  1. Both teams looking impressive in the warm up. Should be a good game, with lots of goals.
  2. Edited my post to say Alan Sneddon was MOM against Real Madrid.
  3. ALEX MORRISON - Best goalie to have played for the club, so he said. Sir Alex took him to St Mirren. ALAN SNEDDON - Was MOM playing for Celtic against Real Madrid not long after he left Gaswork Park. KEVIN McDONALD - Beith. Great defender, good pace & positional sense. JOHN CHALMERS - Left Gaswork Park far too early, same type of player as Kevin, but capable of scoring goals. DANNY MACKENZIE - Pollok left back, really good defender who gets up the park & delivers good crosses. Midfield DARREN CHRISTIE - Beith extremely talented & hard working right midfielder who scores important goals. MARTIN MULHEARN - Magnificent footballer, capable of leading any Junior team who has ever played. DEL ESPLIN - Rutherglen Glencairn midfielder playes the game with his head up, classy player with a bit of steel about him. JOHN SANNIGHAN - Thistle midfielder, footballing God. Strikers IAN PURDIE - Thistle brought him over from Bonkle, think he only played a few games, but he was the most explosive striker ever. Moved on to Aberdeen. SCOTT ANSON - Pollok striker, top quality hit man, would score a barrow load in that team. Team would warm up to Scottish Dance music, with The Bluebell Polka, by Jimmy Shand introducing bot teams into the pitch.
  4. Big Mo would need to be the goalie. I’ll pick the team after The Jonnie Walker Show on Radio 2.
  5. larky9, to help Jags to be a bit more competitive you have been given the power to pick 4 Thistle players from the past, & any 4 players playing in today’s game. Talbot players are unavailable. What would your selections be ?
  6. Larkyforever, Alistair Duff or Graham Gracie, who is best.In your opinion ?
  7. Larkhall Thistle 4-5 Dukla Pumpherston Very enjoyable afternoon. Good crowd inside Gasworks Park. Some very entertaining football served up by both teams. Thanks Jags for a happy trip down memory lane.
  8. Jags 2-3 EK Th. Mon 30th July. Very well done to the Larky kids for a tremendous effort against a much more experienced looking EK Th team. EK’s very talented no 2, put his team in a commanding position with a couple of well worked goals, midway through the 1st half. Jags hard working no 10 got his side back level, with 2 good goals from close range. Ek’ no 3 headed a winner at the back post for the visitors with 10 mns left, after good skill from their no11 on the left opened up the home defence. Jags will need to bring some experience very soon or they will struggle this season, but tonight,I was very proud of the lads, thanks for you effort.
  9. Hurlford 1-1 Wishaw. Hurlford made the final, but the Wishaw lads pushed them right to the wire. The home side started well, with Mark Roberts going close with a good effort. 25 mns Ross Robertson put Hurlford ahead when he nodded home a left wing corner from close range. 40mns Vincent McGuire levelled the game when he sent Alistair Brown the wrong way with a penalty. 2nd half both teams had chances. Hurlford winger Paul McKenzie had a good effort just after the break, then he had a fine effort from 20 yds clatter the crossbar. Best player on the pitch for me was Wishaw wide boy Daniel Kindlan, he was tremendous. Decent crowd, around 700.
