  1. He was in attendance last night, standing behind the goal and growing increasingly distressed and animated throughout at the prospect of playing in League 2 next season.
  2. God this was a such poor result and in front of a very decently sized away support as well. What a pity. Our defending was an abomination. Humiliating and embarrassing. The players involved are fortunate there was no stream tonight as some of Edinburgh’s goals had viral meme potential. Despite the fact we’d plenty of possession and shots on goal a lot of our attacking phases were directionless and we desperately lacked a proper striker throughout the match. I don’t think EC’s players are particularly superior to ours but it’s the story of the season - we’re a group of individuals rather than a team and the next individual error is only ever a few moments away. For this and various other reasons we’re going to be playing (and likely struggling) in League 2 next season.
  3. Yes, Farrell will confirm the precise fig just as soon as we're relegated.
  4. What's your point here? She should have been ok with her old man dying because he happened to be really old?
  5. I'm pretty sure we're going doon. We have a squad of losers and the club has been riding its luck too long. The slither of hope lies in the poor quality of the other teams involved in the playoffs. When the star players are Handling, Nae Goals and Tony Wallace, you can reasonably assume we're not going to be facing world-beaters.
  6. Nish's nonchalant headed finish is one of the most satisfying moments I've enjoyed as a Sons fan. Sadly no footage of the goal appears to be avbl online.
  7. Where are you travelling to for Tool? We bought Dublin but I'm slightly regretful I didn't go down the marginally cheaper Birmingham route.
  8. No need for anyone to worry - Andy Hosie has a degree.
  9. No doubt about it. The pathway to the Lowland league gives me the shivers. Nobody really knows what our team could look like next season if we end up going down and how we'd perform. Imo, it's too early to be predicting the end of spfl football for us just yet. We’re all as well getting on board now with the reality that we’ll probably end up in the Lowland league at some point, and possibly lower still.
  10. Aye, there would be something poetic in that. Alternatively it will be Nae Goals McCluskey that sends us doon.
  11. Idiotic and unprofessional of Steele to engage but the point is essentially sound - we’ll be heading up the North East with a view to keeping the score down and avoiding injuries and suspensions. Cove will win handsomely.
  12. We’ll be reliant again on the quality of our playoff opponents being absolutely shite in order to slither to safety. Feels like a big ask to get that lucky 2 years running. I’d be quite accepting of relegation this season, the performances have just been so poor for such a long time.
  13. I'd still have Peterhead as pretty comfortable favourites for this one but if we can at least have a go at attacking and avoid conceding any daft penalties then we my have a chance.
  14. "Aye, but he hus a degree" Sterling character reference there from Henning.
  15. That wee period of time in the Championship when we repeatedly owned Alloa was good fun. Unfortunately that won't be the case this week - home win.
  16. Decent of Farrell where a lot of other managers might have baulked at the prospect of a difficult Q&A. I guess it just adds to the general perception of an individual who is fairly decent in all aspects of management except, sadly, the bit that matters most.
  17. The strips look pretty good, so far as I can make out. I’m keen to see a clearer image of Boghead on the away jersey. In the absence of much else to get excited about down at the Rock, I think I’ll embrace the 150 thing and nab one of both. And throw in a scarf. And the whisky. The lot.
  18. £75 quid for the pleasure.
  19. Unless he walks, Farrell will be the manager through to the end of the season at least. There's not a sweet hope that this club will be dynamic enough to make arrangements for the final 6 games that involves a different option at the helm. We're relying on blind luck and the shortcomings of others if we are to remain in League 1. We're most likely fucked.
  20. Almost exactly 4 years since we played that Challenge Cup final and almost every event that’s occurred since has been negative - with no end in sight. What a draining grind it’s been. I’m genuinely wondering whether we’ll be able to avoid a trapdoor playoff to the LL at the end of next season.
  21. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the shittest of them all?
  22. I don’t particularly care whether he’s in the squad next season or not, but to freeze him out at this stage of this season would be cutting off our nose. I’ve not seen many decent performances from the team this term but the few that have emerged have typically involved key contributions from either Carswell, Paton or both.
  23. Wait, it’s an infuriating red card to pick up and as captain he should absolutely know better but you can’t seriously be suggesting we kick him out the club for that? I’ll assume that you’re a referee. Terrible, directionless performance today and things now look very dire indeed. I’m not sure where we go from here sadly. As others have noted it becomes increasingly difficult to identify where we’ll pick up any points now as we’re in a total death spiral.
  24. I subconsciously found myself googling earlier whether Big Owen’s Bar was still going. Ominous stuff.
