  1. It was earlier than those two dates. I recall West Calder had not long moved into their new ground. I just checked they moved there in 2008.
  2. After a date and a score if you can oblige. I'm sure Lithgae won very comfortably on the night with Chris King scoring a few
  3. Are there any Lithgae stattos post on here. After a wee bit of info on a game I saw at West Calder a few years ago at their new place. I’m sure Dave Baikie was the Manager. It was a Wednesday night game very warm night. Ring any bells with anyone
  4. Some more sad news to report. Ian Ross who managed the club during the mid-90s has passed away at the age of 72. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-mourn-passing-former-defender-15807692.amp
  5. Just as a matter of interest how do City manage their training these days. I know in the past the Central belt players trained down there.
  6. Yes that’s him. Really nice guy too. His autobiography is available on kindle for about £4 called the Headmaster of football. It’s a really good read and if you love the lower divisions there some legendary names and teams get mentioned in it.
  7. Recently read his autobiography and your right Andy it was Miller but he stated he was offered it a second time and If I remember correctly they gave it to Jim Duffy. A really good read by the way.
  8. Keeper was a 10 out of 10 yesterday. Three great saves in the first half and a tremendous penalty save in the 2nd half too. All about taking your chances when they come. Vics did and Craigmark didn’t.
  9. Really enjoyed the first two instalments looking forward to hearing the final part. Yes been best of your podcasts so far. Mick has come across very well in it.
  10. Can’t help but feel for the guy. Was always going to be up against it this season in the terms of resources he had and Stenny were competing in the division. It’s hardly as though they were returning to where they came from fast. Good job for someone. Stenny’s a well run club and got a good catchment area to draw on. Be interesting to see who they give the batten to.
  11. I can see where people are coming from about the lack of budget putting a lot of perspective manager’s off but there are a lot of manager’s desperate to get back into senior football and I’m sure someone will take a chance on Albion Rovers. As regards to the budget, and in no way this is a dig at Queens Park but they manage to compete at this level year after year and is Rovers budget lower or superior to QP. Either way as Ammo quite rightly points out there are some gems out there if your prepared to go out and look for them whether it’s in junior, Amateur or juvenile football. QP do that successfully year after year.
  12. Absolutely gutted to hear Robbie is away. I’ve no doubt he’ll be a success somewhere else but I know how much he wanted to succeed at Berwick. Big big decision for the board to pick a successor. Possibly the biggest managerial decision they have ever had to make. Please not Jimmy Thomson for a third spell
  13. Scott McDermott from the Daily Record tweeting he’s heard it’s Jim Duffy
  14. Have to agree Fort were well disciplined and stuck to their game plan and credit due where it’s deserved. Suppose a case of what might have been had Fort kept 11 on the park. Up till the sending off FW are capably dealt with whatever Rose through at them. Must be said though Linlithgow are no where near the force they were.
  15. Must admit a big improvement on what I seen two weeks ago at Edinburgh City. Defence looked a lot more tighter, you got the ball down and tried to play a bit football instead of shelling it continually and Rovers looked organised. Only worrying point for me is the final third because from a neutral point of view despite plenty of endeavour to get there not a lot was happening when they got there. A couple of big games coming up and if you can grab a win or two your back in the mix.
  16. Made hard work of it. Had the better chances and always thought if they kept their composure they would eventually grind Rovers down.
  17. Good frank interview in today’s Sunday Mail with John Brogan which is worth a read. I liked the bit where he said he’s told when going for jobs: “there’s your budget can you manage on it” His answer I’ll strive to be as successful as we can with what we have but I’d never ask any club to gang themselves by the balls. I watched yesterday’s game and I fear for Rovers this season. Absolutely no quality through the team and it looked as though the players confidence is already spiralling towards rock bottom. Yet when you look at what Queen’s Park pick up and kick on with could Rovers effectively do the same.
  18. A valid point but are the club not struggling to attract bookings with more business floating the way towards the Falkirk Stadium up the road. I see the club are frequently pushing empty slots on Twitter. I remember Ochilview being mobbed 7 nights a week when the 3G was first laid.
  19. I was at the game on Saturday and Having seen Cowdenbeath at roughly the same time last season I would say they look far worse now than under Liam Fox. Take nothing away from EK though it could have easily been 5 or 6
  20. I saw Donnelly playing for Hurlford United a couple of times a couple of seasons ago. I couldn't believe it was the same player who was at Airdrieonians. Don't know what's gone wrong there. Looked a pale shadow of his former self.
  21. Seen both players. Leiper is a very reliable centre half. No frills and just gets the job done. I rate Gemmell too. Gets through a lot of hard work in the middle of the park.
  22. What about Keith Knox. Clyde legend as a player and his record at Stranraer wasn't too bad.
