  1. Absolutely, I'm not advocating saving them, just quoting the facts. And as someone else pointed out there would be another place in the top 6 up for grabs which Rangers had vacated so swings and roundabouts. It would probably be wrong to use the 6th place pay-out as the benchmark for paying clubs Rangers debts as if they get liquidated everyone will move up a spot and the SPL will essentially be left with the 12th teams prize money.
  2. Probably. Currently 4 and 6 points behind 6th place with 5 games to go, would both be 9 points behind if Rangers results were expunged.
  3. Rangers have 2 more away games plus potentially 3 after the split. Let them fold and use the prize money to pay off their SPL debts and then compensate the 5 teams who lost out on a home fixture with the rest. Simples.
  4. I suppose Killie and St Mirren would be the big losers (6 and 4 points respectively). Would kill off their top 6 chances IMO
  5. I'm sure he knows about tax evasion - i was meaning the specifics of the Rangers case. Also, don't think he was in charge of West Ham at the time - was at Birmingham I think.
  6. Anyone see the West 'Am chairman blaming HMRC last night on SSN? Did they really 'let' Rangers run up a £70mil tax bill or was it more a case of they found out they were doing something illegal and then hit them with a bill for back taxes? I got the feeling the guy didn't really know what he was talking about.
  7. I asked this a few pages back - does anybody remember how quick the axe fell in any previous admins in Scotland?
  8. I see Portsmouth have made 30 redundancies after 5 days of administration and I seem to recall that the axe fell pretty swiftly in previous admins (anyone remember how long for Livi, Dundee etc?). I don't wish the sack on anyone but how have Rangers made it this far without laying anybody off?
  9. I'm no insurance expert but if you came to me and asked for insurance for a £24 million investment in a practically insolvent company who potentially face a £50+ million tax bill I'd be quoting you about £23.99 million for your premium.
  10. Presuming any insurance agent would touch it. It would be like insuring your car and admitting that your mate who has had 100 driving bans is going to be using your car.
  11. With Geoff Broon whining now, does anybody actually know how the TV revenue is split? I imagine the OF take the lions share. So if we lose Rangers (fingers crossed), the TV revenue will be reduced but it surely can be spread more evenly making up for most of the shortfall no?
  12. What is the scenario regarding debts accrued after they have entered administration?
  13. Geoff Brown sooking in with the bigots now: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17106764
  14. Rosenborg dominated Norway for ages. You have to imagine Celtic would cut back - why spend £50 mill a season to win the SPL when you can spend £20 mill and still win. Eventually somebody would get near to them.
  15. If you are going to resort to picking up on 'speling' mistakes you should maybe make sure your own is bang on.........
  16. Having lived in Fife and Alberta I can confirm that the latter is far better. As bad as Edmonton seemed it is well better than KDY (unfortunately)
  17. Short sleeves on the picture on the online shop though. Anybody been to buy one yet and able to confirm?
