Nothing to play for and you got embarrased. Take away your top players and replace them with 17 year olds and it'll be year upon year of that 'performance' and result. Won't be great when it is TV contract renewal time. Your support has been galvanized recently by the reckless comments of those at Ibrox, but given the glory hunting nature of your support there is no reason to think that you will take any more fans to Tynecastle, Easter Road etc than a team like Aberdeen if you are mid table mediocrities at best.

This is dead right. The current financial argument for re-admitting newco (TV money and away crowds) is based on the current insustainable Rangers model. If they are living within their means they will be no bigger than Aberdeen and their travelling support will diminish, plus how much will Sky/ESPN pay to televise four thrashings a year of the type we saw last weekend from Celtic? If Rangers are playing kids next season and are away to Killie/Dundee Utd on the last game, needing 3 points to stay up, will these teams lie down and let them win as their chairmen NEED rangers in the SPL?

The New Raith Rovers Thread

Now that we are reverting to part time maybe we can bring Mark Ferry and Craig Wilson back? -
Maybe these "conditions" from Doncaster/SPL are actually win-win - we let you back in scot free if you pay those debts and abide by the EBT judgement (ie we don't get our houses and stadiums burnt down for being the one that slayed the beast), then once the debts get payed the EBT judgement comes down against them resulting in expulsion for cheating. In fact, Miller might think the same and back out, why pay for a team who might get kicked out in a few weeks or months.

Without wanting to get in to a c0ck measuring contest, why did PTFC suffer the most? I'm genuinely unsure - I know we had to deal with idiots like Anelka and had a spell in the 2nd, and of course Airdrie went belly up but I don't know the Thistle story? I hope Hearts etc take the David Murray/Airdrie stance - "gies oor money, this is a business we are trying to run"

Surely getting rid of Rangers would be ideal for a debt free team like Saints? They would be best placed to cut their cloth while the heavily debted teams who need to keep the cheats to help service their own debts would suffer more. A debt free team would surely be favourites to step in to 2nd place?
