  1. Andy Stirling signs for The Pars. Now confirmed on the club's website. Brilliant bit of business. Jefferies getting stuck in early.
  2. Who said anything about it coming from Pie and Bovril? Deflecting from what? I am confused.
  3. Grainger was defensively better than Whittle. Whittle always seemed to struggle to chase his man and also can't tackle. Going forward, Whittle was decent, but would always hit a block and, instead of cutting inside, would chose to go to the touchline almost always. Think a new LB is needed. I reckon we should sign every left back in League 1 to show our dominance.
  4. The Old Firm was a rivalry between Celtic and a now dead club. Therefore, the comparison, before taking into proper consideration, is false. Airdrie fans seem extremely upset that it's Dunfermline Buchanan has signed on for. Pleasing.
  5. Just waiting for those pesky Cowden fans to hack the thread with their inquisition of how we funded these signings. Saw the Archie Campbell rumour on dot fud as well, will take that with a good pinch of salt however. Take it he was released by the Ton then? Can't remember him much from season 12-13, but he was decent. Don't know what he was like last season, obviously. Could any Ton fans elaborate? The signing of Buchanan, a centre back, makes it even more likely that Morris is on his way. Good day at the office for us.
  6. Brilliant news. Moffat and Wallace should tear this league apart.
  7. Would appear we are playing Spartans in a pre-season friendly according to Twitter.
  8. If you are happy with us in this league, playing Peterhead and Stirling Albion, you deserve a right good kick to the balls. In terms of our fans getting on the players backs, it never considerably happened throughout the season. Boos or jeers when we lost games to absolute diddies like East Fife were minute. This season the fans aren't going to be as forgiving. Those players have to deliver and, if they don't, expect a backlash.
  9. Make no mistake, that was a BIG opportunity that has passed us. Would have been an amazing pay day.
  10. Last season was a honeymoon period for the younger players. It truly matters this season that they perform. We lost far too many stupid goals and were lucky to win as much games as we did. No way can we accept anything other than finishing 1st this season, it has to happen.
  11. If it's not black shorts and red socks than it can GTF. Not a Pars kit unless it's just that.
  12. Mind Man U were supposed to come up and play us pre-season for 13/14? Fulla wind and pish that SAF.
  13. We need someone up front beside Wallace. That is the most important signing we have to make this summer. Experienced striker between 28 and 30 Y/O would be perfect.
  14. Would love to get him for another spell again, but I think he'll do a Stevie May and go on loan to a club in a higher division, Alloa, Dumbarton and the like.
  15. When was Husband ever on loan at us? As far as I was aware he signed a contract with us in summer 2012.
  16. Ross Forbes is a quality footballer. His first few games for us he really stood out, especially in the game he scored a peach in the 3-0 victory against Ayr. However, he fell behind and was dropped. It happens. Hopefully with a full pre-season and time to settle in he'll be a regular for us, just like he was at Partick. Wasn't he often cited as their main man when they won the league? As for Husband: best of luck to him, but really, he won't be missed. He gives the ball away in the middle quite often and lacks pace. His free kicks are brutal, mostly, as well. If we keep Falky and Geggan then that's a settled centre of midfield we'll have. At least wages will be freed up to get a couple of strikers after today. I think up front is our main priority just now.
  17. Stephen Husband tweeted "am unemployed" the other day. Been given the boot? Good if true.
  18. Moff would be a total coup for us on £700 pw. If that goes through and we add a couple of wide men and an experienced CB, perhaps getting Shankland on loan again, then hopefully this would be the basis of a strong core. Danny Grainger has done the basics up till now. He could've put his feet up and smoked a cigar the games he played in League 1.
  19. That can't be sustainable surely with the gates Airdrie get. No offence.
  20. Nothing's ever simple with us. Yes, financially, it'd be calamitous if we don't go up. Crowds may regularly go below 1500 which is not good. We are screaming for a decent striker and a solid defence. If we get that sorted I think we're on our way but Airdrie and Morton are going to push us all the way.
  21. If we don't win the title next season it'll be a total failure. We should skoosh it but we desperately need a shake in the line up. A few guys who've been around the block would be necessary but strictly within budget. A one in, one out basis should shore up some wages. If it's true that we're trying to get a hold of Moffat, then good. Him and Wallace up front would be deadly. Falkingham needs a kick up the arse, he's been utter dross for a while now, costing us possession and a goal yesterday. Won't be sad to see the back of Morris either. He was immense for us last season and played well at the start of this campaign, but the hype around him is totally unjustified and would free up a wage.
  22. Didn't realise there was a clause in Geggan's contract. Fvck. Our best player too. Didn't count Scully before as he was only loaned to us, but would definitely like to keep a hold of him. Can't see him getting game time at Partick. He'll be behind Gallacher and Fox. Guess we could always get him on loan again. Same goes for Shankland. He might be expecting some game time at Aberdeen next season though.
  23. Out of all those players, I wouldn't give a toss if any of them were to reject new contracts, if offered. It's certain that Morris and Grainger will be offski, again, not a f**k will be given, but Husband will probably get kept on. Big summer for us and we need a good core to challenge for the title. I think we're going to struggle with the budget well and truly slashed but should be up there. Will be a tough league, wouldn't rule out Airdrie challenging as well after the end of the season they've had alongside Morton.
