  1. Great news that Garry has signed again for next season. He's been excellent for us this season, a real find and became one of the first names most would have had on the team sheet. Had he not been hampered by injury on a couple of occasions, who knows how much more effective he'd have been! Great that he joins Gilhaney in coming onboard for next season.
  2. It's academic as he'll be nowhere near signing for us for a number of reasons, but I too have been baffled as to why so many never rated him and actually thought he was 'terrible' and the likes. He wasn't quick, he wasn't the hardest working, he was petulant and picked up a fair few bookings, but he scored goals. That last aspect is pretty much the crux for me of whether a striker is a success or not. He's not good enough for First Division (nor has anyone actually suggested he is) but his goal record for us, and since, at the bottom two levels of Scottish football speak for themselves as to determining whether he was a dud or useless.
  3. All the best to those who have been released, Kevin Nicoll in particular. He had a great season for us in our play-off success, and his tactical foul on Nathan Blockley in the second-leg of the play off final remains an utter delight. He'll get a Second Division club, of that there's no doubt, and he'll certainly be an asset to them to boot.
  4. No. Although I'll concede he had a positive impact on our promotion campaign. I'm not a fan of any player unwilling to track back and tackle though, especially wide players as it often leads to your full backs being left exposed. as often happened when Lamont played. A player I was never overly convinced with. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on him too. Looking at how much he was involved this season gives an indication of how much he'll be missed. Far from a good enough option for us at this level.
  5. Not surprised at any of those departures tbh. I wish them all the best, but we'll be looking for better quality replacement for next season. I'd love to get McGinn back next season, but not sure what the chances of that would be. Great news that Gilhaney has signed again. He's been one of our most consistent performers this season, and he seemed to have a new lease of life once Murray arrived. Glad he's onboard for next season.
  6. It'll be disappointing if Lister leaves, whatever the reason, but as you say he should leave with our best wishes after what he's achieved as part of this team this season. I'd actually be surprised if any from that list in your second paragraph were retained tbh. It will be interesting to see who of our 'main stays' are offered terms. I doubt Murray will want to keep all of our regular starters, so it'll be interesting to see who 'makes the grade' in his eyes. I'd like us to keep the core of our side in Graham, Lithgow, Turner, Agnew and Lister, as well as Prunty and Gilhaney, although I'm not sure he'll even be actively looking to keep all of them. He'll have his own targets and from his comments, he might be eyeing us playing in a different style next season, so who knows what players he'll have on his list for the summer. That said, I too would like to keep Scott Smith if possible, and he's being released by Hibs, so that could be a realistic possibility. ETA: I'd also like to keep Garry Fleming, he's been as big a part of the core of our side this season as any.
  7. Cracking night last night! All awards well-deserved and some top banter as well. Jimmy's speech was superb! Cracking end to an unbelievably successful campaign and the lads deserve all the credit they get!
  8. Is there a way that I can get something I have recorded and saved to my Sky+ Planner onto a cd/DVD?

  10. I'd wear a suit to be on the safe side. That said I've never had an interview internally for a job, so maybe that wouldn't be the done thing. I'd go with the analogy that I'd prefer to be as smart as possible with the risk of being over-dressed, rather than be under-dressed and everyone else is looking dapper and wearing a suit.
  11. After a mix-up this morning, they do have a pitch at 8.30pm, so it's booked for then. David W has been advised.
  12. Sorted. I had to make my selection and then make the bet first, and at the 'select your stake' stage, the option was there to use my free bet.
  13. I've got a free bet from Ladbrokes (which shows in the 'my account' section of my account), but I'm on my phone, how do I allocate (for want of a better word) the free bet to the selection I've made? Either the option isn't there (perhaps an issue with it on the mobile) or, more likely, I'm being a moron and can't see it. Any help appreciated.
  14. He had a great start for us at left-back, which is clearly his best position. He's solid in the tackle and his positioning is good too. He's shown similar competence at centre-half too.He played in central midfield against Thistle and looked out of place to be fair, and more recently he's been shoe-horned into right-back where he's done ok. His being so left-footed as he is doesn't do him many favours on that side, but he's got decent potential and could make a decent left-back given game time, good experience and a bit of luck.
  15. As others have said too, I'd love to keep Garry Fleming, and wouldn't begrudge him a move full-time should it come along. He's had an excellent first season with us, albeit hampered with a few injuries along the way. But his effort and industry are superb assets for us, not to mention of course that he has genuine quality and can cover a number of positions. I'd really like the likes of him, Turner and Lister (please!) to stay on next season, as they'd be a very solid base to our side for next season. On McGinn, I can also only echo what's been said already. He's filled a major hole at right-back since he's come in and and is streets ahead of Nicky Devlin before him, who, unfortunately this season while on loan, looked a shadow of the player he was when he was with us before his move to Motherwell. McGinn has pace, good positional sense, is a solid tackler, and as has been mentioned, his overlapping and deliveries are excellent. I've been very impressed with him in his short time, and while he'll most likely not return to us next season, I'd like to see him given a crack at the SPL with St.Mirren.
  16. Donning such a disgusting garment could never, in ANY circumstances, be deemed a 'good thing'.
  17. Have you been smoking funny cigarettes? I'd imagine the SSPCA would be your best bet, should the situation arise, or if it has arisen already.
  18. I can't make it, but I'll happily book it once you've got the requisite number of grafters.
  19. I'd imagine there's next to no chance of Kevin Nicoll being re-called, even less the chance of him being played at left-back. I reckon Murray will stick with Creaney due to the lack of options in that position, and make movements with the defence in other areas. People are mentioning us re-calling Nicoll or McCusker due to lack of squad depth elsewhere, but we do have another player out on loan, in Ross Forsyth, and he IS a left-back, who we could recall to help with our defensive woes, should Murray see fit.
  20. Yeah, it would appear you're right. He's listed as a midfielder on the official website. Your plan sounds like a good one tbh, and any more knocks or injuries and it could well be a reality!
  21. I'd imagine so, or hope so! If not, then it's been pretty short-sighted in letting two strikers leave and not being able to sign any more. Perhaps he plans to use Owen Ronald more, now that we're down to Lister and Prunty as our only recognised strikers?
  22. It's a bit perplexing that Winters has left so soon after signing. 'Fitness issues' doesn't make it any clearer either. What were these 'fitness issues'? It could be that that's the official party line and there's something more to it, but whatever the reason, I presume his leaving will now leave a bit of budget free to bring someone else in, be it a free agent, or someone on loan. As has been said, we're now pretty light in that area of the park.
  23. Far from a tip given previous performances and results, but again, I can't see past Sprinter Sacre tomorrow.
  24. Where is the best place to get a detailed preview of the Grand National on Saturday?
