Its the best photo I can track down, so not at all clear I'm afraid; but like SG, once through the Hope St turnstiles it always seemed natural to walk towards the choir then turn up the terracing to your regular spot, rather than head up the stairs. Maybe the reason Ned can't remember the stairs is that a lot of fans tended to head down towards the bottom corner of the terracing - facing the house gable- before the final whistle, then dash out sharpish to get back to the best seats in the pub... So you could quite easily be stood on the terracing all those years and never use the stairs.

That's the one I went to every week for years, as a denizen of the South Enclosure.
I always used to (still do) get my pie and coffee before the game at 2.15 or something. Enjoyed munching it in peace while it was still "just about" lunchtime. Half time is for reading the programme. Besides, you'll just ruin your appetite for your dinner if you are eating a pie at pretty much 4pm.
I see what you did there, RB. Highly amusing. Have a greenie.
I always liked that its signed as a "buffet", not some mere 'pie stall'....Standing in the queue for the 'buffet', wondering what delights to try on any given Saturday...Finger rolls and mushroom canapes? Vol-au-vents or chocolate ganache? Nope, the options were hot flavoured water in a cup, and Fisher's pies. No nonsense.

make that hellish trio a hellish quartet; you can add every commentator's new en vogue - "Just about..." from me. As in "De Gea just about saved that shot..." or "United just about saw off the danger..." etc etc etc. Feck me, either he effing saved it or he didn't.

I attach the picture in my avatar which shows the Turnberry End at Boghead - I think it dates from the late 1980's. The two-window block at the left-hand end was a refreshment stall with serving hatches on both sides, ie on the outside and via a small stair on the covered terracing.
The Turnberry name came from the club buying the roof, lattice girderwork and pedestals of the Ayrshire railway station in the 1950's.; I think the pie stall was their own design !
That's a great picture. Funnily enough don't think I ever saw it bathed in sunshine, only ever remember standing there in the pishing rain.
A particular milestone for many Bairns fans is Boghead was the venue of origin of the legend that was, and is, "too near the keeker"... Happy days.

Quite enjoying this road to hampden 97. Hard to believe I was my sons age back then, shame he doesn't have any Falkirk heroes of his own yet, crunchie was my idol then but there's just no one like that or hasn't been for quite some time now. Probably vaulks the closest to being the last one for some of the younger lads.

There used to be an audible cheer at Brockville at times when the Rangers result was read out over the tannoy.
? Really? Don't remember that. Where I was stood/sat, big cheer when the feckkers lost, then yes, absolutely.

Oh. My. God. Just awful.
Dixon & Gomis by a clear margin, then Mutch, maybe Hall, otherwise did anyone else deserve their place today? Todd, Miller, Mercer all woeful. Sammon all too easily in the Centre-half's back pocket. Again. Alston is a real worry 'cause he just looks shit now, and Morrison's form has fallen off a cliff. We've looked toothless, clueless and sub-standard in the last two games. Could be out there playing right now and still wouldn't

close call between Miller & Todd who's been worse.

The brains trust's solution to this is going to be Leitch on for Todd
Just take Todd off. A replacement is optional.

Goals going to come from a defensive feck up. Hall is my guess.
That would be a shame as other than that one mistake a couple of mins ago Hall has been ok (relatively speaking) today.

3 best chances clearly all to Thistle. We're very lucky its still 0-0. What 5 chances are they still on about?

TBF we've started pretty positively. Pushing forward rather than the usual tippy-tappy slow start.

I was thinking the other day, how good the Championship would be if it was all local clubs: Airdrieonions, Ayr, Clyde, Dumbarton, Greenock, Hamilton, Motherwell, Partick Thistle, Queens Park and St. Mirren (not that I'm hoping we get relegated). Ayr's possibly stretching 'local' a bit, but it'd basically be the Greater Glasgow League.
Or not so much the Atlantic League, more the Kelvin League then. Throw in the Bigot Bros, and put it to a vote.

Sorry, but neither Dowds nor Francis look like they can be relied on to even trap a pass FFS, going by what we've seen so far. A poor return to date. Sammon may be a bit better than he was, but the bar was set lower than a snake's arse so it couldn't have been difficult to get some improvement out of him. So not only are the front men not holding up the ball well enough often enough to bring the midfield into play, none of the three of them look like they'll get near double figures for scoring this season. Some significant improvement - and then consistency - required by these guys to start to be a realistic threat, a danger, to opposition defences, because right now they're just not. And if that's seen as knicker-wetting, I'd suggest your head's in the sand.

Woeful. Dowds and Francis utterly impotent, offered no threat at all. Far too easy for the Airdrie defence. Alston and Morrison, our two flair players who should be stand-outs in this league, worryingly shite. What a waste of an afternoon.

Sorry, but Dowds control is really shocking. A number of moves are breaking down where the ball rebounds a good yard off him. I'd play Morrison in his place today, not only has better control but far more mobility.
(Hope that means Dowds turns matchwinner in the 2nd half).

I did say a couple of weeks ago on here, that it's just a case of how many points Falkirk win the league by. Partick are just so poor atm and they are the only team that could genuinely challenge us.
Please just effing stop with this. Just stop.

We deserved it no doubt, but Clyde caused us more problems than most we've played so far. Glad to get that safely behind us. Goodwillie was a threat every time he got the ball & Syvertsen looked decent, glad they subbed him off. Enough on them; Gomis & Dixon were excellent , and both Hall and Telfer look like new players for us. Table looks healthy tonight, just keep it going... COYB.

What a man
Loved that game v Gretna at Motherwell. . We played great stuff that day and really put those puffed-up feckers right back in their box. Seem to remember a Bairns fan running on the pitch and across the 6-yard box and sarcastically patting the Gretna goalie on the head after Russell's goal (top left pic)? Is that right?
Went to see the wee man play at the World Cup in 2006 - kilts, T&T tops and rasta wigs, and a big Bairns flag behind the goals in Kaiserslautern when he made his 20-minute cameo against Paraguay. Great day out, even though T&T lost...Just like being at a Scotand game, ironically.

I'm more than confident that Falkirk will win the league, I think it's just a question of how much we win it by. Thistle don't appear to be any challenge at all.
Oh FFS. Please don't start with that chat!!

phew!!!
what a nonsense that last 15 mins was... should've won by a bucket-load.
Incredibly, but to be fair to him, we missed Telfer (!!) after he got crocked.

Interesting to know exactly WHO was party to these pre-emptive discussions on suspension, as it certainly wasn't the clubs involved. More Fecking Doncaster Bullshit. What an utter kent of a man.
