  1. Cant help wondering if we'll give a few fringe players a run here. That not being disrespectful of Cally but we've got Luiyi de Lucas who impressed during the World Cup break as a trialist and was offered a contract but has yet to make his first team debut. Curtis Guthrie maybe could handle a longer run since returning from injury. Just please; no Longridge or Hamilton in the starting line up please. No point in giving Cally a two goal head start.
  2. The supermarket I think you're referring to is Lidl. Should be okay but very occasionally they have the yellow jackets out (normally just the old firm and Hearts). You should be better off here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/55°53'17.7"N+3°31'13.2"W/@55.8882428,-3.5208715,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m4!3m3!8m2!3d55.888242!4d-3.520323 Walk down the path and across the bridge and you're there at the away supporters end. Far quicker to get away after a five nil thrashing as well.
  3. As an aside from the general game on Saturday; it thought it was a time that VAR acted almost as it was intended to do. Very little delay in decisions; goals confirmed within about 30 seconds or less; very few irritating belated offside decisions pulling the ball back when the defending team have already won the ball back and are starting to counter attack. This in contrast with some of the games recently where its been absolutely painful.
  4. Three weeks ago I watch the game at McDiarmid Park and thought I'd seen the worst defensive display in the current season; I was wrong. Exactly what Killie were thinking with their man marking for Nouble's goal beggars belief; don't get me wrong; I'm not complaining but that was really Sunday morning kick about stuff. Conceding a goal to Doidge was a bit embarrassing; I supposed someone had to but even so.... Felt a bit sorry to the band of supporters who traveled over from Ayrshire for that. It could quite easily be suggested that every one of them put in more effort that the majority of the team they came to support. on thing that gets we is when we're winning by a few goals we seem to take our foot off the gas; we did that with St Johnstone as well and allowed them a foothold back into the game. Our gola difference is actually quite poor for our position in the table.
  5. Frustratingly no matter how bad Motherwell's run they always seem to give us a game.
  6. Pretty strong defensively but not sure how Shinnie gets the call ahead of Bradley or Kelly - probably an experience thing.
  7. You're meant to be receiving a £3m windfall for Souttar but expect it came too late to make any difference. Still don't understand the Watt situation; loaned to St Mirren but United still picking up most of the wages? Has there been a falling out there?
  8. I like Fox but am totally baffled by lack of movement in the transfer window. Loaning Watt out was also a bit of an off one. Have United got some long term injuries coming back that could tip the balance? Some intriguing games coming up in February should show whether he was right or not.
  9. Not a very settling thought; Hamilton in goal as well for good measure?
  10. Sorry to interrupt this invigorating threat filled with ground-breaking financial discussions Anyway will Livi got to three at the back format for this one? We've tried it before with the old firm with mixed results but the choice is far better now than previously with Boyes and De Lucas now in the running and Fitzwater finally seeming to be over his injury..
  11. No disrespect to Stranraer but considering he appeared fr us against Rangers thats a bit of a dip. Didnt he go on loan to Partick for a while
  12. Just seen that - joint top scorer for the championship apparently. What happened to the boy we signed from Queens Park a couple of years back?
  13. Thing that gets me is there are sides such as Ross County and Dundee United that you would think were odds on to dip in to the market just to try and tip the balance - but nothing yet?
  14. Really having trouble getting excited about this one. A visit to Celtic park seems to carry the same emotions as a visit to the dentist. It needs to be done so better get it over and done with an hope it wont be painful. All this being said, the team have been performing well, provided we keep 11 on the pitch there's a chance.
  15. I wonder about Fitzwater we got offers before but his performance on Sunday's televised game was pretty faultless
  16. I still cant fathom why he was deemed surplus to requirements by Hibs
  17. For both the Aberdeen and Hibs games we went down to ten men fairly early on so I'm not sure you can take too much from them. February is our really challenging month particularly if you start it from 29th Jan with Hearts. Both the old firm; Aberdeen away and a somewhat resurgent (well battling if not actually getting the results) Kilmarnock. If we can maybe get six points that I'll be happy - actually five points would probably still be more than acceptable. Edit - my auto correct wanted to replace Kilimanjaro for Kilmarnock - maybe it knows something I don't?
  18. FFS - its the age thing cutting in again. For some reason I though Tuesday was the 31st.
  19. Couldn't you have just said the bottom six, post split, don't play the old firm (and saved two pages of discussion)?
  20. Don't all loan agreements have to be concluded but the closure of the transfer window i.e. Tuesday, or has it changed?
  21. Not nasty aggressive; but definitely over enthusiastic at times if that makes sense.
  22. Not to mention the flooding and waterlogged pitch. Who'd have thought such a thing could have happened on the River Almond water plain?
  23. I'd be interested to know what happened to our covers (that I think we got off St Mirren a few seasons back). I'm concerned that we haven't been using them because it restricted our use of the stadium for training mid-week. Probably wouldn't have been helped in this case but even so.
