  1. So, incompetent management by the Successful Businesswoman again ....
  2. Why are they paying Premiership wages? No relegation clause in the players' contracts?
  3. Indeed. it's in the same league as "Scottish football is a laughing stock around the world".
  4. No, it doesn't. It specifically says "A member, an associated person and/or the Scottish FA shall not take a Scottish FA Dispute to a court of law except with the prior approval of the Board." [Articles 99.12 and 99.15] Do Hearts have the prior approval of the SFA Board?
  5. And only someone with a profound ignorance of the subject would think the Allies "won" the battle of the Somme.
  6. I haven't read the WRJFA's constiution, but I'd guess it was based on the SJFA's, which is a real dog's breakfast.
  7. 1. Dereliction of duty - by whom, and what duty? 2. "English leagues are a graveyard for Scottish players" but "We improve the English leagues" - how does that work? 3. Scots players have been moving to English clubs for better money and prospects since at least the 1890s. What is different today?
  8. Sorry to disinter this distasteful topic, but ... There are three (3) victims suing Celtic. The maximum compensation paid by the Criminal Injuries Scheme in similar cases is £22,000: that is not binding on a court, but it's a good starting point. So, some way to go to reach "tens of millions".
  9. Exactly the same, but the absence of a jury may mean it's not taken quite so seriously by the judge. "The primary function of CCA 1981 is to protect the integrity of active court proceedings. It prohibits the media from publishing information that will prejudice ongoing legal cases and in particular trials before juries." Note the "in particular". BTW civil cases may also have a jury, with only 12 jurors in Scotland.
  10. AIUI the SFA's objection was because they couldn't provide enough referees etc. for an additional 30+ level 6 games each week. That wasn't a problem when the EOS expanded.
  11. But don't you expect Albion Rovers etc. to come down?
  12. Pedant alert! It's either unique or not. It can't be more or less unique.
  13. Typo surely. There's very little chance of Sevco progressing further in the absence of (a) money to buy players and (b) a decent manager.
  14. Who to believe? The gov.uk website, which frequently gets things wrong? Or the Sun, with its proven record of lying? Tricky!
  15. The SPFL is not a member, it's a "Recognised League". The FA is not a member. "Affiliated National Associations" are deemed to be members, but the FA is not affiliated. See the SFA Handbook, page 21.
  16. No need to argue. The government guidelines say specifically "Your employee can: take part in training"
  17. SFA Articles, 5.2(c(vii)): "Each member shall procure that its officials, its Team Officials and its players, and shall use its best endeavours to procure that its Team Staff, its employees, its Team Scout(s) (other than its officials, its Team Officials or players be subject to and shall comply with: any statutes, regulations, directives, codes, decisions promulgated by the Board, the Professional Game Board, the Non-Professional Game Board, the Judicial Panel, a Committee or sub-committee, FIFA, UEFA or the Court of Arbitration for Sport;"
  18. The Scots courts won't take kindly to the SFA trying to block access to them. On the other hand, they won't be too thrilled that Hearts haven't fully explored the non-court alternative, i.e. CAS.
  19. In the same way that it's entirely possible that I'll win the lottery this weekend.
  20. What do you suppose the SPFL is, if not the clubs? It's not some amorphous mythical entity, it's a limited company with 42 shareholders. They will all be affected in some way should Heartrs win.
