  1. I got a macaroni pie. Hope it was the last one. GIRUY.
  2. Aye the booing at half time was pretty funny. However there were far more folk starting to applaud in encouragement as they went down the tunnel.
  3. They’re both excellent strikers but maybe a too similar to start together, Hippolyte with either Faiss or Ryan might be a more natural partnership. Ryan and Faiss together could be worth a shot though.
  4. AJ said after the Brechin game that Beadling’s recovery is going well and should be running by the end of the week. Can’t wait until the best central midfielder in the league is back fully fit as a permanent Pars player. I’ll be fucking gushing with man-fluids when we see Faiss, Beadling and Ashcroft in the same starting eleven.
  5. He’s been *okay*, I feel like he’s the one new signing that we haven’t nearly seen enough of yet. In his first game against Peterhead he was very wasteful in possession but he was quite sharp and determined off the ball. He played against Dundee as well but was pretty quiet, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing - he just had a very simple role. Didn’t play against Brechin at all.
  6. Lee Ashcroft confirmed as club captain. Not exactly a shock but great news nonetheless. I fucking love Lee Ashcroft.
  7. Is anyone hoping for more players coming in during the summer? We have cover in every position apart from the wingbacks. If we’re hoping to play 532/352, J.Longridge and Williamson are the only players that fit the wingback positions. If there’s still a bit of cash left, I’d hope for one more wingback, other than that I think the squad is complete and pretty well balanced.
  8. I'd been having a nice, relaxing night until I read this post.
  9. That doesn’t usually stop us tbh, but aye they are. Bit shite for Williamson, he played every minute of the league last season and he’ll miss the first of this one Whilst Higgy is more or less a key player for us, his role can be filled by a few others throughout the squad. Williamson, on the other hand, is a much harder player to replace. Can see us using 4 at the back for the United game, Lewis Martin really isn’t a wingback.
  10. 4 subs named tonight? Have you been hit with a few injuries or do you just have a very small squad?
  11. Fair to say we won’t be seeing Hippolyte our wide unless we revert to a 4-4-2 or something similar. He’ll play as a striker but it’ll be a constant four way battle between himself, Faiss, Louis and Andy Ryan for the striker positions. Callum Smith and Lewis McCann won’t be easily pushed aside by the looks of things either.
  12. I mind being fucking raging at that photo until the ferret was pointed out.
  13. I’d like to see Ryan start ahead of L. Longridge at some point, he looked good against Peterhead even though he only got about 4 minutes and he did his job well when he came on today. Jackson Longridge and Craigen were fantastic today.
  14. That was the first time I’d seen/heard of Higgy. Didn’t take me long to figure out he was a dick, pretty sure I had a pretty severe dislike for the boy until his first game for us. Some boy. The SFL page used to upload highlights and they dubbed over the raucous celebrations with a round of applause and a gentle cheer. Bizarre stuff.
  15. Of course the away fans would applaud going 2-0 up!
  16. I still have a pretty vivid memory of his hat-trick at Firhill. 3 absolutely glorious goals in what felt like about 5 minutes. I remember taking about 40 minutes to type a “Joe, Joe, super Joe..” text on my wee Sony Ericsson to my brother when he asked how the game went. The match summaries were on a repeat on Sportsound in the car on the way home and every time the report of the Dunfermline game came back around I got a wee stiffy when the pundit was talking about how fucking quality Cardle was.
  17. My instinct is that Johnston may have been happy to keep him had he either been a regular starter or to have been a regular sub but on a lower wage. He probably couldn't the justify paying the money that Cardle may have been earning to have him as second choice winger. Still one of my favourite Pars players of my lifetime and the thought of having him back as a coach one day makes me, erm, excited.
  18. There are few things I’ve seen less than this episode, it’s an absolute masterpiece. “Aw Joe, no the watch.”
  19. PotM is right with the lineup. Higgy was playing central for the whole game aye, Connolly played pretty much alongside him when he came on as a sub. Ashcroft and Thomson came off at the same time, with young McCann and Connolly coming on. McCann joined Hippolyte up front, L.Longridge was put out wide and Connolly played in the middle with Higgy, Craigen played wider on the right and we had 4 at the back. Connolly and Higgy looked really dangerous together, albeit playing against a tiring League Two side.
  20. There’s yer Stevie Crawford signing up permanently as a coach for the reserves and first team.
  21. It was pointed out to us that we must be shite because we finished a whole 15 points behind St Mirren. We were also only 3 points behind a team that got promoted.
