  1. Double header today in two different countries. in my Scandinavian trip. First up was HB Køge V Esbjerg FB in the Danish 2nd tier, bottom 6. Esbjerg really had to win to give themselves any chance of staying up. And it all started so well as they took a 12 minute lead through a deft flick at the near post. But Køge who are the best of the worst thought back immediately as the centre half bulleted a header in from a corner, before a penalty just before half time from Køge gave them the lead which they never relinquished. Koge are managed by ex Liverpool player Daniel Agger and have ex Rangers player Jin Flanagan in their squad (though he wasn't playing today. Finished 2-1 with 775 attending. Second match was over the other side of the øresund Bridge in Malmö. Who were playing Mjallby AIF in the Allsvenskan. I would have made this game 50 minutes before kick off. But the Øresund train was at the wrong platform and left hundreds of people (including a good number of Malmö supporters!) having to make the next train. Made the match with seconds to spare. THis was a quality match again. Mjallby have been a form side at the start of the season and this was 2nd V 3rd. Mjallby started the better but after about 20 minutes Malmö settled into their game and dominated from then on. It was no surprise when they took the lead after 35 minutes from a downward header at a corner and then scored the second two minutes later. The atmosphere was electronic from both sets of fans (approx 500/600 away) in the crowd of 19812. It finished 2-0 Malmö.
  2. After two years and three months I've finally managed to escape the UK for a proper holiday. I've just arrived into Denmark this weekend for a week of football here and in Sweden. So lots of Random matches from me to enjoy. Tonight I started off in the Danish 3rd tier for a match between Boldklubben 93 (B93) V Hellerup IK (HIK) at the Osterbro Stadion, which is adjacent to the Parkenstadion. A crowd of 609 witnessed an absolutely brilliant match which to and throwed one way then the next and finished 3-3. I paid 78KR (£7.70) Beer and hotdog was 75KR. Programme only available as a PDF download.
  3. Went to both semi finals today. Glasgow City too strong for a physical Partick Thistle team in the end and ran out 3-1 winners. Very good crowd for the second match with a healthy support for both teams.
  4. I think you may have been standing next to me in that first photo...
  5. Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic V Fraserburgh today. First visit to Dundas Park. Deserved 3-1 win for the Rose. 1571 (175 down from Fraserburgh)
  6. Also at Ainslie park! Been to Edinburgh city so much this season, I'm not even sure it's random anymore...
  7. That first picture is an absolute beauty
  8. Another one for Motherwell V Hibernian today.
  9. Edinburgh City V Stenhousemuir. Finished 1-1 in a very good and entertaining match. Two cracking goals. Jack Brydon with a 20+ yard screamer into the top corner to give City the lead. The Warriors equalised after a excellent move with Thomas Orr flicking a cute shot past the goalie. Game remained end to end. Thought Stenhousemuir had the better chances and were unlucky not to collect 3 points. Pity only 182 turned up to see it!
  10. Trip to the Borders today to see Gala Fairydean Rovers at home to Celtic B. 2-1 win for Celtic. Crowd around 300, I guess?! Gala Rugby playing Melrose in a double header over the fence at the same time. Caught most of the 2nd XV game before the football. Melrose won that 40-7.
  11. Edinburgh City V Stirling Albion tonight. 1-0 City in a tight and fairly feisty game. Excellent crowd of 498, swelled by a good turnout of Albion fans.
  12. Back in 1922. St Alban's city striker Wilfred 'Billy' Minter scored all SEVEN at Dulwich Hamlet only for the rest of his team to make a complete mess of his efforts by contriving to let in EIGHT at the other end! https://www.stalbanscityfc.com/minter-scores-seven-in-a-most-glorious-defeat/
  13. 1.FSV Mainz 05. Family connection, my Uncle met and married a Woman from Mainz. They live there with my cousins. They have season tickets and I've seen them on a few occasions.
  14. The 8 programmes from the 8 games I attended in January. I didn't manage to get one when at the Tranmere V FGR game. But Rovers sent me one out which arrived this morning.
  15. I'd been once before I went earlier this season (seen the Chelsea women V Everton Women game, no problem with a bag then!), back in 1991-92 I to see Woking play, when it was still Kingstonians ground and the stadium was Red rather than blue. It has changed a fair bit since then. It was still a fairly new ground back in the early 90s.
  16. Thanks, on train and it appears to be on time. Will need to run from Central to QS to get earlier train home as I'm absolutely knackered now! I hope your mate got delayed today and decided to head to pub instead! Seeing that Sunderland got murdered at Bolton!
  17. Cheers, already on it as I booked online via LNER APP. Very easy to do. My trip down is already in. I do hope the trip back has no delays though.
  18. Prenton Park for Tranmere Rovers V Forest Green Rovers today. A bit of a treck to get here today. I'd planned on arriving into Liverpool at 10.30 for have a look around before heading to the game, but with my train at 6.15 from Edinburgh cancelled then delays along the way I didn't arrive into Birkenhead until 2.30. I expected a good exciting tie today between the top two in League two. But in truth, Forest Green were absolutely brilliant and ripped Tranmere Rovers to shreds! 4-0 to FGR in front of a crowd of 10942, £18 ticket which was good value. Unfortunately the programmes were all sold out by the time I arrived. Scottish interest in the game in both teams. Ross Doohan, Calum MacDonald, Kane Hemmings and Josh McPake for Tranmere. FGR had. Jack Aitchson, Nick Cadden and Regan Henry. Now to get myself home tonight ...
  19. It's a great old ground which I always love visiting. It hasn't changed in 50+ years bar the odd bit of painting. The club are trying to get the ground redeveloped but are finding it hard to get certain parts of planning permission through (belt a road that runs close behind the main stand) The need to modernise is long overdue and will continually hold the club back from any ambition it has.
  20. Tonight's not so random, random game. Aldershot V Southend United. Frustrating draw for the Shots. Took an early lead then sat back and let Southend have the majority of the ball, who done nothing with it until the 86th minute to equalise. 2141 (about 500 Southend fans) crowd. £20 ticket and £3 programme. Its been 5 years since I've seen a live Aldershot win .
  21. . You'd think that would be the commonsense thing to do?! Probably one of these guys that Kevin Bridges is referring to.. https://youtu.be/INhoBQFTKU4
  22. Not heading to the Chelsea U23 game tonight now. Got to the stadium, bought my ticket and headed to the turnstiles. Only to be told by the steward that I couldn't bring my bag in, just incase I wanted to blow the stadium up! I have nowhere to put it so got a refund and now heading to the pub instead
  23. Arsenal V Burnley. Absolutely dreadful match. One paced arsenal too slow in thought and movement to breakdown a Burnley team more than happy to sit in and play out for a 0-0 draw. £30.50 ticket and £3.50 programme. Bought a whole host of printed Fanzines too!
  24. Woking V Wealdstone. 2-0 Woking. Red card for a Wealdstone player who tried to decapitate a Woking player with a Kung Fu kick! Despite being an Aldershot supporter. Back in the day I used to also watch Woking, long before they were rivals. This was my first visit back to Kingfield in over 28 years, so felt a wee bit nostalgic. A thoroughly enjoyable game in front of 2677 fans. Ticket £18 gets you to either sit or stand and programme was £3. And No I didn't bump into the Wealdstone raider
  25. Watford V Norwich Tonight. 3-0 win for Norwich. I'm not exactly sure how Watford managed to lose by three goals, as Norwich are absolutely awful! They couldn't string more than two passes together in the first half. Red Card for Watford and 15 minutes extra time because of partial floodlight failure. Ticket £32, programme £3.50
