.

Totally missed that. Did think it was strange that Roofe was going to Anderlecht. Good player and it's not really a step up.

Going into the last year of his contract, carrying an injury at the moment, if he passes the medical I think he's gone.

Just back from a week in the Faroes and saw a couple of games, so I'll post a few pics later.

Some people may have heard of the pitch at Eiði, which was reputed to be one of the most spectacular settings for a stadium in Europe.

Sadly, it's now used as a caravan park, and the new stadium is right in middle of the village. My photo from 2016 was taken before the new stand was built.

Great photos, thanks for posting them.

Depends how much Brighton want him. If he does go then Pulis would be a good fit for Leeds.

Was the knowledge Leeds were playing expansive football a thorn in the side for you Tony?

One club in a huge city, the only big fish in a county with a population close to that of Norway, Scotland or Ireland and no real competition. Leeds’ support really is quite crap.

 You make it sound like there is only one team in Yorkshire, I'm sure fans of Bradford City, Hull, Sheffield United, Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham and Huddersfeld Town would take exception to that notion Tony.

Thought it was a red tbh. 2 feet off the ground and out of control. It was a shame because a normal slide tackle was definitely possible in that situation.

I appreciate that in the ‘good old days’ it was the perfect tackle.

I realise this probably makes me a football dinosaur but I didn't think it was a yellow let alone a straight red, either way the opinion that mattered most was the refs and for him it was a booking

Leeds fans appear more deluded than the average fan base. Seem to think there is a conspiracy for everyone decision that goes against them. The ref really should have got his card out sooner because every time Grealish got the ball he was fouled basically, no wonder he feels the need to go down softly.

Out of interest do you think Cooper deserved the yellow today?

Haven't seen it on tv or had the benefit of a slow motion replay but I wouldn't of had that down as a booking.

Not me though I had white track suit on funnily enough. My ST went to my youngest son as I could only get him ticket in family stand so swopped with him so he could sit with my older lad who has ST with me in L37. Great view up there isn't it?

I was in L42 today, as you said a bit of a mad one for a dead rubber.

Just back. That was fun for a dead rubber. Villa diving first half and a terrible ref performance by Atwell really deserved that Klich goal. 27 shots again and 70% possession. Quite clear what we need to do to go up-hopefully we will have found our shooting boots for FFDC.

Long shot, were you or were you with a guy in a white Leeds track suit top in the East Stand Upper today?

Leeds won’t win the play-off. They’ve absolutely fucked it. Can they blame it on injuries? They seem to have been plagued with them this season.

They looked totally shot following the Wigan game, their form since the turn of the year has been pretty much that of a mid table side.  Even pre Wigan / Brentford I didn't fancy our chances in the play offs, perform there like was have in the last 2 games & it's a case of goodnight Vienna for me.

Re your comment on injuries I think going into the Brentford game only Barry Douglas of the 1st team regulars was injured.

@Bedford White A change from the  usual seats for me for the Villa game will see me up in the rarefied East Stand Upper for a change with you, better take the Vertigo tablets pre match.

You'll be sobbing into your flat cap.

You need to get up to speed, anybody who's spent a decent amount of time watching games in this league knows Millwall fans are the flat cap merchants these days.
