  1. If Kevin Harper's only previous experience is coaching a League 1 side, I wonder which 10 management jobs he applied for that he thinks he was realistically the best candidate for. To be fair, it's just bad manners not replying to an application, but I can't imagine that was because he's black. If I was a Chairman, this nonsense would put me off taking either of them on in the future.
  2. Some extracts from an e-mail I received last night: I am a gatekeeper of the process and my job requires monitoring, compilation of relevant paperwork and scrutinization of outflow... However, we do have a functioning check process but an extra check to minimise the possibilities of unforeseen lacunas can only bode well for the company as a whole... Lately I have been summoned due to irregularities which won't be the case if proper communication or interdepartmental liaison is carried out. As a process, communication is key coupled with the assembly line format to facilitate the process and achieve a desired outcome. After translating this into normal human language, there was in fact no purpose to the overall e-mail.
  3. How's Josh Mullin been or you guys? Has he had much of a look in?
  4. Imagine the payout he'd get if he had a successful re-trial!
  5. Was purely comparing their contract extensions. For very different reasons, neither are going to cut it at Chelsea, but by giving them long contracts, Chelsea will be able to command a fee for them, and limit their loses.
  6. You'll be delighted to hear that I can still pick up a ticket tomorrow before the game. Looking forward to it.
  7. I tried to get a ticket as a neutral for tomorrow. I phoned the shop and was told I had to come in person and fill in a form to say I'm not a Rangers fan. I explained that I was unable to come into the shop, but was advised that meant I wouldn't be unable to get a ticket at all. Maybe home fans are deterred by this utter nonsense.
  8. This. They did the same with Victor Moses. They'll simply be hoping to recoup some of their loses. He'll move to Dubai/Qatar/China for a few weeks, then on to Turkey for 6 months before landing a 3 month deal at Clyde to try and 'rebuild' his career at 22
  9. Possibly been mentioned before, but the BBC Scottish Gossip Column never has any gossip in it, just two line descriptions of things that have definitely happened.
  10. Agree with the first point to an extent, but it's clear that there is suspicion and doubt around the whole prosecution. Even if he did do it, there's still a strong case to suggest the police tampered with evidence, which should make the whole thing worthy of a retrial. It's been a few weeks since I watched it, but I'm pretty sure one of the lawyers makes reference to personally believing his innocence, during one of his interviews with the documentary makers? I'm happy for you to prove me wrong though if you can do so without sticking holes through a sealed vial of my blood or searching my house 8 times before you find keys clearly visible on on the floor.
  11. Yep. Had they been willing to interview for the documentary then I'm sure a more balanced view would have been portrayed. As far as other suspects go, I feel it has to have been smeone local to the area who knew they could pin it on Avery. On another note, it must be very strange being a defence lawyer. They clearly believe his innocence throughout and seem to really feel for the guy on a personal level, yet as soon as the case is over they've no interest in helping him further since they won't be paid for it. That's obviously their job, just must be a strange emotion to go through.
  12. Apparently they set out making the documentary to show the issues with the American judicial system, but didn't expect to film anything like what they got. The makers claim it isn't supposed to be one sided, but rather they put forward all the information that they were allowed to, and that the prosecution refused to speak to them, which gives the show an imbalance. ***DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO A PROPER SPOILER SO DON'T READ ON IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RUIN THE ENDING*** FWIW, I don't think he did it, and don't see how a jury could confidently convict him based on the evidence provided. I think he was probably a scumbag, and the police thought he was guilty, and did everything they could to make sure they got their man. Really interesting watch, though. Feels strange to believe that he's innocent, and know he's in prison as I write this...
  13. Clyde 1 reported this morning that Aberdeen relied on a 90th minute penalty to see off Hamilton. They also seemed to deliberately avoid mentioning that Aberdeen were 5 points ahead of their beloved Celtic.
  14. Horner I'd forgotten all about that! The media touting Thomas to lead Sky at the Vuelta but like others have said, he's already had a long season. Doubt he'll do much on the roads outside a few Classics next year either if he's looking at Rio.
  15. Quintana puts a minute into the abnormal Froome The fans made their feelings pretty clear of Froome all the way up the Alpe d'Huez - ITV commentary must have missed that as there was no mention of it!
  16. Well done to both teams. Always nice to have a cup final without the Old Firm! As a serious question, would Falkirk and ICT fans rather see this game played in front of 20,000 at a full Easter Road, or have their day out in Hampden even if it was only 30,000 there?
  17. Sounds plausible and would reaffirm my suspicions that our top scorer has had a fallout with the management and that's why he's been dropped. Clark told one of our supporters to shut up when it was suggested Davidson should come off (he was having a particularly bad game). By the sounds of it that won't come as a surprise to you!
  18. Does anyone know if Sandy Clark had a wee soft spot for Gary Fisher and Ross Davidson whilst at Kilmarnock? Both seem to be seen as key members of the Rovers midfield despite us having better midfielders on the bench (including our top scorer).
  19. The worst I know of is Jnr...not Junior, but Jnr.
  20. Whereabouts did you get this wee one mighty meadow? Looks remarkably like ours, although he was born in May.
  21. That's an interesting suggestion, although I've no idea how credible it is or how that would work - perhaps the UCI don't either!
  22. These are the points that confuse me - I could understand if he was an exceptional climber or an exceptional time trialist, but he seems to be formidable at both. Again, I assume they're all competing off a level playing field (one way or another) so why is he still so much better? Either way, at least he's attacking. Everyone moaned last year when Wiggins sat back and defended.
  23. Sky confirm Wiggins will miss the TdF. Probably the best outcome for him and Froome for different reasons.
