  1. Haven't watched it in a while, think I got up to halfway through season 5, episodes are the perfect length for dipping in and out of. "You're a master of karate and friendship, for everyone!" The whole show has some cracking lines.
  2. Cheers, it is indeed from Budapest, would have been handy if I'd mentioned that. As long as we have the bus as a back up I don't feel too worried about going without a reservation, should add a bit of excitement to the traveling, hopefully!
  3. Sorry to bump an old post but we're stuck with this part of our trip. Sadly the sleeper doesn't start running until a few days after we plan to leave - typical - so it looks like we'll need to get the train to Zagreb (£24, I believe) then a night train or bus to Split. The bus seems to be around the £20 mark which isn't too bad, but since the train has sleeper cabins and is a bit longer we were planning on getting that. I've looked through numerous websites though and I can't find a) the price of the Zagreb - Split sleeper and b) if they can be purchased in advance or it's an at the station job. If the train turns out to be a dud is the overnight bus expensive to buy on the day? I appreciate you probably won't know but I'm clutching at straws.
  4. Downloaded it during a particularly boring visit home and got a few matches, not messaged any of them mind. Quite good fun spotting people you know though, any facebook friends in common and it is generally a nope swipe.
  5. I meet about 3x the Dundee fans to United fans per night out. Sleeping giant IMO.
  6. I see the new search area has been revealed by those in charge of the investigation.
  7. Thanks for the replies. I'd previously made contact with Scottish Hydro who said it wasn't them, and after that I was happy to play ignorant and sit on the 'free' gas. We use the gas fairly sparingly, even over winter the heating was on a maximum of 4 hours a day so I don't anticipate the bill being too bad, it just seemed frustrating having to contact a company that want to charge us money. Managed to make contact with the previous tenant so hopeful they'll be able to tell me the supplier.
  8. We moved into this flat on the 1st of July last year and within a couple of weeks we'd received a letter from Scottish hydro to the occupier (us) asking for our electricity meter reading. Once we'd given them it we were able to set up a direct debit and have been paying them since. Up until a few months ago I'd presumed this had included the gas but it seems this probably isn't the case, but with no gas company getting in touch with us we've been fairly ignorant to this fact. It's a property rented through a fairly large (mostly student properties) letting agency, but having asked them they say it's up to us. Bit confused as to why a gas company hasn't got in touch with us regarding our gas, which unless our previous tenants are still unkowingly paying our gas bills must be left unpaid. Should I be actively finding the gas company responsible for the bills or playing ignorant to the fact we thought it was all through Scottish Hydro? Worried come this July, or even after we move out in June 2015 we'll be getting whacked with a monster bill. Anyone been in this situation or have any advice?
  9. There's not much between the bus and train between Prague and Vienna, both take between 4 and a half and 5 hours, with the bus being slightly cheaper at £14 to the train's £16. The buses through student agency (http://www.studentagency.eu/) look pretty cool though, free wi-fi for as long as you're in the Czech Republic and you're own tv screen on the back of the seat in front of you for movies etc. Even more tempted to head straight to Bratislava for 12euros from Prague since it's about 40 minutes quicker on the bus and a bit cheaper then do a day trip in Vienna while staying in Bratislava. Did look into the Split - Dubrovnik boat but the timetable isn't up on the website yet, whether that's because it's been discontinued or they just delay in putting it up for a while I'm not sure. The initial idea was to Island hop and get the Split - Dubrovnik ferry from Hvar or Korcula to save us doubling back to Split to get the boat or bus, I'd expect the boat would be worth it for the scenery of the Islands.
  10. That's me booked the flights in and out, should be able to book most of the trains in a couple of weeks. Not sure what the best way to get between each city will be, anyone had any experience/knowledge about the best way to get between these cities? Prague - Vienna/Bratislava (Bus) Bratislava - Budapest (Train) Budapest - Zagreb (Train) Zagreb - Split (Train) Split - Dubrovnik (Think bus is the only option here) Was thinking about skipping Zagreb and getting the overnight train from Budapest all the way to Split but it appears the service starts too late in June for us. Put in brackets what we plan to use but if anyone recommends something else I'd be interested to hear it.
  11. http://www.pointerpointer.com/ Shows a picture pointing to your cursor. Amusing for a while.
  12. Cheers for the replies. Looked at Lake Jarun and it does indeed look stunning, hostels seem to be dirt cheap in Zagreb so will probably aim to get somewhere around there. We get to Prague on a Wednesday so making it to Budapest by the Saturday would probably be a bit too ambitious, which is a shame, will look into them during the day. Think we'll stay in Vienna, despite it being a bit pricier. A day visit in Bratislava is something we intend to do so we'll be able to see a few of the sights, if the trip proves to be a success I can always do it all again another time and incorporate it into that.
  13. Been having a look on the internet and it looks a bit hit and miss as to the border experience between Budapest and Zagreb, will probably just do it and hope for the best. We'll probably just write off the day as a travel day and use it as drinking time, which works for me. Unfortunately only going for 2 weeks means we've had to cut a few places out, ideally we want a full week in Croatia to take in Zagreb, the Islands and Dubrovnik (also the Brazil - Croatia World Cup opener on the 12th would be special in Zagreb or similar). The initial plan was to travel straight to Bratislava with cheaper accomodation and do a day trip in Vienna, but most people I've talked to have recommended Vienna over it. We've probably got scope for a night so definitely tempted to do a bit more research into it on the back of your recommendation!
  14. You sure? Most websites seem to indicate it's a 6 hour journey leaving early afternoon in Budapest and arriving in Zagreb in the evening, surely that would take into account any delays at border points? Especially with Croatia joining the EU last year. Quite limited by which route we take because of the prices of the flights in and out of Dubrovnik, and by arriving in Prague when we do we'd catch the Czech beer festival.
  15. Been looking more into this. Swaying towards doing each trip individually rather than the pass since the fares (advance at least) never seem to go over 20 euros. Looking at doing Prague -> Vienna -> Budapest (With a day trip in Bratislava between) -> Zagreb -> Split (Will probably try and head to Bol/Zlatni Rat) -> Dubrovnik. Can do the flights to and from Manchester for £94 altogether which seems reasonable, albeit without additional baggage charges. Think only one mate has said he's a definite for this so will have to try and sell this to everyone else. Zlatni rat looks absolutely stunning.
  16. Was about to start this thread myself but you've beaten me to it. Been looking at doing this with a few mates at the start of June, but still a bit undecided on how to do it. Pretty much in agreement that we'd like to head towards East Europe around Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland etc since the costs when we get there are likely to be much lower than if we do France or Spain, plus we've ot visited the east before. The initial plan was to go for 7 days and get a one country pass somewhere like Croatia on the cheap, but with no trains running to Dubrovnik (one of the biggest draws to Croatia for me) and if we're doing a bit of traveling then it would be nice to see a few countries in the same holiday. Since then I've been using skyscanner (http://www.skyscanner.net/) to look for cheap one way flights from Edinburgh and working our way down through Vienna, Budapest and into Croatia then a flight back. Obviously doing this would mean going for between 10 and 14 days instead, and we'd probably want a few days beside the coast at the end to chill out before heading back. I've been finding the German rail website (http://www.bahn.com/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml) decent for finding out the rough departure and journey times for trains around Europe. The biggest draw for me with the interrail pass was taking the hassle out of booking tickets for certain trains and being able to change plans at the last minute, though not sure how the £150 for 5 days within 10 compares to doing it individually. Though I understand we'd still have to book night trains for ourselves and pay the supplement, but it doesn't look much if you have the pass.
  17. Some chubby bird in a club tonight knocked half my tooth out with her over exuberant dancing, leading me to go into work tomorrow, and for the foreseeable future like your typical jakey. SEETHING.
  18. What are the chances of football manager going down more in the sale? Going to buy it at some point but not sure whether to wait and see if it goes down in a flash sale or not. Edit: Never mind, downloaded it for £14 off game.
  19. How close are you to the lad? I'd ask him outright if he was sleeping with your girlfriend while you were with her. If he says no then there's not really any bad blood to be had, you can't go your whole life hating every boy that's pumping your ex. If he says yes then from what your saying your teammates will back you up and eventually he'll be forced out the team, no point getting upset and excluding yourself when you've done nothing wrong. That's all fine and well if he actually admits to it right enough, if he's man enough you'd expect him to.
  20. First stop for IO in Dundee is Private Eyes.
  21. Went out last night and tried drinking a glass of water between every drink, woke up feeling as well as I've ever done after a night out. Definitely recommended.
  22. This x 1000. Usually middle aged woman who fancy themselves as some sort of extra to Desperate Housewives. It's either a G&T or their wee bottles of chardonnay. Arseholes.
  23. Aye, got a phone call there, was worth a try. Will be having strong words when I head into work tonight.
  24. Supposedly adding 06, 07 or 08 at the end instead of 05 can work as well, if the initial one didn't work. Not really hopeful they'll fulfill it but should know by tomorrow afternoon.
