  1. Can't disagree with anything you've said there. The dedication of fans to follow a team, particularly one that has hardly been setting the heather alight recently, on a four hour (probably) round trip on a baltic Wednesday night in January should be applauded. Instead they're the ones out of pocket and nothing to show for it.
  2. Are you expecting the officials not to close ranks? The referee for this game had only 4 premiership games under his belt but he was accompanied by three other experienced officials. An absolutely horrendous situation
  3. Hopefully those at the ground already got a bucket load of free pies? They must have cooked most of them already.
  4. Bloody rookie referee - only been officiating officially for six months (his first game was funnily enough at Tannadice I believe). Anyone older than about 20 can probably remember when the simply cleared the snow off the lines and carried on. bloody namby pamby, cotton wool mentality!
  5. Ridiculous Really feel for those poor sods already travelling down from Dundee.
  6. One thing though; if parking at the centre (free parking after 6pm) be bl00dy careful on the stairs down from Bubbles. The council never seem to grit them and, with the melted snow refreezing, it'll be bl00dy lethal.
  7. Just seen Luiyi de Lucas' press conference. Hopefully he gets some time tonight so we can give him a proper welcome to the Amber Army.
  8. Livingston F.C. v Dundee United F.C. cinch Premiership 18/01/2023 7:45pm Tony Macaroni Arena Referee: Matthew MacDermid AR1 Andy Milne AR2 Colin Drummond Fourth Official Scott Lambie VAR Nick Walsh AVAR Andrew McWilliam
  9. Worryingly the club are sound a fair bit less gung ho about it being on than they were earlier:
  10. Better be on else there's a sh*t load of pies to get through
  11. The club seem convinced that the game will be on. Wonder how many pairs of socks I can get on and still do up my trainers?
  12. Bu@@er! Before he joined us Bobby not only played for Albion Rovers but also for Paul Martin's (the team manager) separate roofing business. Bobby was made redundant and the relationship started to break down rapidly until he was "sacked" from Albion Rovers for being constantly "disrespectful". It is well documented that he often shouted at the manager and the assistant during training and the match but also it has been suggested that he left a "present" in Paul Martin's desk drawer. There were a lot of suggestions on social media of what that "present" actually was but the general view was it was extremely unpleasant (and messy/smelly). As far as I am aware neither party has publicly confirmed the incident took place. I don't think Gary Bollan had any problem with him
  13. Think he's referring the "baggage". As far as I'm aware Shaun was severely depressed following his mother's passing at a relatively young age, Think his form fell off with Dunfermline resulting with him being released. Struggled at first with us but playing regularly gave him the chance to pick his life up again. Personally thought he was an player, who can forget that Dundee United game, the only concern was his rashness occasionally led to his being sent for an early bath. I still believe he should be playing in the Premiership but I think he wanted to be assured of a regular start. As for Hakeem Odoffin; I'm not really sure. I know he started at Tottenham but his career took a nose dive following successive almost career ending injuries. Not aware of anything else.
  14. I was with you on this one until one of my sons pointed out that the club have been posting pictures of the players training on the pitch. Admittedly these all seem to be on the south side of the stadium (the side that gets the sunshine) but I live in hope. We haven't had any rain since the weekend so hopefully the temporary thaws have given it a chance to drain away. Of course the real problem (other than the road and surrounding areas) is always the North West corner which never seems to get sunlight. Hopefully steps have been taken to try and deal. Also didn't we get some sort of tent thing which was meant to heat up the ground?
  15. Was more thinking about him standing up to the mad one. As I recall even when he was transferred to St Johnstone he was still owed something like five months money.
  16. Absolutely Dave MacKay; not only great defender and captain but also an impressive goal tally.... but, above all else, remember what he had to deal with and how he stood up to the mad one who repeatedly failed to pay the staff and turned off the electricity to "teach the supporters a lesson".
  17. In case it hasn't been posted before: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/new-livingston-defender-admits-its-28972972
  18. Actually I've just about thawed out from our visit to St Johnstone at the weekend and that was meant to be 4 degrees according to the Beeb.
  19. That will be the same Paul Lambert that took up to a almost record breaking lowest tally of points in the SPL (well until the Gretna thing I think).
  20. Trying to remember why Rubio left. It was after the cup final so presumably during the Flynn era?
  21. What's the chances of this being on? Still loads of snow here and the council seem to have done the square root of eff all to get it cleared. Temperature barely above freezing at the moment.
  22. Anyway; back to the match. Thought the pitch looked bad at the beginning with all the sand all over the place and divots here and there and then I read about the battle to gat the game on and pass the pitch inspection all morning. Within about an hour I was thinking "this would never pass a pitch inspection now" and was looking a hell of a state at the end. Penrice's celebration after his goal particularly seemed to leave a couple of furrows.
