Losing Clark, Aird, Morris and McManus is not ideal IMO.

TOW is a good signing, someone I would have liked to have seen playing for Dunfermline. Edwards could be missed though, he would have been a very comfortable player in this league.

Wonder if AJ is thinking of trying a 3-5-2/5-3-2? He tried the latter in a couple of friendlies last season which, IMO, didn’t work but that was with players like Talbot/Martin at LWB and Nat at CB but the options are now J.Longridge and the possibility of having four CB options if M’Voto and Durnan are signed. We’re also better equipped in midfield to suit that formation. We had Paton and Splaine playing in the middle but now we have Craigen and Beadling to accompany Nat and maybe even Vincent. However the fact we nearly had Aird signed up (who wouldn’t really fit into a 5-3-2/3-5-2). Signing Higgy and/or Cardle would indicate we’re probably sticking with a 4-4-2 or similar.

I agree that the policy appears to be similar to Houston's but as it has been mentioned, AJ has signed players who came with - at best - below average expectations. Aird, McManus, M'voto, Craigen, Nat, Robinson and Vincent have all performed better than expected. Whether that's down to AJ or not, I don't know. Paws aff, c**t.

It’s probably just come down to the wage, it’s almost a given that we were able to offer him more money. I think it’s Jackson that signed a 2 year deal as well so that maybe played a part in it. (FAO Grant228) There’s also the small matter that we’re a fucking huge club.

Seems as though he already signed a deal at EEP, could be looking at a wee payout if Ross takes him.

I’d be fairly content if he was a replacement for M’Voto (i.e. backup to Ashcroft and Morris).
