  1. Great setlist and both bands were in fine form - all technical difficulties aside. Opeth playing Hessian Peel was a rare treat.
  2. Opeth/Anathema tonight - yaass! Anyone going?
  3. Quite enjoy the odd pit myself. Wouldn't go in every time but by the same token I couldn't imagine going to a Machine Head show and not running around in circles. I agree its an odd practice though. Separately, Deftones at the Barras has sold out! And the new album is oot and aboot for anyone who fancies a listen.
  4. They've been slowly but surely re-introducing the heavier stuff over the last few months. At least 50% of the set will still be mellow though
  5. They were good but the start was marred by the fact that they had to. come on so early to make way for the abc club night. The hall was still filling up when they started and the atmosphere was very flat. Conversely, the encore was absolutely sensational.
  6. Gojira Opeth Frank Turner Testament Devin Townsend Sounds like a fair few of us are going to Gojira. Potential beast of a gig.
  7. I thought their more recent record was a massive let down tbh. Not a touch on the previous two. Will prob still go to the Dec gig, Sat nights at the Barras are always worth it.
  8. Happened to be in Hillhead subway tonight around 6:30. Group of lads came in calling everyone BEASTS. I'm assuming P&B.
  9. Aye, I'll need to grow a fringe if I've any hope of attending that gig. In other news, Sylosis are playing Ivorys in Janaury. Their new album 'Monolith' is pretty damn impressive.
  10. Cult of Luna have just announced a gig at Ivorys in January for any bugger interested. New album to follow.
  11. New Dev is a cracker IMO. Meant to recommend it on here a few wks ago.
  12. Quite fancied this but SECC... really? I didn't think they were that big. Will need to mull this one over
  13. It actually would make a great ipod playlist, not many failures on that list.
  14. Tool are prog-metal no? Redneck is the fairly predictable but still disappointing entry for LOG. They have so many better tracks.
  15. Some decent metal-related gigs upcoming between now and the end of the year: Torche Of Mice & Men Between The Buried & Me Converge/A Storm of Light Testament Opeth Katatonia/Alcest Devin Townsend Hoping to get along to most of them.
  16. Bumpy bumpy. Starting again this wknd I think, with some Dalek action. Looking forward to it.
  17. I'd still say Oasis are a stick-on for the most inevitable reunion in the history of popular music. One more album from both groups before we top up the Gallagher's pensions.
  18. Traynor's latest article is laughable stuff. I'm concerned for the big man, he sounds right on the edge.
  19. I blundered about the Buchanan Galleries shop at the wknd and made the following gift purchases. I'm not sure at all whether these bottles are considered decent or not, I was largely directed by the price of each: 1. 18yr Highland Park 2. 'Quarter cask' Laphroaig 3. 18yr Glen Livet 4. Three Wood Auchentoshan
  20. I only just got round to reading the terms of the CVA; jesus wept, what a load of piffle. Was there really some 'experts' out there who felt this could succeed? Bemusing.
  21. Go. Mr Townsend was born for the stage.
