  1. Looking very unlikely given that we've got two just now. But as per I'll book it as soon as/if we get the numbers.
  2. Certainly sounds like an eventful game! Hopefully we're building good fitness and cohesion in these games, the results are largely unimportant in my opinion. What was the catalyst for Murray having a go at the officials at half-time?
  3. I'd be very happy if we were to sign Derek Riordan tbh. Whether there's a chance of it, or whether we're even interested is another matter, but there's little doubt that if Murray could get anywhere near what he's capable of, out of Riordan, he'd be massive for us. He's still got the ability, it's whether his baggage is worth it or if a manager can get him to display that ability that's the issue. It's pleasing to hear that Ross Smith did well tonight. He sounds like he could be a good partner for Andy Graham.
  4. I was out for a run tonight, just a short one, and just wondered if anyone can shed some light on something for me. When I run, after about 20-odd minutes, I find I feel a sort of 'strain' feeling at the meeting of my inner thigh and groin. It's not sore per se, but it is uncomfortable. Anyone have any idea what it could be or has anyone experienced anything similar?
  5. Monday 22nd IN Fudge As usual, I'll get this booked as soon as its close to having the required number of grafters committed to the graftathon.
  6. I've phoned three times since DW's post and haven't gotten through. Not sure if it's got anything to do with the Glasgow Fair or not, but I'll give another try tomorrow morning and try and book it for 8.00pm, if not 8.30pm.
  7. Pretty much what BBPF says above. If we can keep Smith fit, he could be a very decent acquisition for us.
  8. I can't say I know much of Robles, and I imagine he'll be strictly backup only to Tim Howard, so not too fussed on that one. Alcaraz had been mooted as a likely signing from even before Martinez had got the job, but I'm a little concerned that we're making signings from part of a defence which was relegated last year. Still, looking on the bright side, at least it wasn't Gary Caldwell. The lad from Barcelona seems to be well-rated, and you don't get a deal there if you're keech, so that's a heartening signing. As would Moses. I think the raw ability is there and he could be just what we need right now. A regular run of games could bring him out to be the player many in the game seem to think he's capable of being.
  9. Sounds like a worthwhile run-out yesterday and good to hear that we're looking fit as a squad. Hopefully we'll have a few more additions before the first competitive game, but I suspect they'll be loans so might not happen for another week or so. On the Lamont and McLeish situation, I'd say Lamont might be worth a punt, but he's weak, doesn't track back and isn't the sort of player I'd want as part of a battling season ahead. He's got a great delivery on him though, and could be a decent addition if he's bulked up a bit over the summer. McLeish has left pretty much no impression on me in his short time with us, the only thing I can recall is that he too, is very light-weight and was a bit powder-puff in midfield for my liking.
  10. I won't be able to book this over the weekend for next week (the 8th) so let's take numbers for then now, and to get it booked, lets have the majority of numbers by Friday.
  11. You can bet that nobody will bring a football. Also, it's not booked under McAllister, it's booked under Tony 'Cafu' Hibbert.
  12. It would seem that I'm in the minority here, but if we could get a decent fee (£12m plus), I'd punt Baines. He's a cracking player and has done terrifically for us since his arrival from Wigan, and I'd more than happily keep him, but we need to add to and improve the squad. And £12m-ish for a 28 year-old left back would give us good scope to do that. We brought Baines in at a relatively low cost and improved him no end, I'd like to see us do similar again. We're a great club, and have a very decent squad, but it could do with a bit of freshening up and having a bit of depth added to it. I'd like to see Martinez be given a bit of money to spend, and if we were to sell Baines and/or Fellaini to facilitate that, then I wouldn't be unhappy. I would however be worried if the money was used to bring in the likes of Kone or Scharner, however...
  13. This could be a mad enquiry and 'out of left field' so to speak, but here goes... I'm starting my training for the half marathon in October next week, and having not run too much since February/March, I realise that my muscles will start to take a pounding. I'm also going to be doing some light weights/resistance work in line with trying to lose a bit of weight. So my question is, is it worth my while, or is there any need to start using protein shakes/energy shakes or the likes either pre or post training? Cheers.
  14. There still not being anything on the official site is a bit puzzling, if of course it was a done deal. If it's MM stating that he's signing before it' all been signed and sealed, then perhaps it'll be confirmed this weekend. Pre-season starting this weekend, hopefully we'll have a good one and hit the ground running when the first competitive matches start in a few weeks time.
  15. Lets say I have a £20 bet on Ronnie O'Sullivan to win the World Championship snooker, before the tournament starts, at 4/1. (Those were his odds with one bookie IIRC). Then, at the semi-final stage, if he made it that far obviously, his odds shorten a fair bit (again, obviously). What is firstly, the easiest way to calculate stakes/laying with regards to making a guaranteed profit, no matter what the outcome of the tournament? And secondly, what would be involved in doing this?
  16. As per the advice of L.Leiva (David W just incase he gets confused, after all, it's only been his GGA5's pseudonym for the last three years) this is booked for Monday at 8.30pm (there were no 8pm slots available).
  17. Is Mitch Megginson the ex-Brechin striker? As well as Alloa, it would seem? If so, I can't say he's ever left a lasting impression on me, so don't have much to say regarding his signing (if indeed it's true), but I'm prepared to trust Murray given how successful he's been so far.
  18. On a totally different note, as a surprise for my wife's birthday in August, I'm looking for some advice on spa's of all things! I'm looking for advice or pointers on spa weekends in Scotland (down south perhaps, but needs to be within a couple of hours driving distance) which are a bit special and of better quality than 'a decent spa'. I know of a few which are good and have been to a few, but I'm looking for real top quality spa places. I've had a look online at places like Turnberry and Stobo, but does anyone have any other recommendations or thoughts/advice on the subject? Any help would be much appreciated.
