Full credit for BU being able to battle back . We we’re second best by a long way in first half but having said that only a very soft penalty and a goalkeeping howler had Hearts in front . Great display in second half , Dalziel put some work in , Stenhouse always looked a threat and defensively more solid . Very entertaining watch again , just a shame the ref was so bad , hard to understand several of his decisions .

We have previous with this referee , denied a certain penalty against Auchinleck previously , flies in the face of the soft penalties given today .

Now it’s who to play at centre back when all available . Hawkins has been a new player this season , excellent so far . McArthur has taken the step up from Camelon in his stride and looks a really good player now . Irving has proved more than capable as a deputy . Travis looks a good signing and hopefully does well . A good dilemma for the manager to have now and of course all can play full back .

John Ward to Broxburn , was watching their highlights from Saturday and thought it was him . Now an even smaller squad , how they have intentions to bring players in . Keir is now the only left back as Rutherford is a bit unreliable due to injury .

But , the only time we played them in the Scottish Junior Cup we lost embarrassingly . So need to take it seriously . Hopefully can cancel that one out .

Well done BU , a great bounce back after last week . Think I’m right in saying that Darvel have never scored against BU competitively.

Ryan Porteous I thought didn’t look very interested in pre season matches and I said so on here . He then scored 2 good goals against Gala and I thought , here we go now . One game isn’t good enough . For a supposed record signing he has been hugely disappointing and I’m hoping he responds again with 2 goals on Saturday .

I couldn’t say we are not competing in games but it’s the two big ones that’s going wrong , can’t score and giving away goals . Needs sorted quickly or we will be in the bottom half soon .

We were lucky still to be in the game at half time , could have been at least 3 nil . Second half plenty of chances , couldn’t convert and gave away a second . I could have written this scenario many times over the past 5 years . Our squad is too small and lacking a bit of quality in certain positions . 3 games without a goal is worrying though .

Have BU mentioned that the Celtic B match is off next Tuesday ?

Ah well , that’s the honeymoon period over . Vulnerabilities being shown now . But , having said that we would have taken 15 points out of 21 . At start of season we would have welcomed that . Bad day at the office , move on to next week .

It was great to have a decent away support at Newtown last night , been so lacking in Lowland League . Made for a good atmosphere which the game itself deserved . Even in defeat , you find yourself looking forward to the next game and really hope the BU are up for it as much as last night .

Great match , BU very unfortunate but you can’t give gifts . Still , we looked good and played at a good tempo and looks promising that we can play like that now . Albion Rovers are a very decent side though .

When you still get 3 points when having an off day then you are doing something right . Well done to all at BU for a very successful start to a season .

Cracking result , these two games last season resulted in 1 point .

Well that’s the season started and I was pleasantly surprised with todays performance . Everyone played well and the finish from Porteous for his second goal was class . Ok , there will be stiffer tests but you can only beat what’s in front of you . Poorer second half but this so often happens when the game is basically won at half time . The next two matches will tell us a lot .

Well that’ll be 6th or 7th then Dave , lol . Only seen 2 games but disappointed in our ‘record’ signing . Looks like a player that’s made the wrong decision coming to BU . We will see what happens going forward , defence is still a problem in my book and don’t rate JJ as much as others do .

That’s fair enough , but it really doesn’t take much to find out who players are . Already been on loan to a lowland league side I see .

It’s like the BBC on here , everyone knows who it is but nobody will name him .
