Overnight weather looks OK. Conditions for the game are cool and cloudy. It will feel about 5C and fairly calm. Considering the time of year that's good conditions for silky Fitbaw so I am confident of a BU victory. Mon the BU's !!!
In the last hour the Eyemouth website and their Facebook and Twitter accounts have all been updated with details of the Eyemouth v BU fixture. No suggestion the fixture is not proceeding.
A quick summary of the first 30 minutes for Sheep :- BU decided to play "walking football". We couldn't string the passes together and there was no organisation or urgency. We had people hiding on the flanks and a huge hole in midfield. Feckin awful to watch .
Boness 5 Tynecastle 2 FT. The BU's were booed off at halftime trailing 0-1 after the worst BU performance I have ever seen. I was at Carnoustie when we were 5-0 down at halftime and we were better in that half than today's "effort". Feckin shameful performance. Second half the introduction of Campbell for Sime and the switch of McMullin to left back and a big increase in pace and effort saw the BU assert themselves. Game of 2 halves if ever there was one.
If you don't shoot you don't score. Our forward players dribble, pass and cross the ball but they appear reluctant to shoot. Hopefully we bang in a couple v Tynecastle. Mon the BU's !!!
1981 the Jeff Beck "There and Back" tour. Jeff at his absolute best blending perfectly with Simon Phillips on drums, Mo Foster on bass and Tony Hymas on keyboards. Musicianship was absolutely incredible. Mind blowing stuff.
Their fans complain that the East of Scotland set up this season means they are playing diddy sides most weeks so when they have decent opposition they struggle to raise their game, ...tsk, tsk .......... excuses, excuses.
I watch refs through blue tinted spectacles....... I thought he was good by Fife standards. Got most of the decisions right and he wasn't conned by Calum Smith's playacting. At 0-1 for about 88 minutes of the game there's only a single goal between the teams but I thought the BU looked far more solid and were clearly the better team.
Cup of tea , back in the Hoose, time for some more thoughts on the game at Dundonald. Far stronger team today. Campbell was still suspended and we had Marshall in goal instead of Murphy but it looked a better side than we fielded v Bonnyrigg. Great early start as Prentice neatly headed into the net. After that it looked like a question of "how many" as the BU dominated the game. Alas it was not to be as the BU's missed chance after chance and too often the final ball was a poor one. The BU back 4 with Donnelly and Gemmell giving extra protection didn't look under pressure at any point. Yes Dundonald had the odd half chance but it was dealt with fairly well. Our 2 fullbacks Jacobs and Sime were the men of the match for the way they snuffed out their opponents attempts and turned defence into attack. The midfield of Gemmell Donnelly and Morgan worked hard and won their battles. Up front Prentice and Wright looked far too tricky for Tweedledum and Tweedledee the 2 Dundonald centrehalfs. Big Alan Mackenzie looked a yard short today after missing the game last week but still put in a shift. We created enough chances today to win several games and the 0-1 scoreline doesn't reflect our dominance.
