  1. We've been through this a few times before Rab, Leeds is my team. You are either angling or have a short memory, we've been over my attendance record a couple of times on this thread both times you failed to take up the charity bet offered to you.
  2. I've seen Leeds fail in the playoffs plenty of times, stretching back to Charlton in 87 and losing the replay in extra time. Since then there's been Watford, Doncaster and Millwall. If it comes to the playoffs I'll expect the worse and happily accept anything more positive.
  3. Most of us are fully aware our record in the playoffs is piss poor, if that's how it turns out it'll be just a case of live to fight another day.
  4. His Dad posts on another message board, he said that they thought it was a bad sprain and the angle of camera / footwear made it look worse. It looks in pretty bad nick to me.
  5. Played 41 lost 10. I suspect we'll have a few more twists and turns yet before this is decided, being in a battle for promotion with the blades brings back memories of the 89 season.
  6. Fair enough, the bet was clear enough and I linked it above. The bad news is the Mrs was looking over my shoulder as I was checking the purchase history on my most recent club account last night, she's smart enough to convert games attended into £s and is probably beginning to realise why we can't afford the car she really wants now I thought it best not to point out the purchase history I was looking at didn't include aways Change in circumstances may mean the number of games I get to next season drops just as Leeds make it back to the top tier.
  7. You wouldn't be trying to move the goal posts there Rab would you, the original bet was clear enough? I've done my fair share of Leeds games, I've had several club accounts over the years as I've changed addresses, don't have the login for the old ones. I made an effort to go through my purchase history on the most recent one and stopped counting when I got over 200 games. Spent last Saturday freezing my knackers off at Elland Road watching Leeds getting cuffed but feel free to keep up the "nobody on this thread goes to games" chat, it's a load of bollocks but for some reason the idea seems to please you.
  8. Link to the thread page with the original offer of a wager
  9. Just to be clear on the wager, here's my offer of a bet from page 202 of this thread following the exchange between yourself and Jake. You said you thought you'd seen more Leeds games than the Leeds fans posting on this thread, I was willing to bet I'd seen Leeds play more than you. You still willing to take that bet ? I get the feeling you think the bet I offered was different.
  10. How much are we betting? I've had a couple of different club memberships as I've changed address. I'll total up the number of games on the latest account & once you accept the bet I'll post the number. If you feel it's required nam,e the mod from the site to adjudicate on the proof of attendance & result. If I win the money goes to cancer research and I'll post the donation receipt up here.
  11. I offered you the bet re my attendance at Elland Road, you declined to take me up on it. Take a look back through this thread, still happy to oblige you if you like.
  12. We've been over this before, the bet I offered to you on this thread earlier still stands if you fancy it?
  13. When picking up your tickets at the stadium remember to take along the card you used to buy the tickets. Re a pre match pint, I'd suggest The Scarborough Taps and The Head of Steam at the bottom of the train station steps and also The Hop, its down the dark arches just about opposite Sovreign Street where you get the football special bus up from town to the ground.
  14. I see following Bielsa going through his pre match research at his press conference this week Derby have decided to set on data analysts asap, despite Frank's reassurance post Southampton that they do "analysis" too, looks like those above Frank feel he's been falling short on that front. When Frank is faced with a crisis in defence his answer is to try and sign an international defender, Bielsa's answer is to take a kid out of the academy whose just sat his GCSEs, play him out of position in defence and then go and beat one of the bookmakers favourites to win the league whilst keeping a clean sheet,
  15. Weren't the Sunday People part of mirror group back then. Bremner chose to tackle the accusations made against LUFC , the court found in his favour & he was awarded 100K, quite a sum for the time. Re Revie, I'd say he took the job in the UAE because he knew he was about to get the bullet from the blazers at the FA. https://sabotagetimes.com/football/leeds-united-don-revie-and-a-40-year-old-slur Five years later, as Revie walked out on the England job and headed for Dubai, sister paper The Mirror repeated the claims, adding United’s goalkeeper Gary Sprake as a star witness and widening the charges to five matches going back to 1962. Frank Munro and Danny Hegen insisted they’d been offered money to give away penalties at Molineux, while Bob Stokoe said that Revie, at the very beginning of his managerial career, had offered him cash so his Bury side would “go easy” in a Second Division relegation scrap. Revie reportedly considered suing, but cushioned by his tax-free challenge in the sunshine he instead focused his legal efforts on overturning the FA’s 10-year ban. In early 1982, though, there would be a court case. When The Sunday People aired the accusations a third time, now claiming that Billy Bremner tried to tap up Hegen from his pre-match hotel, the pugnacious former Leeds skipper finally brought a libel suit. For those hoping for definitive proof of Revie’s corruption, the trial didn’t go well. During the Old Bailey battle, Bremner vs Oldhams Newspapers and Danny Hegen, the latter, an alcoholic, was deemed unfit to give evidence, Sprake declared he couldn’t remember his original claims, and Derek Dougan, Wolves widely respected captain, asserted that he never heard any mention of bribes. On February 3rd, the jury took just two hours to find in Bremner’s favour and award near-record damages of £100,000. Perhaps most importantly, though, Oldhams Newspapers never produced the famed dossier, supposedly authored by one of their senior employers, and nor was it mentioned when Revie successfully sued the FA to overturn his ban. The FA continues to deny that such a dossier ever actually existed. Indeed, a trial that was supposed to reveal Revie’s venality merely underlined the sleazy world of newspaper exclusives. It emerged that Frank Munro only agreed to give evidence after The People had forked out £4,000 to fly him and his family over from Australia, and that quotes from both Danny Hegen, by then scraping a living as a Butlin’s Redcoat in Coatbridge, and Gary Sprake had clearly been teased out by cash incentives – £7,500 in the case of the Leeds keeper. Despite the fact that such accusations have been repeatedly debunked, once in front of a judge, it is necessary for Leeds fans to keep debunking them. After all, the man who succumbed to motor neurone disease at the age of 61 is no longer able to do it himself. Sprake makes a particularly unreliable witness. Not only did his memory mysteriously desert him when under oath, his biography admits he was upset that that a testimonial promised when he was transferred to Birmingham in 1973 never happened– a costly breach of trust for any footballer in the 1970s. In the same book, he also asserts that any attempts at bribery were “doomed to fail” because it riled the opposition. Well, exactly. Leeds lost the notorious Wolves game, were hammered 4-1 by Southampton in another supposed fixed game in 1962, and drew twice against Stokoe’s fellow strugglers Bury in the same season. So, not only did the notorious match-fixer not actually fix any matches, Sprake is asking us to believe that the meticulous Revie would keep pursuing a tactic that never once succeeded. Indeed, considering Leeds kept coming second – five times in the league in eight seasons, three times in the FA Cup and twice in Europe – the club didn’t seem to have financially-induced fate on its side. And if the charges are true, two league titles, two European trophies, an FA Cup and League Cup would require bribing more than a solitary Black Country drunk. So why haven’t they appeared?
  16. Remind me, how much did that accusation cost the mirror?
  17. Too early to say, trounced by the better side yesterday. Everything we're hearing from the club points to very little happening in terms of squad additions in January, if our rivals spend well promotion becomes that bit harder.
  18. I've seen my share of ups and downs.
  19. If you're willing to place a bet on that I'm happy to oblige you, we can let one of the mods on the site adjudicate.
  20. Correct but looking awfy good Years of watching Leeds conditions us to expect the worse, playing some great football in the games so far no denying that.
  21. Very early days, long season in this league, lots of twists and turns to come.
  22. Don't under estimate the attack on the football league in the club statement. MC is locking horns with them now, a scapegoat / diversion in the event things go against him would suit him. Bates did the same with Mawhinney post admin.
  23. I expect a heavy punishment if the club doesn't fufill their contractual obligations here and it's something we could really do without. Fans being pissed around by fixture changes isn't fair but for me this is not the way to go around tackling it. If Massimo feels something needs to be done he should be trying to get the support of other member clubs and attempting to negotiate changes when the next deal is negotiated. That's not the way this maniac operates though.
