  1. Pretty sure Kilt quoted Niemoller when he was getting perpetually bodied all those years ago.
  2. Willis Alves Furtado was superb yesterday and delivered one of the best individual performances I've seen from a Stenhousemuir player in a long time. The right-back he was up against was terrible and didn't offer much resistance, but you can only play what you're up against an Willis had him on toast. I've absolutely no idea about Willis' background or how the heck he found himself in Stenhousemuir but he could go on to have a decent career in full-time football in this country. When he's playing well, he's great to watch - he's adventurous, he's skilful, he's direct and he's capable of something audacious. When he's not on his game, he's a complete luxury and someone who looks hot-headed. He was involved in an alleged spitting incident in a recent defeat to Stranraer and he was sent off for an over-the-ball tackle against Brechin, neither of which were really on. I think the broad consensus amongst the support is to enjoy him while he's with us.
  3. I've mentioned this earlier in the thread but this is the only game I've ever had 100 per cent completion on. The final task was probably the best - clear out all gang hideouts within 24 hours. Traversing the whole map just shooting bandits, just brilliant. One of the greatest video games of all time, no doubt about it.
  4. Good to see Jim Spence taking a bodying in the thread. He seems like a pretty neat guy irl but his patter on Twitter is appalling - bigging up the police, putting over his Courier column (which always contains the most entry-level opinions going, no matter what topic it takes on), making jokes about liquidation. As "NorthernJambo" mentioned above, I began noticing he changed his bio with outrageous frequency, so much so I began to screenshot them. After collecting them for a year (1 September 2015 - 1 September 2016) I compiled them into one handy video.
  5. I've just had a look at "Andy O'Gormley" on Facebook and he's exactly how I would imagine an ICW fan to look like.
  6. What a goddamn Facebook page. What a strange little community.
  7. Can someone post a link to this Facebook page please? I've tried looking for it a couple of times but I've never been able to find it!
  8. Probably not, no, this team isn't creating a lot of chances at the moment, but Jack Smith just didn't look good enough whenever he was given a chance regardless. He works ever so hard, you could never fault his effort but his touch, movement and physicality was lacking. I think after about a fortnight Bomber realised he wasn't good enough this level. I hope he does well back at East Kilbride. And as for "1320Lichtie" - no-one likes an "I-told-you-so!" person. Get back under your bridge, troll!
  9. I also see Jack Smith's left the club on loan until January, returning to East Kilbride. I feel a bit for the guy but he was nowhere near good enough for League 1 football and I think the management team sussed that out pretty quickly. Judging by the standard of the Lowland League, goals at that level must be like dog years - seven Lowland League goals equates to one senior strike.
  10. I think this is good news. I appreciate the sentiments about beefing up the defence but I imagine he's playing for buttons and he's the kind of player that can create something out of nothing. He does have a tendency to drop out of games but he'll offer something no-one else in the team can.
  11. That's a big concern. They absolutely deserve a chance on the main roster - their performances over the last 12 months or so have been consistently brilliant - but the tag-team divisions on both shows seem to be a bit of a deadzone at the moment (Smackdown a little less so than Raw) and, like you, I think they'd become jobbers like The Ascension or The Vaudevillians. A damn shame as well, as I've only now been able to tell them apart (Scott Dawson = Geoff Keegan from Byker Grove; Dash Wilder = doesn't).
  12. Another couple of observations: How come a flabby jobber like Lewis Girvan is so highly rated? He looks in terrible shape. I couldn't believe someone like Ricochet had to lose to him. No charisma at all. I quite like BT Gunn, he seems like a cool guy. What a bad way to end the cage match. I can understand someone getting "caught up in the moment" and "letting their emotions get the better of them" but you can't punch someone on the top of the cage with brass knuckles. That just doesn't make a lick of sense.
  13. I watched this last night with a friend via the ICW On Demand website (which took ages to get going). This was the first time I'd ever seen an ICW show. It was okay, I suppose. I had a vague idea of who everyone was and what the various feuds were but with a lot of the matches featuring older boys from WWE, it was pretty obvious who was going to win and there wasn't a lot of tension or excitement in there. I liked the women's three-way, it was different to what I'd been used to in the WWE where one participant spends a lot of the time outside the ring before suddenly pitching up to break up a pin. The ladder match was pretty good too although it seemed to end a lot sooner that it should have done. I think they made a mistake with the order of the matches towards the end - the fight between Kurt Angle and Joe Coffey probably shouldn't have gone on last, it should have swapped places with that daft elimination match that preceded it. That was overbooked as heck, far too much going on in there. Everyone putting everyone else over post-match became a bit wearisome. As an aside, the crowd, especially the brers down the front, all looked awful, the kind of guys who talk very loudly in pubs and wear cheap headphones on public transport. Big, stinking neckbeards. They looked like they all smelled of washing that had been left in the machine for too long. I'm pretty sure I spotted "Randy Giles" in there somewhere.
  14. That was a thoroughly entertaining PPV. I can only add to what others have said but the tag-team match was sensational - you're always guaranteed a tremendous match with The Revival but that might have been their best so far. The false finishes at the end were great and I had no idea which way the match would go. Although it's disappointing to see The Revival lose the belts, it couldn't have gone to two better competitors. Johnny Gargano must be one of the best babyfaces in the company just now.
  15. What's the story with Joey Styles? I've seen his name mentioned on Twitter a bit over the weekend.
  16. Fantastic, I can see myself in the video there! I take it you were the boy interviewing people at half time? Credit to you, keep up the good work. Don't think there's many (any?) supporters in the lower leagues who produce this kind of material.
  17. I was thinking about Andrew Stobbie's point-blank save and I'd reckon it's more of a terrible miss than a good save - David McKenna could have scored by powering his header either side of the goalkeeper but instead the ball just hit off him. I don't think Stobbie knew a thing about it. Still, you have to be in the right position at the right time, so credit to him. There was a scary moment in injury time when it looked as though he'd dropped a long-range chip over the line but he did well to bat it away. I'll admit to knowing little about the Edinburgh time other than the lads that have played elsewhere in the lower leagues so imagine my disappointment when I saw Calum Antell was benched. He was one of the worst goalies around during his last spell in the SPFL.
  18. Took this game in yesterday with a friend. I thought Edinburgh City were the better side for long spells but Annan Athletic probably had the best chances (how David McKenna managed to whack the ball off Andrew Stobbie from six yards is anyone's guess). It certainly wasn't the worst game of football I've ever been to and it had enough intrigue to keep the casual viewer interested. Marc Laird was probably the best player on the park and looked decent whenever he was on the ball, while Annan's #15, the wee right winger, always caused problems with his crossing. It's a strange experience watching games in Meadowbank Stadium, not too unlike watching Queen's Park matches at Hampden but somehow different. The ground is a brutal, ugly structure and the running track around the ground made me feel as though I was in a building overlooking a football stadium rather than being in it itself (if you see what I mean). Still, a good view of the action and fair play to the big lads in the suits and ties doing their best to create an atmosphere. Shouts to the overexcited guy who looked like Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town too. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this final remark, but what's going on at Annan? How come they've failed to make any real progress since joining the SFL? They've got one of the best grounds in the lower leagues, a set-up that probably belongs one level up, but they're still kicking around in mid-table and occasionally flirting with the play-offs. I admire their loyalty to their managers - the club had had two since 2008 - but has Jim Chapman taken the club as far as he can?
  19. What a wacky rumour. I don't think there's any chance of this happening at all. Bomber's here for the long haul (something which I'm pretty pleased with).
  20. There's a been a lot of tone-deaf alignments over the last couple of months, the Brock Lesnar debacle being the latest. Remember Seth Rollins returned to a massive pop only for him to deliver awkward heel promos? It didn't make any sense whatsoever. Let the crowd dictate who they like rather than vice versa. I didn't watch the show but it sounded stupid. Last week, old man Foley was gleefully booking Charlotte and Sasha Banks in a Hell in a Cell match; this time around, he's warning them not to take part. The heck?!
  21. I can understand the clamour to play as John Martson again - he's one of the coolest video game characters I've ever seen - but I don't see the point. His story was perfectly told in Red Dead Redemption and I think a direct prequel would be a bit of a misstep (and might lead to unfavourable comparisons). I'd rather see a brand new story with new characters in a new location, with perhaps the odd nod to events in RDR.
  22. There's not much to go on in the trailer but damn, it looks absolutely glorious.
  23. That was a pretty poor episode all in. It started and ended well but it sagged so badly in the middle. There's absolutely no reason for Sasha Banks and Charlotte to take on each other in Hell in a Cell. We're reminded the pair are "making history" but the whole thing has been badly rendered and seems unnecessary. Hard lines to the lads in the Cruiserweight Division, their run so far on Raw has resembled the appalling Diva's Revolution of 2015.
  24. Man, I'm 15 minutes into last night's show and I'm bored already. Who wants to see the same guys fighting one another again and again? Who writes this? Who's booking it?
